How do I register on Shiksha.com?
Click on 'Join Now' and you will see a registration form (quite obviously!), which will take not more than 2-3 minutes to fill up. Just put in your information and agree to the terms and conditions and enjoy the various benefits of being a Shiksha member
 
Is it necessary to upload my picture in my profile?
Not really! You can select an Avatar, which is a fictitious image to create an identity for yourself on Shiksha.com. This way you don't reveal your good looks and yet create an identity. But my pal, if you upload your real image, your friends will be able to find you more conveniently. So, the choice is yours.

How can I ask a question on 'Ask & Answer'?
It's super easy to ask a question on 'Ask & Answer'. Just click on the 'Ask a New Question' bar and post your queries. You can also search for questions from 'Search Ask & Answer'. It will help you in finding questions related to your topic. For example: If you are confused whether to take up MBA or MCA, just type 'MBA or MCA'. The search tool will display questions related to MBA & MCA with their answers.
 
How can I answer a question on 'Ask & Answer'?
So, you want to share your knowledge. Most welcome! Click on the question, which you want to answer and it will take you on the discussion page. Then all you have to do is to click on the 'Add a Comment' bar and share your answer. Simple! Isn't it?
 
What is Shiksha Member Level and Point System?
The moment you register yourself on Shiksha.com, you get Bronze level points and the ladder goes up from there to Silver, Gold, Diamond to the highest Platinum Level. These levels indicate how active you have been at Shiksha.com.
We know your next question Will I gain from these points?? Yes, you will get rewards. Based on your level, Shiksha.com to send special promotional offers to you from colleges and affiliate partners.

How do I post an event?
You seem to know a lot about what is happening in the world. Good! Share it with us. Click on 'Add an Event' and sign in, the page displayed will ask for some detailswell this may take a minute or two, so be patient. Just fill up the right details and let people know about the event you want to share.
 
How do I view events happening in different countries?
Select a Country Name and Date and you'll get to see details of events about to happen in that specific country.
 
 
What are the benefits of joining a College Group?
You can meet all your closest pals, batch mates and acquaintances in Institute Groups. Chat with them and see what's happening in their lives. Also, you can broaden your network by making new friends. Cool! Right?
 
Can't find my college! What should I do?
Simple! Go to 'College Groups' and click on 'Add a Institute', fill up the various details of your college and make your own Institute Groups. Now, you can spread the word around and your ex-classmates and faculty can join the group.
 
How do I find colleges of different countries?
It is a very simple process. You just have to click on the country of you choice and it will display institute and universities of that county. After that, to narrow your search, click on the Alphabet, which is an initial of the institute or university you are looking for. Here's an example: If you are looking for 'University of Buffalo', click on United States and alphabet 'U'. Now, you will be able to see college or university falling under this category.
 
I am not a student of a particular college, can I also join?
Yes, you can. If you are seeking admission in a particular institute, you can join that Institute Group as a prospective student. This way you will be able to interact with students who are already a part of that institute group. Also, you can know more about the institute and students beforehand. (Oh! We know you want to say thank you. But it's ok!)

How do I create an alert?
This alert is not like your alarm clock, which will disturb you at a wrong time always. In fact, it will keep you informed about all the current happenings. Go to 'My Shiksha Alerts' and there is a 'Create an Alert' bar under various options listed like Course & College, Scholarship Alert, Examination Form Alert, Ask & Answer Question Alert, Ask & Answer Question Alert and Answer Alert. Just click on it and create an alert. Also remember, you are not allowed to create more than five alerts. So, act smartly!

How can the 'Study Abroad' section help me?
So, you want to study abroad. Cool! The 'Study Abroad' section lets you sift through listings of different colleges in different countries. Now simply click on the college or university you want to study in. Here, you can get all the information regarding Course Details, Life in the University, Accommodation and Other Details. There are also Funding Details available here (we know it costs a lot!).
 
I want to do a particular course. How do I find out which colleges are offering it?
Well pal! It's very simple. Just click on 'Browse by Categories' under 'Study Abroad' and select the course of your choice. It will display listings of colleges falling under that course category. So, go ahead and look for your favorite college.

Who are Shiksha experts?
It's easy to decide, a mall where you would like to hang out, a caf� where you would like to go with friends. However, when it comes to deciding the right college or course, we know it's quite a task. So, 'Shiksha Experts' or 'Shiksha Counselors' will help and guide you in making the right decision. For example: If you ask them, which course should I opt for? Or which college is best for animation & multimedia? etc., they will try to give you the best possible advice.
 
How do I get in touch with Shiksha Experts?
Don't worry about this. Just click on 'Call Shiksha Experts' and put in your details like Name, Contact Number and E-mail Address and Shiksha experts will get back to you.

What are General Events Notifications?
We don't want you to miss interesting events. So, this 'General Events' section includes all the events happening all over the world (but only events related to education, no Filmfare awards!). Just click on the event and it will display details regarding it.
 
What are Admission Notifications?
The 'Admission' section will keep you informed about the deadlines of important admission events such as sale of forms, entrance examination of a particular college, submission of forms etc. Ahem! We know it's not uncommon to forget these important dates.
 
What are Result Notifications?
Sorry! We don't intend to increase your anxiety. But this 'Results' section will inform you about the date of results of your school/college. Don't worry! It's just a date, not your result.

I want to do a particular course. How do I find out which colleges are offering it?
Good Question! And we have a good answer. Click on the career option of your choice in 'Browse by Categories' and you will list of institutes that offer courses in that particular field. For example: If you click on 'Animation & Multimedia', the displayed page will show you the list of institutes falling under that category.

I want to study abroad. How can Shiksha help me?
So, you want to study abroad. Not a bad idea. Click on the country of your choice from 'Countries' section and it will display a list of institutes along with various necessary details.

How can I change my display name?
It's very simple my friend. Just go to 'Accounts & Settings' and click on 'Edit' and change your display name.
 
I have moved to another city. Can I edit it on my Shiksha profile?
Yes, it's simple. In your 'Accounts & Settings' section, there is an option of editing city. Just click on Edit and get going.
 
I have got a new mobile number. How can I update it on Shiksha?
It's as easy as it looks! Just go on 'Accounts & Settings' and click on 'Edit' under the 'Cell No.'. In a jiffy you will be able to change or add your new mobile number.
 
I think someone has hacked my password. How can I change it?
Chill pal! Click on 'Change Password' under 'My Accounts & Settings' and put your 'Current Password' and a 'New Password'. This way you can simply update your new password.
 
I am getting too many alerts on my mobile. What should I do?
Oops! It's time for you to change your 'Privacy Settings'. Choose the other option like 'I wish to be contacted via Email' or just de-activate the service.
 
I want to edit my question on 'Ask & Answer'. How should I do it?
Just go on 'Accounts & Settings' section and under the 'Question & Answer' section you will find your question. From there you can Edit it, Delete it or if you want, you can stop the discussion. Easy! Right?
 
By mistake I entered incorrect event details. How should I change them?
Don't worry pal! It's not rocket science. Just go to 'Accounts & Settings' and Edit the details added by you.

How can I block a user in my profile?
Just mark the user you don't want in your profile and then click on 'Delete' or 'Block User'. This way you can simply do away with unwanted people.
 
Can I message a Shiksha member whose Email ID I don't have?
Yes you can. Just click on 'Compose' and write the display name of the person to whom you want to send the message in the 'To' bar. Bingo! Your message will land into his/her inbox.
