Where to begin... Evolution Sports began as Evolution Soccer in 2007 with just four boys and a few old worn out balls. The aim was to enable youngsters from all social and cultural backgrounds the ability to enjoy playing organised football in Qatar. Just seven years later and we have evolved into a multi-sports coaching provider which has seen over 5000 youngsters come and go. In fact, many of the original members (who have since been away to university), often return to volunteer their services during their holidays. This is something that we are extremely proud of and exemplifies the community spirit that we so cherish at the club. The club originally struggled for facilities, and used several different training pitches in the early days; from Al Jazeera school to the old Doha College hard court to the rugby club before finding a temporary home at Qatar Foundation in 2009. We eventually moved back to Doha College in September 2011 when a brand new state of the art 3G training surface was installed. In 2013 Doha College opened up a second venue in West bay and it didn't take us long to move in there as well. In 2011 we officially went from Evolution Soccer to Evolution Sports and began to offer cricket, basketball, netball, swimming and tennis classes - all under the same umbrella. In the last couple of years especially, the club has undergone tremendous changes following the officialisation of our relationship with Doha College. This has enabled us to concentrate full time on the club, and employ full-time coaches and admin staff to help us run it. The club has been at the forefront of the development of youth sports in Qatar and has been involved heavily with many government initiatives including Qatar's official bid for the 2022 Soccer World Cup. We have also been active in promoting sport amongst Qatari nationals through various different schemes including 'Search for a Star' and the 'GOALZ' programme in partnership with the QSL. The club currently fields a team in the QIAFL adult league, who with an average age of just 15 years compete in the top of three divisions and are regularly commended on their playing style and approach to the game. The growth of the club has been the result of a lot of hard work; blood, sweat and tears. But most of all the support of our members who continue to amaze me with their patience and loyalty. Everything that we do at Evo is done with our members best interests in mind. The next few years promise to be the most exciting yet as we prepare yet again to move to a new facility in 2016. The new Doha College building will boast 2 full size football pitches as well as two indoor sports halls. A 50 meter indoor pool accompanied by a 25 meter outdoor pool as well as rooftop basketball and netball courts are sure to push us to the very top of the youth coaching industry in not only Qatar, but the entire Middle East region.

Palestinian resistance movement Hamas has denied Israeli claims that its Political Bureau Chief Khaled Meshaal has been expelled from Qatar. Hamas officials in both Qatar and the Gaza Strip have dismissed the claims as baseless. Earlier, the Israeli Foreign Ministry said it welcomed Qatar’s decision to expel Meshaal to Turkey. Tel Aviv also claimed that Qatar’s decision followed diplomatic pressure from Israel. Qatar has not yet commented on the Israeli claims. Wide of news conference STORYLINE Arab mediators on Tuesday gave rival Lebanese factions holding crisis talks in Qatar a deadline of another day, and two different proposals on how to break their country's 18-month political deadlock. A Qatari official hosting the Lebanese, Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud, said the proposals were the "ideal solution" the mediators came up with to resolve Lebanon's crisis. "The committee sees that the two proposals are the ideal solution to exit the current Lebanese crisis," al-Mahmoud said. Al-Mahmoud would not reveal the proposals' content but in explaining the deadline, said it was given because "one of the sides requested more time." Four days of talks in Doha have focused on two key issues, a national unity government and a new electoral law, which would also lead to the election of a new Lebanese president. Doha talks follow an Arab mediated deal that got Lebanese camps to end a week of violence, worst since Lebanon's 1975-90 civil war, and agree to hold negotiations on overcoming the crisis that has paralyzed the country. The crisis dissolved into violence May 7, with clashes between pro-government groups and the Hezbollah-led opposition raging in the streets of Muslim west Beirut, the central mountains and the north. At least 67 people died. An agreement in Doha is meant to lead to the election of compromise presidential candidate, General Michel Suleiman, commander of the army. Lebanon has had no president since pro-Syria Emile Lahoud's term ended in November. Qatar Airways A380 Flight on the new Airbus A350 from Doha to Singapore. It was a 0700hrs departure from Doha and landed in Singapore at 1950 hrs local time. We were travelling from London to Singapore, with a 45 minute layover in Doha. We had a 45 minute layover in Doha. The transfer was rather rushed, but still do-able. We boarded the aircraft rather late, i.e. almost all the other passengers had boarded. The plane was new. This flight was rather empty so I had an empty seat beside me. Seat space was decent and the IFE system was modern with a nifty touchscreen. Service on board was good. Overall, Qatar offers a top notch product. Pity, however, the seat space on the Boeing 787 is terrible - that is for another video review. This time, let's celebrate the new Airbus A350. In this video, I also remember the recent earthquake tragedy in Mt Kinabalu, Sabah, Malaysia. Several young primary school children and teachers lost their lives, due to falling boulders.

Qatar Airways Boeing 787, Singapore to Doha. Departure was 0230hrs. This was our first time on Qatar Airways and we were excited. Unfortunately, there is one big drawback of this plane in Economy class. The seats are awfully cramped, with very little legroom and width. Passengers were literally spilling out of the seat. Watch my video as I go into the details. Seat aside (which by the way, is a very big deal since you spend 99% of your time in your seat), everything else was really good and befitting of a 5-star airline status. Cabin crew was pleasant and attentive. Food was good. IFE system was very modern. Plane was new. Pretty much top marks in all other categories, other than the seat. For our journey from Singapore to London and back, we also flew on the Airbus A350 (which was awesome!) and the older Airbus A340 (also very good!), so I know that Qatar can put seats on planes that are of decent width and legroom in the Economy class. This report reveals the shocking conditions endured by workers. The lead up to the World Cup has been enshrouded in scandal at every turn. With reports that over 1200 have died in Qatar already, the reality of the World Cup for those building the stadiums is far from glamorous. "They live in squalor... They're owned by another individual, lock, stock and barrel - that's slavery", says Sharan Burrow, head of the International Trade Union Confederation. Burrow takes ABC on a tour of a hostel of Nepalese migrants, who work six days a week for 12 hours a day, with no paid overtime. "They just send you back when they decide you've finished", explains one worker. Under the Kafala system in Qatar, workers need permission from their employers before they can leave the country. "The workers here can be physically and verbally abused... they can be stuck in detention centres or they can be kicked back home", says Mustafa Qadri from Amnesty International. Even footballer Abdes Ouaddou was a victim of Kafala. After being hired to play in the Qatari league, he was denied an exit visa. Expressing his outrage, Abdes says: "How can such a prestigious, popular competition take place in a country that doesn't respect human rights or the law?"
