DWP Minister Esther McVey: grilling by the Select Committee over ESA Sanctions PART 1
Current DWP Minister Esther McVey receiving a grilling from the Select Committee of MPs chaired by Dame Anne Begg. A comical performance; McVey's rambling did not answer one question put to her, she didn't know figures asked of her, and denied evidence of DWP staff being harassed into sanctions targets. (Emails leaked to the PCS Union from DWP managers instructing and bullying staff to increase sanctions: http://freepdfhosting.com/faacadae5c.pdf)

Police Bail - Commons Home Affairs Select Committee - Paul Gambaccini
MPs have backed plans to introduce a limit on the amount of time suspected criminals can be bailed by police to prevent them being held in “legal limbo”.

The NCA (National Crime Agency) (amongst others) has a lot to answer for.....
The Commons’ home affairs select committee said it supported Government proposals for a 28 days limit in most cases, although police should be able to renew bail up to three months in exceptional cases.
Lots of respect goes out to Mr. Gambaccini and his recent pli

House Select Committee on Assassinations: Regis Blahut (July 11th and 13th, 1978)
Regis Blahut, a CIA security official assigned to the HSCA, was interviewed regarding a security breach in the Committee's secure room. Autopsy photographs had been found out of the safe and in one case out of its plastic sleeve, and Blahut became the focus of the investigation. In the first interview, Blahut admitted to leafing through the autopsy photo booklet on one occasion. In the second interview, he admitted to additional occurrences, and also that he had discussed his observations with CIA personnel. He was informed by Gary Cornwell of the HSCA that his statements were still inconsistent with the evidence -- Blahut's fingerprints had

Trey Gowdy Leads First Benghazi Committee Hearing
The first hearing of the special House committee on Benghazi lacked the political fireworks that have dominated the broader debate over the terrorist attacks for more than two years.
Instead of hostile, blockbuster exchanges with witnesses and sparring between lawmakers, the hearing from the House Select Committee on Benghazi is the clearest sign to date that Chairman Trey Gowdy (R-S.C) has no intention of allowing his investigation to turn into a political sideshow.
“I remain hopeful there are still things left in our country that can transcend politics,” Gowdy said. “I remain convinced our fellow citizens deserve all of the facts of what
