State House or statehouse may refer to:
Nimrata Nikki Randhawa Haley (Born on January 20, 1972), an American politician, is the 116th and current Governor of South Carolina. A member of the Republican Party, Haley represented Lexington County in the South Carolina House of Representatives from 2005 to 2010.
In the 2010 South Carolina gubernatorial election, Haley was endorsed for the Republican nomination by former Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney, former Alaska Governor Sarah Palin, and the Tea Party movement. On June 8, 2010, she finished first in the four-way Republican primary election with 49% of the vote, but fell short of the 50% required to avoid a runoff election. Haley won the runoff on June 22 with 65%, and proceeded to win the general election by a 51–47% margin.
Haley is the first woman to serve as Governor of South Carolina, and the second Indian-American governor in the country. At the age of 40, Haley is the youngest current governor in the US. Haley signed a law cracking down on illegal immigration in June 2011. She also supports a law requiring photo identification at the polls.
John Forbes Kerry (born December 11, 1943) is the senior United States Senator from Massachusetts, the 10th most senior United States Senator and chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. He was the presidential nominee of the Democratic Party in the 2004 presidential election, but lost to then President George W. Bush.
The son of an Army Air Corps serviceman, Kerry was born in Aurora, Colorado. He attended boarding school in Massachusetts and New Hampshire and went on to graduate from Yale University class of 1966, where he majored in political science. He enlisted in the Naval Reserve in 1966 and, during 1968-1969, served a four-month tour of duty in South Vietnam as officer-in-charge (OIC) of a Swift Boat. For that service he was awarded several combat medals that include the Silver Star, Bronze Star, and three Purple Hearts. After returning to the United States, Kerry joined the Vietnam Veterans Against the War in which he served as a nationally recognized spokesperson and as an outspoken opponent of the Vietnam war. During that period, he appeared before the Senate Committee on Foreign Affairs where he deemed United States war policy in Vietnam to be the cause of "war crimes".
Have you ever felt like this
Like every time you swing, you miss?
If good things come to those who wait,
But a dollar short and a day too late
So I'll pack up my heart and run,
Cause I'm afraid of what we'll become,
And I feel I need some time from everyone.
You're like the perfect day in May,
But I watched you walk away,
And I didn't catch your name.
But if you pass back through the door,
I'll be the one you've waited for,
The one you will adore.
So what do I have to lose?
Say "hello" and make my move.
We'll leave town and drive all night,
If we're together everything's alright.
Well I'll pack up my heart and run,
Cause I'm afraid of what we'll become,
And I feel I need some time from everyone.
You're like the perfect day in May,
But I watched you walk away,
And I didn't catch your name.
But if you pass back through the door,
I'll be the one you've waited for,
The one you will adore.
Maybe this is good-bye.
Baby please don't cry.
It'll be alright.
Well if I had the courage to say hello,
We'd be on our way I know,
But I'm on my way alone (on my way, on my way alone!)
You're like the perfect day in May,
But I watched you walk away,
And I didn't catch your name (You walked away).
But if you pass back through the door,
I'll be the one you've waited for,
The one you will adore.
I wrote this down to say goodbye to you
I won't burn this bridge until you see this through
Let it go, so let it go now
Get back on your feet, no more excuses,
This is your chance, you don't want to lose this
Keep your heard above the water, it'll be alright
But don't say these things if you don't mean them,
My heart got tired, but it's still beating
If you feel it come on sing it, oh oh oh
Sing oh oh, sing oh oh oh
The least we can do it try, the least we can do is try
And the clocks start ticking slow,
I feel like breaking
With not a thing to do
Just walk right through this storm
My helpless feeling
Knowing this
Not knowing whats in store
I close my eyes
But I can't escape my mind
Please help me I'm sinking
I've been alone inside
Your the one I waited for
Fighting off these feelings
I've been so alone
So afraid to open the door
I feel like changing
But I've lost control
I just can't find my heart
I thought I was winning
By burning bridges and tearing things apart
I close my eyes
But I cant escape my mind
Please help me I'm sinking
I've been alone inside
Your the one I waited for
Fighting off these feelings
I've been so alone
So afraid to open the door
So sorry this is not who I am
Give me time I'll do all that I can
So sorry you were part of my plan (part of my plan)
So sorry this is not who I am
Please help me I'm sinking
I've been alone inside
Your the one I waited for
Fighting off these feelings
I've been so alone
So afraid to open the door
Please help me I'm sinking
I've been alone inside
Your the one I waited for
Fighting off these feelings
I've been so alone
What's the matter?
What are you crying for
I'm still outside your house
And I've been thinking
This is for the best
I'm just not sure how
This is ridiculous
I'm starting to stress out
This is not goodbye
Cause its not over
How I wish we could start this over
All the time you change your mind
Almost every time you say goodbye
This is not goodbye
So get yourself together
Or just walk away I'm just not going to fade
Oh in the middle
I wont waste my time
So change your mind and stay
This is ridiculous
I'm starting to stress out
This is not goodbye
Cause its not over
How I wish we could start this over
All the time you change your mind
Almost every time you say goodbye
This is not goodbye
Just the sound of your voice
Brings the slightest hope
If I'm still, I almost feel
We're not alone
Tell me its old
This is not goodbye
Cause its not over
How I wish we could start this over
All the time you change your mind
Almost every time you say goodbye
This is not goodbye
It's not goodbye
This is not goodbye
It's a desperate situation,
The kind of disposition that makes me feel,
So uptight I fear the worst has yet to come.
It's nights like these that haunt me.
Tie me down and stalk me,
memories.
This is interesting,
I thought all this was done.
And all that time I ran away from my heart.
When everything is broken
it's the choice you make that pulls you through!
Steel don't feel real strong,
In the wake of what's been done.
Such a cursed imagination,
Thoughts like ammunition,
The time has come.
More is beckoning,
is it all just in my mind?
Field in shape for battle,
Not sure what will happen in my defense.
This is crippling,
It's not just in my mind.
And all that time I ran away from my heart.
When everything is broken
it's the choice you make that pulls you through!
Steel don't feel real strong,
In the wake of what's been done.
Oh, oh
It's good,
It's old
Oh, oh
It's good?,
It's old
Oh, oh
It's good,
It's old
Oh, oh
And all this time I ran away from my heart.
When everything is broken
it's the choice you make that pulls you through!
Steel don't feel real strong!
When everything is broken
it's the choice you make that pulls you through!
Steel don't feel real strong
In the wake of what's been done.
In the wake of what's been done.
Sunshine
Coming through the windows and its so bright
Taking things slow cause we got time
It's finally here I finally feel alive
It's wait I've waited for (It's what I've waited for)
It's been so very long
Can you hear me?
Maybe I should sing more clearly
Somehow I need you near me
I just don't know how to say all these things
Long drives up and back down the coastline
Coming through the windows and its so bright
Taking things slow cause we got time
It's finally here I finally feel alive
It's wait I've waited for (It's what I've waited for)
It's been so very long
Can you hear me?
Maybe I should sing more clearly
Somehow I need you near me
I just don't know how to say all these things
This is something worth comparing
Something more than ordinary
This is something I will carry
Something more extraordinary
It's what I've waited for
It's what I've waited it for
Can you hear me?
Maybe I should sing more clearly
Maybe I should shout from the mountains
This is about to change everything
Can you hear me maybe?
Maybe I should sing more clearly
Somehow I need you near me
I just don't know how to say all these things [x2]
Welcome to America,
Where no one ever sleeps at night
Suburban life, where girls lose their appetites,
How did we get to here?
I don't know, but you are not alone,
There's so much more,
Than what you're waiting for
Hey, it's alright to let it go
It's not too late to come back home
Life it cruel and cold sometimes,
But please don't give up tonight
Your wounds can heal in time,
The scars can be left behind
How did we get to here?
In a wold full of maybes,
Where everything's changing
And everyone's going in different directions
Where everyone's crazy,
I'm just trying to break free
But the road just get's harder
Have you broken down, just given up?
Got turned around, abandoned hope
And your tired heart gave up the beat,
You drop your head in your defeat.
And all this pain, and all this fear,
Things have gotten worse this year.
Maybe I really hope that I can change things,
'cause if there's love for everyone,
Peace on earth,
Hope for things to come,
Please come
Nothing seems to your way,
It's hard to hear it'll be okay
Choke back the tears, embrace the feel,
Of brokenness so you can heal.
We all get hurt sometimes,
Oh, we all get scared sometimes
Fear, as loud as it screams,
Don't change your heart,
Don't fall apart
Please try.
We can't be afraid,
So we're not afraid
Are you afraid, afraid,
You keep saying that things will change,
It's time you wonder, will they ever?
You keep praying they go away, all your problems, all the drama.
Why are you so sad? (Why are you so sad?)
These are the best few years you'll ever have
Things just ain't so bad.
Just another subtle way for you to say your miserable and lonely
Don't grow up too fast must take a chance
We can start this over
There's almost nothing we can't get through
So just remember its getting better
When things get tough just keep on breathing
Hour by hour, just keep on moving
Why are you so sad? (Why are you so sad?)
These are the best few years you'll ever have
Things just ain't so bad.
Just another subtle way for you to say your miserable and lonely
Don't grow up too fast, must take a chance
We can start this over
I was drowning in the distance
Theres no way you could ever miss this
Such a shame you'd watch me sink alone.
I took a stand and faced the world
It's a bitter time you began to turn
I realized now theres no way I could stop
So here I am alive and strong
Not on a string to carry on
Just like soldiers we'll be marching on
Why are you so sad? (Why are you so sad)
These are the best few years you'll ever have
Things just ain't so bad.
Just another subtle way for you to say your miserable and lonely
Don't grow up too fast must take a chance
We can start this over
Let's go
Why are you so sad? (Why are you sad?)
Summer nights, lit up by flashlights,
Won't you take my hand let's get away
On top of buildings,
Or watching all your movies,
Now you've got my time
Let's get away
Now you've got me where my heart is,
Tell me that you need this,
Tell me that you want this so badly it hurts
And the nightlife,
Taking walks and train rides,
Now you've got my time
Let's get away
Now you've got me where my heart is,
Tell me that you need this,
Tell me that you want this so badly it hurts
I don't wanna take the flight home,
I'm tired of being all alone,
Tell me that you want this so badly it hurts
I'm gonna take more chances,
Make big plans and follow through
I'm tired of not believing;
Holding back those feelings, let 'em go
So follow through, please follow through,
It's not enough to say you're trying,
Everyone here knows you're lying now
Just let it go
God, I'm so sorry I never meant to, become such a cynical bot
But the world all around me is stealing my heart
And wasting all my time
So this is all I have to give you
I'm waiting, waiting, for better days to come and save me
Hoping, praying, patiently, just waiting
It's not enough to say you're changing,
Years go by we're still the same
And now, we can't let go
Oh I'm so sorry, I never meant to hurt myself like this
When you settle for less, it's always best,
To break before it lasts
Oh I'm so sorry I never meant to,
Become such a cynical boy in December
But the world keeps on changing,
Ooo oooo oooo
I can feel it in my bones
All the change thats bound to come, I can't wait
I was fighting this for years
A slave to worry and to fear
It all stops here
What I've seen what I've done
Has only prepared whats to come
Ive got nothing left to lose
So this is progress
And this I promise
To not lose heart this year
May I have your attention
So I can mention
I wont back down to fear
[Anthony Raneri:]
I was lost and so confused
Running circles around you
I thank the stars that I found my way
Now Back to the simple things in life
Day to day, just getting by
Counting sheep and highway signs
Thats just fine
What I've seen what I've done
Has only prepared whats to come
Ive got nothing left to lose
So this is progress
And this I promise
To not lose heart this year
May I have your attention
So I can mention
I wont back down to fear
Oh went through years of searching
Just trying to find that purpose
I feel a sense of progress
And oh after years of hurting
So much I felt like breaking
I feel a sense of strength and hope
What I've seen what I've done
Has only prepared whats to come
Ive got nothing left to lose
So this is progress
And this I promise
To not lose heart this year
So this is progress
And this I promise
To not lose heart this year
Can I have your attention
So I can mention
I wont back down to fear (I won't back down to fear)
So this is progress (this is progress)
And this I promise
To not lose heart this year (I won't lose heart this year)
May I have your attention (attention)
So I can mention
the family fell apart with a strict blow
from an ill-divine addiction
transfixed on its own
undulating survivor rate
for the sake of right mind and public relation
we will call it extreme circumstances
so bite your tongue and open your eyes
as we dance on your grave
my fingers are cocked
and ready to throw back
gratuity and crucial sedatives
blow
for the sake of right mind and public relation
we will call it extreme circumstances
so bite your tongue and open your eyes
as we dance on your grave
you have to break this silence
you have a cyclical sickness
its love is viscious
you have a cyclical sickness
this is my lover's tryst
for the sake of right mind and public relation
we will call it extreme circumstances
so bite your tongue and open your eyes
Well line 'em up, boys, it's the end of the night
Gonna take 'em around, have 'em sleep in the sky
They say it's not allowed, they say it's not allowed
Gotta prove 'em wrong
Well, you can knock once, but they'll never return
And I'm banging with my fingers and it's starting to burn
This isn't new to me, this isn't new to me
Gotta feel it out
'Cause now I've learned that nothing stays
We're meant to give it away, so let it erase itself
And everything is in a bit of a hurry
So why don't you look at what you're falling for
At what you're falling for
Can you get us to the north? It's the end of the road
I think I'm losing you now, try and follow
Is it impossible? Singing loud now to block it out
There's so much to it all, want to simplify
I've been counting on a reason for a little while
In a second, we just need a second here to finish it
'Cause now I've learned that nothing stays
We're meant to give it away, so let it erase itself
And everything is in a bit of a hurry
So why don't you look at what you're falling for
At what you're falling for
Can you not see it? We're flying down
Send all the owls, send all the owls now
And now I've learned that nothing stays
We're meant to give it away, so let it erase itself
And everything is in a bit of a hurry
So why don't you look at what you're falling for
At what you're falling for
'Cause now I've learned that nothing stays anymore
And now I've learned that nothing stays anymore
I can't stand to see your eyes when they're aiming at the floor,
But the worst is knowing I'm the reason for your bitter heart.
And with my head in my hands, I'm thinking of the things I've done so wrong
Though it's what I deserve, never take the melody from my song.
'Cause you're a lullaby playing through the tragedy
That I listen for to brighten up the dark
That's been romancing and keeping us asleep
So now the quiet came around, found a soul muted deeper than its own
And all his luggage piled in the room, he knows he's gonna have to stay for a while
And with my feet on the ground, I wonder how I'm gonna escape from the flood
Though it's what I deserve, I never want to have to decide to give up
'Cause you're a lullaby playing through the tragedy
That I listen for to brighten up the dark
That's been romancing and keeping us asleep
Can't you see?
You're looking awful anxious.
Well, settle down.
Take a break and figure out.
You shouldn't be paranoid, or should you?
Is there a warning out and you're not telling us?
Well explain yourself, or try to.
It's getting harder to ignore it
With the vital signs facing outward.
Joker, you've cornered yourself from it all
And now you are, you're looking awful anxious.
Well make a plan.
Draw it up and document
You want to be ready when they're questioning.
So you modify to find the only door is high.
I guess you better find a cake that'll make you grow.
It's getting harder to ignore it
With the vital signs facing outward.
Joker, you've cornered yourself from it all
And now you are, you're looking awful anxious.
I saw you hiding out.
Does it make it harder for you to sneak around now?
It's getting harder to ignore it
With the vital signs facing outward.
Joker, you've cornered yourself from it all
So they brought me here to show how to live
I'm guessing they never thought it out
I could pace the room for the seventh time
And hope to feel alive again
If I follow it, follow it in too far
(In a way, it's a shame, but...)
If I follow it, follow it in too far
But there's another chapter waiting there
Hesitate.
But there's another chapter waiting there
Listen in.
Try to feel it out, fooling myself,
But another chapter waiting there
Still a little further on
Try the pieces out, see if any amount
Begging the sun to wake me up
And the miles ought to add up a lot
But I don't seem to care a bit
If I follow it, follow it in too far
(In a way, it's a shame, but...)
If I follow it, follow it in too far
But there's another chapter waiting there
Hesitate.
But there's another chapter waiting there
Listen in.
Try to feel it out, fooling myself,
But another chapter waiting there
Still a little further on
I want you to know I can see
That when your chemical highs have you feeling alive,
Well, you're dead, already dead.
Another chapter waiting
Another chapter waiting
Try to feel it out, fooling myself,
But another chapter waiting there
Still a little further on
Gonna make you feel alive; you're ready.
Still a little further on
Gonna make you feel alive; you're ready.
Still a little further on
Another chapter waiting
Another chapter waiting
I don't really want to know if this isn't how it seems.
So give it a chance and see if you know what I mean.
Lights are making plans to cover up.
Turn around and walk away.
I know we can make it through,
Make it back to the town in the sky
We've waited our whole lives,
And now it's time to begin.
Give it away, don't forget we're all safe
And now it's right in the end.
Now I'll hold my mouth to keep from saying what I really think.
All of us spent too much time here listening in.
Lights are making plans to cover up.
Turn around and walk away.
I know we can make it through,
Make it back to the town in the sky
We've waited our whole lives,
And now it's time to begin.
Ladders are lining along,
So what are you so worried about?
Just try and pretend you'll go.
Try to pretend.
Lights are making plans to cover up all of you.
Turn around and walk away.
I know we can make it through,
Make it back to the town in the sky
We've waited our whole lives,
And now it's time to begin
Give it away, don't forget we're all safe
And now it's right in the end.
The town in the sky
We've waited our whole lives,
And now it's time to begin
Give it away, don't forget we're all safe
I hope you brought your clever eyes
You better fill it up,
We're driving 'til the sun gets tired
Forget about the worrying,
It don't concern us anymore
When it comes down to it,
Nothing's gonna stop us with the pedal at the floor
Labeled as a sucker in the new generation
Doesn't even matter 'cause we like it better singing
Hey, we're doing what we wanted
I'll take my life where I'm supposed to
Hey, we're living like we ought to
I'll take my life where I'm supposed to
We're out to get what we desire
But they think it's so bizarre
And that it's adding to the fire
We're finding out a better way
And learning more than we were told of before
Don't believe in what they're saying
'Cause the fame is really what they're coming for
Labeled as a sucker in the new generation
Doesn't even matter 'cause we like it better singing
Hey, we're doing what we wanted
I'll take my life where I'm supposed to
Hey, we're living like we ought to
I'll take my life where I'm supposed to
Maybe we'll learn a bit
Don't need advice when I can live it out, live it out
And the lines on the road are only to escape (from it)
Hey, we're doing what we wanted
I'll take my life where I'm supposed to
Hey, we're living like we ought to
I'll take my life where I'm supposed to
Living like we're supposed to
Living like we're supposed to
Hey, like we're supposed to
I'm so lost in love
don't want to be found
under these purple clouds
I wanna be lost in love
I'm so lost in love
don't want my whereabouts
at the foot of the mountain
I wanna be lost in love
where do I start
this mixed media art?
you climbed the charts
and took over my heart
far from a farce
if you like it I'll carve
our initials in bark
my love like a spark
that can flame the big bang
and nothing you can say
can break my array
even if you were to say
you don't feel the same way
I'd wait for the day
that we'd embrace
even in the case
I'd wait in the grave
more than I need me
need her sweet deity
on my knees begging please
I love you more than anything
more than the first
more than the next
in sickness til death
where I'd call you collect
every millisec
in hopes to express
the rest in treble clef
that went over your head
lemme pick up loose ends
love the touch of your skin
I love your more than my friends
this is more than pretend
[Chorus]
She can Be My
Little Stoner Chick
and I'll kiss her
on the lips like its
the last kiss I'll ever
there she goes
down the road
hips throwed
to and fro
went from looking quite stoned
to looking like I was on coke
she's a blooming rose
an angel in human clothes
truth be told my hearts been sold
before I could propose
I've got nothing but reverence
for her feminine presence
wanna shower you with kesses
from the steps of heaven
atop crescent moon and set
of seven stars
atop a moonlit park
forgetting where we are
carve our initials
your eyes shimmering like crystals
I kiss you like I miss you
which is when cupid hit you
feeling like a snake bit you
put our issues in the past
all I ask lets make this last
and don't look back
[Chorus]
She can Be My
Little Stoner Chick
and I'll kiss her
on the lips like its
the last kiss I'll ever
Its a supernatural touch from a secret admirer
The melody of her voice is what brings me higher
Ya its going to far to wanna stand by her
I just need some audio with her as supplier
[refrain x4:]
Call Me Im waiting by the phone
Call Me if you dont want to be alone
Rain, rain drops and here I stand
With my face against the window here I am
As the clouds flow, flow in the sky
With my face against the window here am I
The desaturated blue encouraging my depression
No hope for the phone is what Im guessing
But Ill wait, wait here just to see
If youll pick up that phone and indulge in me
Call Me Im waiting by the phone
Call Me if you dont want to be alone
Lights turned off in this home
I hold to the knowledge Ill be alone
At least until you pick up that phone
Give me a ring, bring me home
Here is the place, here is the place Im living
Your voice is the place Im driven
The sound is reverberating in my ears
The sound will hold true for many years
Dont tell me theres someone else on your line
If it were your girlfriend Id be fine
But if you were to share your voice to another man
I couldnt take it no way I can
Here is the place the place Im living
Your voice is the place, the place Im driven
The sound is reverberating in my ears
That sound will hold true for many years
Call Me Im waiting by the phone
Let's run off another take of this
Put it up against the list
What was it was like before us
"Oh those were the days"
But I don't complain
This is for the better
Let's make out like we've been allowed
There's are no strangers in this town
The new ones will adore us
Another marching day
But I don't dare complain
That this is for the better
Dirty faces and old prescriptions
Sound advice but no one listens
Looking out for my interest
We're well equipped to go the distance
Hold out, the deal is going to pay
It's the bet we always take
We're making up for last time
I wish I could complain
"Oh those were the days"
But this is for the better
Calling in all favors
We're all making changes
Operating on contingencies
I have been invertebrated
I am completely automated
I'm half machine, half procreated
I was designed to be proactive
And can't be easily distracted
I don't worry of the weather
My interests here are tightly tethered
I was designed to know my place
I know my concern
Is to be seen and not heard
I'm happily subordinated
I'm over clocked and understated
I'm under constant surveillance and
I'm down for the maintenance
I'm always cautious of new models
And the process that they follow
I'm completely automated
i'm half machine, half procreated
