  • Valerie Harper is on the mend after being rushed to the hospital Wednesday night, according to her daughter, Cristina Cacciotti.

"Mom is resting and recouping and very much her lively self," Cacciotti told ET on Friday.

The Ogunquit Playhouse, the Maine theater company where the 75-year-old actress is starring in the musical Nice Work If You Can Get It, also issued a statement clarifying Harper's condition.

"There have been conflicting reports in the media regarding Valerie Harper's condition after being admitted to the hospital Wednesday evening prior to going on stage at the Ogunquit Playhouse," the theater said.

"Executive Artistic Director Bradford Kenney has been in direct communication with Valerie's family from the beginning and can report that Valerie is not, and has never been, in a coma. She is currently enjoying her family's company while resting at an undisclosed location. Valerie has been loving her time in Ogunquit and is looking forward to getting back on stage at the Ogunquit Playhouse."

A source close to the family previously told ET that Harper's family said privately she is in a coma.

Harper's husband and manger, Tony Cacciotti, did not respond to repeated requests for comment.
