Industry is the production of an economic good or service within an economy.
Industry is often classified into three sectors: primary or extractive, secondary or manufacturing, and tertiary or services. Some authors add quaternary (knowledge) or even quinary (culture and research) sectors.
Industries can be classified on the basis of raw materials, size and ownership.
Industry in the sense of manufacturing became a key sector of production and labour in European and North American countries during the Industrial Revolution, which upset previous mercantile and feudal economies through many successive rapid advances in technology, such as the steel and coal production. It is aided by technological advances, and has continued to develop into new types and sectors to this day. Industrial countries then assumed a capitalist economic policy. Railroads and steam-powered ships began speedily establishing links with previously unreachable world markets, enabling private companies to develop to then-unheard of size and wealth. Following the Industrial Revolution, perhaps a third of the world's economic output is derived from manufacturing industries—more than agriculture's share.

There's the feeling again
I've been praying the night wouldn't end
No more rides home alone...
I spent the whole night in doom
Trying to get a glimpse of her 'cross the room
Maybe it's the love I've never known
Romantic walks in the night
A kiss of love in the rain
Talk about the meaning of life
(And if words get in the way)
Sip wine and look into the fire
Romantic dreams
Dreamer, dream, Romantic dreams
One day we'd stare each other blind
So amazed at what we saw in our eyes
Never lovers, but always hope...
And if the dream ever became real
I wonder how she would feel
But the moment's gone and I'll never know
Romantic walks in the night
A kiss of love in the rain
Talk about the meaning of life
(And if words get in the way)
Sip wine and look into the fire
Romantic dreams.
Dreamer, dream, Romantic dreams
Dreamer, dream, Romantic dreams
Kill the industry
You killed the industry
I can't believe you've been handed this life
How do you fool them night after night?
Your hand-me-down fame is so pathetic
Your rockstar ego will not make you famous
Have some respect for what's been handed to you
You take for granted all the people that support what you do
You're not a rockstar and you will never be
You're just another face in this dying scene
It's not about the sex, drugs, and royalties
It's about respect, strength, and loyalty
You killed the industry
You killed the industry
Who do you think you are?
You are just a fake
Who do you think you are?
You should be ashamed
Who do you think you are?
You are just a fake
Who do you think you are?
You are nothing
It's not about the sex, drugs, and royalties
It's about respect, strength, and loyalty
Have some respect for what's been handed to you
You take for granted all the people that support what you do
You're not a rockstar and you will never be
You're just another face in this dying scene
My debut is coming soon and you already know what I'm gonna do
You got my time on the dotted line but you show up invited
But before I sign it
Someone say I'm not making mistakes and please don't be fake
My debut comes today and my feelings have all run away.
With the man that I am but understand if I don't keep going
It just goes to show that
I've been beat by an industry that I've never seen
This is me on my knees
Singing take it all from me
Take it all
Speak to my needs, my needs
Take it all, take it all
This is me
So the crowd gets quiet I start to play
And I think they're buying what I'm going to say
But to my defiance the music fades
And we all sit silent and I crawl back inside
Because it wasn't supposed to go this bad
When you grow silent I start to fall
Do you remember the time, when the purpose and the rhyme, was to see the souls affected.
But now its to man, every purpose and every plan, to whom the praise is directed.
We live out dream, make the crowd scream, but turn to yell at the sound man,
Since where and when did we stop checking the word and begin to start checking the sound scan.
Remember when shows were for souls and rhymes were for flows.
Now we spend one minute to pray, if even that for each day, but spend 2 hours checkin our clothes.
what happened to the passion we was having that was sparked in the begining.
but we're quick to cry, point the speck in your eye, but even quicker to justify our sinning.
we're wuick to diss and raise the fist to justify the things that we do.
but for every finger we point at them, just remember freind there's 4 more pointin back at you.
how and when did it all begin as ministry turned to industry.
cause did jesus need a manager, record label, ditributor, or even a boooking agency.
when troubles came, did he call upon the name, or turn to a lawyer to handle it.
why do we ask God last, ignore the past, but be the first to ask our management.
cause next to him, our glory's dim and truely pales in comparison.
why does every move we choose seem to revolve around
we can get our groove on, but yet worry about comin on to strong.
yet we water it down so much there aint even nothing left to chew on.
souls become sales, and sales become a salary
give the crowd something to feel, whine about keepin it real,
but dont try to keep it to reality.
yet when its all over and the mic is hung and its all said and done.
it wont matter how many battles i won, but only the souls that i have won.
on the other side, will my silly pride cause me to hold my head up proud .
If I wont have beef with you then, tell me freind, why should I have a beef wth you now.
At the end of my life when I held that mic did I really truelly deserve it.
Forget if i was phat, Forget if i was whack,
I want to hear well done my good and faithful servant.
I see them marching off to war
They're looking so heroic
I'm told they won't be gone for long
But that's a lie and they know it
Ten thousand gone they won't return
Never to be seen again
Strategic games is all we learn in the end
But they say:
Don't you worry about the situation
(A message from the telephone)
They out there fighting for the state of the nation
(I'm waiting a chance to come home)
They always have to fight the alienation
(I realize I'm fighting alone)
When nightmares memories fades to dust
We'll get back on our feet again
This war has nothing to do with us
But somehow we're still involved in it
Well...
Don't you worry about the situation
(A message from the telephone)
They out there fighting for the state of the nation
(I'm waiting a chance to come home)
Well, Don't you worry about the situation
(A message from the telephone)
They always have to fight the alienation
(I realize I'm fighting alone)
There's no place like home
There's no place like home
There's no place I don't want to be anywhere else
There's no place like home
There's no place like home
There's no place I don't want to be anywhere else
There's no place like home
There's no place like home
There's no place I don't want to be anywhere else
There's no place like home
There's no place like home
There's no place I don't want to be anywhere
Don't you worry about the situation
They out there fighting for the state of the nation
Don't you worry about the situation

That I've been beat by an industry I've never seen

Speak to my needs, my needs
Oh, and take it all, oh, just take it all, this is me

[Instrumental]
You are not alone my brother
I have always been with you,
Have we eaten something deadly
Something poisonous consumed.
I just longed for days that were simple
When books still held the golden keys,
But I know that to be an illusion
Know that they were never that way.
I'm not a God Damn machine man
I've got two arms and two eyes,
Guess this is what we lost sight of
Swallowed it with no reply.
Will what this world's made of me
Bring only venting of hatred on my family
Fruit of my labor the desecration of everything sacred to me.
Victims of this great temper,
the pent up frustration living has buried in me,
Brought down upon the ones that I love
and those who I sing these songs for.
I just long for days that were simple
When books still held the golden keys,
But I know that to be an illusion
Know that they were never that way.
It's been years since I screamed out at the sky
Like my father, A choice to make the decision was mine
Every son can blame this.
I'm not that man, drop it repeat,
It's not what happens it's how it's dealt with.
Your not that man drop it repeat
There's only so much that's in our hands.
The casing for this powerful spirit
Tires but is strengthened by whats been put before
Everyone must spend their due time
Feeling sick, so sick inside
There's a certain sense of violence
[Intro]
Yeah I wanna dedicate this to everybody that love hip hop music
Cause without hip hop music I wouldn't be here today
Preacher's son, yeah
[Verse 1]
Imagine if Biggie and Pac never got shot
And they both still were rulers of hip hop
And Puffy and Suge was roomates from college
And Big L never got found in the alley
Nas and Jay-Z they were still homies
Squash the beef with Ja Rule and 50
Benzino shook hands with Eminem
And on the same record I heard Eve, Fox and Kim
And sometimes when I dream, that's when I wake up
I kinda hoped that The Fugees didn't break up
And when they walked into the studio I prayed they didn't spray
Cause I miss that scratch from Jam Master Jay (Whoa oh oh!!!)
[Chorus]
Shots go off, mother's cry
Death since rise, homicide
Black on black crime needs to stop
Y'all can't blame it on hip hop
Cause what we say is what we see
What we see is reality
The ghetto's the ghetto you got them livin in sorrow
Soon they won't live to see tomorrow
[Verse 2]
Imagine if Big Pun was still alive
I could see Fat Joe screamin Terror Squad
Imagine if there were still four survivors still in Destiny's Child
And TLC never lost they Left Eye
Imagine Refugees never needin a passport
And John Forte never at Newark Airport
Million Man March, man, that was a start
Now I need a million more to meet me at Central Park
When the revolution start y'all 'gon have to play this
Imagine Slick Rick not gettin deported (Whoa oh oh!)
[Chorus]
Shots go off, mother's cry
Death since rise, homicide
Black on black crime needs to stop
Y'all can't blame it on hip hop
Cause what we say is what we see
What we see is reality
The ghetto's the ghetto you got them livin in sorrow
Soon they won't live to see tomorrow
[Verse 3]
In the club never though Shyne shot the gun
But in the limosine JLO had to run
Paparazzi snappin shots through the mirror
That's when I saw a smile from Princess Diana
Back and forth and forth and back
Like Miss Aaliyah man do I miss her
The war goes on with The ROC and The Lox
Murder INC, G- Unit it's a fight to the top
Stop! We lost too many soldiers like Freaky Tah
While they get the cover of a magazine who got to die
[Chorus]
Shots go off, mother's cry
Death since rise, homicide
Black on black crime needs to stop
Y'all can't blame it on hip hop
Cause what we say is what we see
What we see is reality
The ghetto's the ghetto you got them livin in sorrow
Soon they won't live to see tomorrow
[Outro]
Yeah, peace be with y'all
This is a plague on all our homes
The gutter and the prisons we will go
You're rigging all the fights
and siding with the cheats
You're picking up your winnings late next week
The television spits and the wives are crying
The adverts tell the truth when the father's lying
Why won't someone tell me why my government doesn't hear all the warnings
No one will gamble and no one will fuck
Cause the loyalty's lost and the drinkers are drunk
The factory cheats and the industry lies
Your daddy ain't got a job in the morning
The criminals wave and the officers smile
They're killing all the angels who picked a fight
The fence is high and the battle is lost
The money is safe whatever the cost
The televison spits and the wives are crying
The adverts tell the truth when the father's lying
Why won't someone tell me why my government doesn't hear all the warnings
No one will gamble and no one will fuck
Cause the loyaltys lost and the drinkers are drunk
The factory cheats and the industry lies
Your daddy ain't got a job in the morning
Everyone gambles and everyone fucks
Over everyone else
The reason is lost
Everyone's stabbing their friends in the back
