1… Nineveh Plain Institute for Development has held a conference on genocides of Shia Shabak people and Turkmen in Mosul Province. The conference has been held at the courtyard of al-Abbas Holy Shrine. The attendees confirmed that followers of Ahlul Bait, peace be upon them, from Shabak and Turkmen minorities were displaced and psychologically tortured, stressing the necessity of shedding light upon their suffering and problems. 2.. Iraqi security forces repelled attacks by the so-called Islamic State (IS) terrorists in the provinces of Salahuddin and Anbar, according to security sources. A provincial security source said that the Iraqi army, backed by volunteers of the Popular Mobilization Forces, repelled an overnight attack by dozens of IS terrorists from two directions on Iraq's largest oil refinery of Baiji, in Salahuddin. The source added that IS terrorists were forced to withdraw following heavy clashes with the troops which resulted in two huge fires in a few of the refinery facilities. In Anbar, Iraqi security forces continued their advance to recover the Nadhim al-Taqseem area near Tharthar Lake north of Fallujah, 50 km west of Baghdad. 3.. The Syrian army and armed forces continued targeting terrorists in the various provinces, regaining control over the town of Ghanya in Jisr al-Shughour in Idlib countryside. According to a military source, the army killed terrorists of IS in a special operation against one of their dens in Rahoum village in the eastern countryside of Homs province. More terrorists, most of them from al-Nusra Front, were killed and others were injured during a special operation against their gatherings in the village of Shmeis al-Hayyat in Hassia near the Lebanese borders. 4.. The embassy of Saudi Arabia in Kuwait has reportedly taken legal action against a Kuwaiti lawmaker that criticized the kingdom’s military aggression against neighboring Yemen. The controversial measure was taken after Kuwaiti MP Abdulhameed Dashti criticized the devastating Saudi military campaign across Yemen during an interview with a Lebanese TV channel. The lawsuit by the Saudi embassy claims that Dashti’s criticism of its air strikes in Yemen insulted the kingdom, said the press reports, citing Saudi embassy authorities. According to the reports, the legal measure by the Saudi regime is the second against the Shia Kuwaiti lawmaker. In the previous case, Dashti was accused of insulting the kingdom and the Saudi monarchy. 5.. Almost 4,000 Saudi forces fled their border bases in anticipation of Riyadh’s order for launching a ground assault on Yemen, European diplomatic sources said. The European sources said that the Saudi forces’ mass AWOL forced Riyadh to declare ceasefire and dissuaded it from launching ground attacks against Yemen. Other reports also said that over 10,000 soldiers from different Saudi military units have fled the army battalions and the National Guard. Experts believe that the Saudi army lacks strong morale to launch a ground invasion of Yemen and such an attack would be considered as a suicide for Saudi Arabia. Despite Riyadh’s claims that it is bombing the positions of the Ansarullah fighters, Saudi warplanes are flattening residential areas and civilian infrastructures. 6.. Rajab and Sha'baan are the seventh and eighth months in the Islamic Lunar Calendar. Fasting during these two months is highly recommended even for one day at least. Many hadiths stated by the holy Prophet, peace be upon him and his progeny and the infallible Imams, peace be upon them, recommend fasting during these two months for the benefits one can gain both on spiritual and health levels. 7..
