Yum! I added another half cup of banana and a bit more chocolate. I also used coconut oil (healthier). Absolutely divine.

Absolutely delicious. I used 1 cup of choc chips, as suggested by others, and don't think it needed any more. So yummy when it was still warm as the choc chips were soft and gooey. We all loved it.

AMAZING! I only had dark choc and only used 1 cup and it was PLENTY! Super moist. Did not have mixed spice so I used nutmeg and cinnamon. BEST banana loaf I have ever had!

OMG. No words can describe this delicious, moist, mouthwatering cake. The only thing I changes was the mixed spice, instead I used cinnamon.

Had to hold hubby back from eating the whole loaf in 5 mins - 7 yo just as impressed recess for 1 day sorted! Only used 1C of choc bits and replaced 1C of flour with wholemeal SR.

This cake is delicious! I only had dark choc bits so i added 1 cup and it is so yummy - i think 1.5 cups of choc would be a bit too much as mentioned in some of the other reviews.

Mine was golden brown & beautifully risen after 45 minutes so I took it out of the oven. However, it then shrunk in the middle. Next time I will definitely leave it in for 50 minutes. The cooked parts tasted sensational- I will certainly make again.

Super easy loaf to make, so much so that I made two on the one day. I put milk chocolate chips in the first loaf and dark chocolate chips in the second. Both were delicious.

This tasted delicious and was certainly very easy and very moist but it wasn't the prettiest banana bread I've ever made! Mine was saggy and the top was cracked, it was almost as if the loaf couldn't hold itself up. Taste wise though - no complaints (and I guess that's what matters most)...

Quick and delicious! Great way to use up the mountain of Easter eggs my 3yo received!

A really easy and nice recipe. I did find there was too much chocolate though. Could do with less. However, my husband and brother would not agree! They loved the abundance of chocolatey-goodness.

Super easy & super tasty. Used wholemeal self raising flour instead of white, only used 1/3 cup of choc chips and added a tablespoon of coco powder. Overall delicious.

Mmmmm delicious! Only put in a cup of dark choc chips and that was plenty. Will definitely make this again =D

Made this bread just now but instead of putting in chocolate, replace it with 1/2 cup of Dutch cocoa and it turned out beautifully! (I wanted to make it a bit healthier). Really moist and will definitely make this again!

This recipe is so yum! Its lovely and moist and keeps well. For an easy variation, I make it into muffins and pop them in the freezer for the kids to pull out for a school lunch treat :) Its one of my most used recipes and I always get comments and requests for it.

Super yummy and moist! Only put in a cup of dark choc chips and that was plenty. Lady finger bananas worked well too. Great that there is no need for an electric mixer either!

My husband loves this bread. I make it at the beginning of the week and he takes it for work every day for lunch. He says it is very yummy and please make it next week. Definietly a winner in my book!!

What a fabulous sweet bread! I used good old aussie old gold dark chocolate. I added and extra banana and was worried it would not rise.....it turned out perfect. I did not have any mixed spice so, I just used some cinnamon. It is delicious warm. I would highly recommend this. Very moist and delish. It would also go down a treat with some vanilla ice cream
4.5Carles added this comment at 04:45am Fri 3rd February, 2012
This recipe is incredible!! I had 3 over-ripe bananas and the rest of the ingredients were pantry staples. I used all 3 bananas and I didn't have mixed spice so i substituted that for cinnamon. Also I had a bag of white choc chips so I used those instead of milk or dark. The result was heavenly!! I took it to work and was told it was 'the best banana bread i've ever tasted'! Very easy, no electric mixer required, delicious end result!

made this the other day. then promptly had to make another the day after. i used 200g of dark chocolate because i love that chocolate flavour. I also used wholemeal self raising flower. the mixed spice was a delicious touch to it also. cooked it for 50 minutes and it was perfection. this is now a permanent recipie in my arsenal. thanks muchly. =]

I tried this recipe for the first time this afternoon - I'll certainly add it to my favourite recipe list. Very moist, good flavours of banana and chocolate with neither too strong. I did cut back the chocolate though - I thought 1.5 cups was a bit too much. My husband and toddler thought it was great. Lovely eaten warm!

I love this recipe - it's a regular in our household. I use 1pkt of dark choc chips and that's heaps. And I use a ring-tin so it's easy to make nice little slices for the lunchboxes. Someimes I drizzle melted chocolate over the top after it's cooled for a special effect. Yummo!

Substituted milk chocolate for dark and only used 1 cup, added half cup walnuts to make up the difference. Really yummy!

This is quite good. For the chocolate, I used a mixture of chopped dark chocolate and dark chocolate chips. Nice and moist.

Absolutely delicious. Wonderfully moist and tasty. A huge hit with the family and playgroup mums! I've bought bananas just so they go over ripe and I can make it again!

Love this banana Bread/loaf. I double the mix and still only add 1 1/2 cups chocolate chips to try and keep it a little bit healthy. slice and wrap in plastic wrap and freeze for lunch box treat. kids love it. YUMMY!

Oh my God!! This is loaf is deadly. I'm having to ration myself to a slice for morning tea, and maybe afternoon tea and OK just one thin slice after dinner. Damm having over ripe bananas in the house!!

I made this for the kids as I don't like banana but even I loved this cake!! Will definitely be making again. I stuck to the recipe and it was perfect

This cake was well received by the family, I used vegetable oil as I didn't have any olive oil. I also ran out of chocolate chips(I had half a cup left over from another recipe) so made up the difference with coconut. The cake was a bit dry the next day but warmed up with ice-cream was still yummy!

This has to be one of the best banana bread recipes around. Did not use any chocolate as I am not a huge fan(I know.....something wrong there). So easy with a wonderful taste.

Easy, easy recipe with a robust banana flavour and the chocolate makes it special so stands out from other banana loaves. Good for lunches and or morning tea

Very nice cake! A bit too rich to have for breakfast with all the chocolate added. Not a fan for chocolate with banana. But still tasted really nice. very easy and moist! 5/5

This was a hit with the twins in there lunch boxes. Sadly not a hit with me, would of liked more banana flavouring ... could of been the bananas I had though. All in all it was nice.

I agree with the other comments: very nice especially when warm and simple to make chosen by me because it has no butter.
