Razar - Ascension Day

Another one from the Bruce Rhodes collection, and I was pleased to get this surprise, as I have had this on my "Want to hear" list for a long time.

This is "Razar's" (not to be confused with the Australian band "The Razar" follow the links here and here over at the excellent "Killed By Death Records" if you want to hear the oz band).debut single released on Polydor in 1978, the a-side is a new version "Ascension Day" which was originally released by proto-punk band "Third World War's" (Bass guitarist Jim Avery's first band) on their first LP. Follow this link to Punk77 for more info.

The stand out track for me is "Ascension Day" when it first started I started to think I was listening to the"Ballroom Blitz" and you can hear a mix of glam rock on this track. The b-side "Ain't No Mystery" is a bit slower, but has that mean snarling undertone.

See what you think of "Razar" and leave a comment to thank Bruce for another excellent donation.
