Antony Genn (born 1971 in Sheffield, England) is a British musician formerly in Pulp. He also toured with Elastica in 1995-1996, playing keyboards. He is known for co-writing with Joe Strummer and forming The Mescaleros in 1999. Antony co-wrote and produced The Mescaleros first album Rock Art and the X-Ray Style. Antony was also guitarist and M.D of the band until his departure in 2000. He has been with The Hours since 2004.

John Graham Mellor (21 August 1952 – 22 December 2002), best remembered by his stage name Joe Strummer, was an English musician who was the co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist and lead vocalist of the British punk rock band The Clash. His musical experience included his membership of The 101ers, Latino Rockabilly War, The Mescaleros and The Pogues, in addition to his own solo music career. Strummer's work as a musician allowed him to explore other interests, which included acting, creating film scores for television and movies, songwriting, radio broadcasting, and a position as a radio host. Strummer is one of the iconic figures of the British punk movement.

Strummer and The Clash were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in January 2003. In his remembrance, Strummer's friends and family have established the Strummerville Foundation for the promotion of new music, and each year there are many festivals and both organised and spontaneous ceremonies worldwide to celebrate his memory.

Justine Elinor Frischmann (born 16 September 1969) is an English singer and guitarist, best known for being the lead singer of the now defunct band Elastica. In the last few years, she has pursued a career as an abstract painter.

Justine Frischmann was born in Kensington, London to Wilem Frischmann, a Jewish-Hungarian Holocaust survivor who is chairman of the Pell Frischmann company of consulting engineers, and to a Jewish-Russian mother.

Frischmann grew up in Twickenham and attended St Paul's School, before studying Architecture at University College London. Initially, Frischmann had wanted to pursue art, but after her father expressed doubts, she attended Bartlett School of Architecture at University College London, where she spent six years studying architecture.

Frischmann began dating Brett Anderson in 1989, and together they founded the band Suede. She left the band in 1991.

Frischmann later founded and fronted her own band, Elastica, which was formed in 1992 and emerged in 1993 with the single "Stutter" with help from BBC Radio 1 DJ Steve Lamacq. They were first signed to his label, Deceptive Records, and later signed with Geffen Records. The band members were: Frischmann on vocals/guitar, Donna Matthews on guitar, Annie Holland on bass and Justin Welch on drums. In 1995, Elastica was nominated for the Mercury Music Prize for their album Elastica. The album became the fastest selling British debut in history, and went on to sell over a million copies worldwide. Elastica released a second album in 2000 which did not sell as well. In 2001 the band announced an amicable break up.

John Chapman (September 26, 1774 – September, 26 1845), also known as Johnny Appleseed, was an American pioneer nurseryman who introduced apple trees to large parts of Pennsylvania, Ohio, Indiana, and Illinois. He became an American legend while still alive, largely because of his kind and generous ways, his great leadership in conservation, and the symbolic importance he attributed to apples.

He was also a missionary for The New Church, or Swedenborgian Church, so named because it teaches the theological doctrines contained in the writings of Emanuel Swedenborg.

John Chapman was born in Leominster, Massachusetts, the second child (after his sister, Elizabeth) of Nathaniel and Elizabeth Chapman (née Simonds, married February 8, 1770) of Massachusetts. His birthplace is now marked by a granite marker, and the street is called Johnny Appleseed Lane. Nathaniel Chapman fought at Concord as a Minuteman as early as April 19, 1775, and later served in the Continental Army with General George Washington during the American Revolutionary War. Johnny was born around the time that the Battle of Bunker Hill was fought.

Jarvis Branson Cocker (born 19 September 1963) is an English musician and frontman for the band Pulp. Through his work with the band, Cocker became a figurehead of the Britpop movement of the mid-1990s. Following Pulp's hiatus, Cocker has led a successful solo career, and currently presents his own radio show on BBC Radio 6 Music, Jarvis Cocker's Sunday Service.

Cocker founded "Arabacus Pulp" (named after a tradeable commodity he saw in an economics class) at the age of 15 while he was still at The City School. After numerous line-up changes, and a shortening of the name to "Pulp", they eventually found fame in the 1990s with the success of the albums His 'n' Hers (1994) and Different Class (1995). As Pulp's front-man, part of his trademark image was his glasses, which seemed to "stay magically on his face" no matter his antics on stage, apparently this was achieved with "a huge rubber band round the back".

Pulp released two more albums (This Is Hardcore and We Love Life) to critical acclaim, though neither achieved the commercial success of Different Class. After releasing a greatest hits album, the band was on hiatus from 2003 to 2010, but returned to activity in 2011.
