The son of director Stephen Gyllenhaal and screenwriter Naomi Foner, Gyllenhaal began acting at the age of ten. Following his first lead role in 1999's October Sky, he starred in the indie cult hit Donnie Darko (2001), in which he played a psychologically troubled teenager alongside his older sister, actress Maggie Gyllenhaal. In 2004 he appeared in the science-fiction film The Day After Tomorrow, portraying a student caught in a cataclysmic global cooling event. He then played against type as a frustrated Marine in Jarhead (2005). The same year his role as Jack Twist in Brokeback Mountain earned him critical acclaim and an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor. He has since played the lead roles in many notable films, including Zodiac (2007), Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time (2010) and Source Code (2011).
Gyllenhaal has promoted various political and social causes. He has appeared in Rock the Vote advertising, campaigned for the Democratic Party in the 2004 U.S. presidential election, promoted environmental causes, and campaigned on behalf of the American Civil Liberties Union.
Rachel Anne Maddow (pronounced /ˈmædoʊ/; born April 1, 1973) is an American television host, political commentator, and author. Maddow hosts a nightly television show, The Rachel Maddow Show, on MSNBC. Her syndicated talk radio program of the same name aired on Air America Radio. Maddow is the first openly gay anchor of a prime-time news program in the United States.
Asked about her political views by the Valley Advocate, Maddow replied, "I'm undoubtedly a liberal, which means that I'm in almost total agreement with the Eisenhower-era Republican party platform."
Maddow was born in Castro Valley, California. Her father, Robert B. "Bob" Maddow, is a former United States Air Force captain who resigned his commission the year before her birth and found civilian work as a lawyer for the East Bay Municipal Utility District. Maddow was a competitive athlete and played three sports in high school. Referencing John Hughes films, she describes herself in high school as "a cross between the jock and the antisocial girl."

I know as a fact that the sun dont always shine
Gotta be optimistic, tomorrow itll be fine
And it hurts, like the mother who is giving birth
To the child full of innocence for life he has thirst
But in vain, hes only gaining pain
Minute after minute and day after day
So who the fuck! should he be blame
One for the trouble and he struggles to release the pain
Now i can see that ive been blinded see trough your heart
And all the little things that matter
Now i can see it all, and im asking you to wait
Maybe its too late...
I know youre talking shit behind my back incognito
And when i see you face to face youre lying like
pinocchio
I dont care what you say cause im on top of the world see
People like you near me and i feel the conspiracy
Identify yourself to yourself and be honest
I suggest, take a look in the mirror it is a test
Best way to cope it is to cope it in your own
Take this advice and you wont die alone
Maybe It's too late but now I can see it all
And I'm asking you to wait, yo
asking you to wait of your life in this world
I'll be late for that, baby, I'll wait for that
If you had a taste of that, you'd probably pay for that
I'm comin' in when I feel like
To turn this muh'fucker up only if it feels right
I'll be late for that, I can't wait for that
I think I was made for that
So I'm comin' in when I feel like
To turn this muh'fucker up only if it feels right
Stop all your blood cleat cryin', I was flyin'
Made it to school with barely 'nuff time to sign in
Yeah, I hear the alarm, yeah, I hear you mom
Yeah, yeah, I don't wan' be broke when I'm thirty-one
They said the best classes go to the fastest
Sorry Mr. West there's no good classes and that's what yo' ass get
Not even electives? Not even prerequits?
You mean I missed my major by a couple of seconds?
Now I'm in the shop class or the basket weavin'
With all the rest of the muh'fuckers underachievin'
Man, this is a insult
I went to junior high with all of them and they been slow
If I can catch the beat then slow down the tempo
Just notice at the end if I'm too late for the intro
Will I make it from the student loans to a Benz-O?
Like old folks pissin', I guess it all, oh, oh
(Depends)
Stop, you're cryin', baby
I'll be late for that, baby, I'll wait for that
If you had a taste of that, you'd probably pay for that
I'm comin' in when I feel like
To turn this muh'fucker up only if it feels right
I'll be late for that, I can't wait for that
I think I was made for that
So I'm comin' in when I feel like
To turn this muh'fucker up only if it feels right
You know when you be late you miss all the lights
That's right, that's right
(That's right, that's right)
And when you get back she gon' start up a fight
That night, that night
(That night)
Baby, it's too late for that, lately I've been takin' it slow
Try and make it to the party 'fore the guest list close
With the freshest hoes, the professors know
We about to get real unprofessional
Like them Eskimos, what would you do for a Klondike?
Or two dykes that look Christina Milian like
Hmm, I'll be on time for that
I ain't thought of no line that could rhyme with that
Yo, I'll be there in five minutes, five hours later
I'll be there in five minutes, go 'head ride with it
I'm so live with it, look how I did it
Been bullshittin' but I finally arrived with it
I know it's late and I took all year
But you can stop complainin', 'cause I'm finally here, yeah
I'll be late for that, I'll be late for that
A steely day,
a steelblue day
Is dying away
It's getting late,
it's getting oh so late
Finally
Warm deep sleep will take me in ist arms
Night earth is waiting with all ist charms
A gay spring day,
a cruel blue sky
Is fading away
It's getting late,
it's getting oh so late
Finally
Such a little niggle
The tiniest of touch
So easy to brush aside when everything looks up
But blossomed into chaos
The icy hands of rage reach deep into your system
And pull a piece away
So far away
And it's not coming fast enough at all
And it ain't easy to break through that wall
It's not always better to keep those thoughts at bay
You know what they say - it's never too late
To wash away the pain
To make it all okay
To start again and clean the slate
One too many counters to knock you right around
Splitting hairs halfway to find that middle ground
Endless frustration at another compromise
You want to feel, want to live
Want to see with those eyes
I look into your smile and there's nothing in there to see
You seem so distant to me
You know what they say - it's never too late
To wash away the pain
To make it all okay
To start again and clean the slate
And I know you need some space to try it your way
But I'm scared you'll go astray
What am I supposed to do? Sacrifice my goals?
What am I supposed to do? Stand by and let you go?
Neverâ¦
You know what they say, it's never too late
But the past has had its way
It's oh so late, are you asleep?
There's not a sound, so it's time for me to dream.
The window pane, late city scenes,
so far away from where I was weaned.
There was a girl so long ago,
all through the park at night we go.
All just as late as it is now,
two discontented, a young one's vow.
I'm here for you, only to adore you.
You mean everything to me.
And you're with me wherever I go,
and I miss you everywhere I go.
Well, goodbye to old friends,
I watched you go.
>From where I sit now, I still say hello.
All the memories gone by, those that I couldn't call.
An eternal divide, the distance too long.
Dead as a mackerel.
Dead as a door.
Dead as a nail, but never a bore.
Always good for a laugh.
Always good for a shout.

The eighties baby
You'll find her by the window waving
She's always on time
She always gets the questions right and,
The Nineties girl
With her saucer eyes
And her chocolate curls
But don't be fooled
She'll never love you cause' she's to damn cool
And,do you hear, hear the children scream
How do we learn, now that our teacher is gone?
Do you see, see that little girl
How do I learn, now that my role model's gone?
The noughties girl
You'll,you'll find her in the back row laughing
She's never on time
But you know if she fails,
Then she's gonna cry
And the naughty girl,oh
She's set to learn
The black mark how does it feel
By your name it's like a scar that won't heal
Do you hear, hear the children scream
How do we learn, now that our teacher is gone.
Do you see,see that little girl,
How do I learn now that my rolemodels gone.
And,I know you,get the best holidays
You've been gone for so long, lets count the days
So stop this, cause' I've had enough
Come home, where I'm gonna love you so much
Do you hear,
Hear the closing bell
See the smoke oh
And whats that smell
Do you see,see that I don't cry
I can't feel without you,so how can I
So stop this cause' I've had enough
My last words to you were
'I'm gonna miss you so much'
And the one lesson, please don't cry
You never taught was how to say goodbye
Goodbye,Goodbye does it come in time
Its getting Late Late,
Tell me what Time it is I, Cant wait,
I gotta get back to the house,
My show is on,
So walk and, Dont run,
Its slippery by the pool,
and it hurts,
you know that it only gets worse,
'Cuz the grade is steep,
It hit me so hard
fear for for my agitated(?), discomposed, disturbed, perturbed and alarmed,
I cant believe this works,
It makes you supersonic,
Your science hurts,
So why dont you,
Stop it,
And switch me chairs,
My efforts fall short,
but in the long run, lots could strecth foreward,
then it'd be almost there,
its just a longer ride,
so up to full speed,
if i can handle it, well we'll see,
action takes more than just luck,
It needs a well thought plan,
its getting good good,
turning and dodging like all you should,
just as it tosses me out,
I'll have to look to land.
I think your supersonic
Your science hurts,
So why dont you,
Stop it,
And switch me chairs,
Its getting Late Late,
Tell me what time it is I, Cant wait,
I gotta get back to the house,
My show is on,
So walk and dont run,
its slippery by the pool and it hurts,
you know trhat it only gets worse,
'cuz the grade is steep,
I think your supersonic
Your science hurts
So why don't you,
Stop it,
And switch me chairs,
I think your supersonic
Your science hurts
So why don't you,
Stop it,
My oh my it's a quarter to eight
Don't shoot me down dreamboat I'm a late date
Don't ask me no questions I ain't got a smooth line,
Please a' wait a little longer tryin' to make it there on time
Tickety tock, oh the clock don't stop
Lazy, dizzy, daisy it's a quarter to whoops, uh, oh
Doin' nothing honey just a' thinkin' of you
So don't you give me no suggestions
while I ain't got the time
Won't ya move a little closer and a kiss
me one more time
Tickety tock, oh the clock don't stop
It doesn't matter cause
I know that you would love me too-
I'm counting people
Walking through doors
The man who's working there he stares at me
He must be wondering
If I am crazy
Cause since 2 hours I am standing here
I am waiting for my lady
Might be rain or snow
I don't move and I don't go
And the only thing I hate
She will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain
100 people pass that's great
But she will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain
(Keeps me waiting on)
I try to imagine
What she would do
If I won't wait no more?
The man keeps staring
I must be looking
Like one of those â like one of those
Who ain't got no home
But I am waiting for my baby
Might be rain or snow
I don't move and I don't go
And the only thing I hate
She will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain
100 people pass that's great
But she will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain
Maybe she didn't catch the planeâ¦
And she had to take the trainâ¦
I'm sure she's in a cab
And on her way
The man keeps staring - aha
I pretend he's not there (but he is)
But he keeps coming â straight
He keeps coming
Straight on to me
He says:â young man Iâ¦
Have a message for you on this phoneâ
I hear her voice saying:
âBaby I won't come anymore - oh
Cause I met someone else baby
And it must be a little loveâ
I don't believe!! Ha!!
This must be a fake!
She's on her way!
She's just a little⦠LATE!
Yeah!
Huuuuhhh â Huuuuuhhh
She will be too late!!
And I'm waiting in the rain
(Keeps me waiting on)
100 people pass that's great
But she will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain
And the only thing I hate
She will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain
100 people pass that's great
But she will be too late
(keeps me)
Waiting in the rain

Under some dirty words on a dirty wall
Eating takeout by myself
I played the shows
Got back in the van and put the Walkman on
And you were playing
In some other dive a thousand miles away
I played a thousand times before
And like pathetic stars, the truck stops and the rock club walls
I always knew
You saw them too
But you never will again
It's too late
Don't you know
It's been too late
For a long time
Elliott, man, you played a fine guitar
And some dirty basketball
The songs you wrote
Got me through a lot
Just wanna tell you that
But it's too late
It's too late
No, don't you know
it's been too late
for a long time
Oh no
Things were looking up
Least that's what I heard
Oh no
Someone came and washed away your hard-earned
Peace of mind
When desperate static beats the silence up
A quiet truth to calm you down
The songs you wrote
Got me through a lot
Just wanna tell you that
But it's too late
It's too late
No, don't you know
It's been too late
For a long time
It's too late
It's too late
No, don't you know
It's been too late
I don't know where I belong
all I know is that I'm wrong
I can't wait another day
make it all just go away
I don't want it today
I don't want to be late
if you knew what I knew
you wouldn't be willing to wait
don't be fooled by what you read
it's not the same as what you see
you're trying to sell me
and it's something for nothing
I don't want to be late
La la la
La la la
La la la
Girl yes
Naw, for real
28 days pass me by
And she aint even show
Got me smokin'
Knowin' damn
Well I don't even smoke
Cause the worst thing
Aint knowin' when
But not knowin' when at all
I shoulda been more careful
When I let him rock my boat
I stressin' all day, everyday
Hopin' it's not the case
I hope I'm just
Late
It shoulda came by now
So I'm tryna figure out
Late
What the hell you did
To me when you took a dig
Late
I'm overdue
What are we gonna do
I know my body
And it's drivin' me crazy
I'm never late
I'd appreciate if you
Start pickin' up your phone (Phone)
I'll be damned if
You're out partyin'
While I'm stressed out at home (I'm stressed out at home)
Why you cryin' it aint yours
I didn't do it alone (I aint do it alone)
Give it 2 more days
For I hit the convenience store
I'm talking about (Talkin' bout)
Rite Aid, CVS (Oh, yeah)
You can pick the place
I hope I'm just
Late
It shoulda came by now
So I'm tryna figure out
Late
What the hell you did
To me when you took a dig
Late
I'm overdue
What are we gonna do
I know my body
And it's drivin' me crazy
I'm never late
Shoulda came by now
So I'm tryna figure out
Late
What the hell you did
Baby to me when you took a dig
Late
I'm overdue
That's why I got an attitude
I know my body
And it's drivin' me crazy
I'm never late
Oh you can't be serious, what
Mmm Mmm Mmm Mmm
Prolly bought it in your high school vendin' machine
Kept it in your wallet
So she was 16
In the back pocket of ya cross color jeans
And then had the nerve to use it on me (Damn homie)
And if it's true
You better find another job
Cause it takes more
Then flippin' burgers and fries
Smokin' dro and playin' on the X-Box
And hangin' at the strip club is gon have to stop
Late
It shoulda came by now
So I'm tryna figure out
Late
What the hell you did
Baby to me when you took a dig
Late (Oh)
I'm overdue
What are we gonna do
I know my body
And it's drivin' me crazy
I'm never late
It shoulda came by now
So I'm tryna figure out
Late
Baby what the hell you did
To my body when you took a dig
Late
Oh I'm overdue
What are we (What are you gonna)
I know my body (No, what are you gonna do)
And it's drivin' me crazy
I'm never late
Shit

Late
What are we gonna do
What are we gonna do
What are we
What are we
What are we
What are we gonna do
Late
Shoulda came by now (Oh)
So I'm tryna figure out (Oh)
What the hell you did (Oh)
To me when you took a dig (Yeah)
I'm overdue (Hope I'm just late)
What are we gonna do (Well)
I know my body
And it's drivin' me crazy
I'm never late
