The Catholic Faith Handbook for Youth, Second Edition

Most parish youth ministries and catholic high schools in my diocese seem to have adopted this book as either a resource or text book. It is clear, concise, faithful to the catechism, and able to articulate the faith at an age-appealing level. This book and the Catholic Youth Bible should go hand in hand as the two essentials that every teen should have.

I am a CCD teacher and retreat facilitator and I feel that the Catholic Faith Handbook offers so much information that both youth and adults are unaware of. I've learned a lot myself.

As a catechist for the junior and high school divisions, I do strongly recommend this book as a supplement for high students preparing for the sacrament of Confirmation. We do not base our curriculum on this book, but our students are required to have it just as the title refers, "handbook". They have readings assigned from this book and often they refer back to it when they have questions pertaining to prayers, history, saints, doctrines,etc. of the Catholic religion. Although it has been a very useful book; UNFORTUNATELY it is outdated. In 2011, our church has made changes in the translation of the mass, therefore certain prayers and creeds, such as the Nicene Creed, need to be updated. I am hoping St. Mary's Press can print a third edition for these significant changes.

Everything you need to know about the basics of Catholicism at a High School Level. I highly recommend it to anyone who is maybe new to the faith or maybe going through Confirmation.

An invaluable reference book for young Catholics. We use it as a required text along with our other Confirmation materials. Every home should have a copy.

My Confirmation students use this in their two year Sacramental preparation. Vauable information on Scripture, Tradition, Revelation, the Trinity, and Catholic Social Teaching just to name a few topics.

I love this book. The mix of history, scripture, and contemporary thought really cannot be much better. Superb writing and so much I learned from this.

Perfect tool for a High school Student. The lessons review bookmarks are very good. The details, level of teaching, excellent!

Clear information and good source of resource for any person (youth or adult). Used it during my RCIA and it helped cleared up my questions tremendously. It's a keeper and a loaner.
