January 30, 2015 (Persian calendar 1393/11/10) Kerman province (استان كرمان) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Kerman_P... Turquoise is an opaque, blue-to-green mineral that is a hydrous phosphate of copper and aluminium. It is rare and valuable in finer grades and has been prized as a gem and ornamental stone for thousands of years owing to its unique hue. In recent times, turquoise, like most other opaque gems, has been devalued by the introduction of treatments, imitations, and synthetics onto the market. The substance has been known by many names, but the word turquoise, which dates to the 16th century, is derived from an Old French word for "Turkish", because the mineral was first brought to Europe from Turkey, from the mines in historical Khorasan Province of Iran. Pliny the Elder referred to the mineral as callais, the Iranians named it "phirouzeh فيروزه" and the Aztecs knew it as Teoxihuitl. For at least 2,000 years, Iran, known before as Persia in the West, has remained an important source of turquoise which was named by Iranians initially "pirouzeh پيروزه" meaning "victory" and later after Arab invasion "firouzeh فيروزه" (In Arabic P پ doesn't exist this is why they change the letter to F ف). In Iranian architecture, the blue turquoise was used to cover the domes of the Iranian palaces because its intense blue color was also a symbol of heaven on earth.

The surface of the sand there has been measured at temperatures as high as 70.7°C (159°F) and it is one of the world's driest and hottest places. Measurements of MODIS (Moderate-Resolution Imaging Spectroradiometer) installed on NASA's satellite "Aqua" from 2003 to 2010 testify that the hottest land surface on Earth is located in Dasht-e Lut and land surface temperatures reach here 70.7 °C (159.3 °F), though the air temperature is cooler. Precision of measurements is 0.5 K to 1 K. The hottest part of Dasht-e Lut is Gandom Beryan گندم بريان, a large plateau covered in dark lava, approximately 480 square kilometers (190 sq mi) in area. According to a local legend, the name (in translation from Persian "Toasted wheat" گندم بريان) originates from an accident where a load of wheat was left in the desert which was then scorched by the heat in a few days.

Jeremy Kerman lives in a small house on the Homeland continent, just north of the KSC. There was never anything particularly interesting about Jeremy, up until this day, in which an strange and unintentional series of events flip Jeremy's world upside down... In episode 3, Jeremy's bad luck makes matters worse for everyone at the space center, and Major Polston and Dougie Kerman are left to prevent Jeremy's clumsy mistakes turning into a national disaster. Perhaps I over did the voice acting just a little near the end there. :P So, I admit that the delay between episode 2 and 3 may have been longer than I had originally estimated... Did it take a year to produce one episode of JK? Well... no, but I lost interest in making videos for a while. Kinda became a bit tired of it. But as the summer months of 2014 arrive, I hope that perhaps I can devote more time to producing content that you guys (apparently) enjoy. :) Mods: Kerbcam 4.0 for the swooshy camera shots. Irna 2014-11-24Kerman Province (Persian: استان کرمان, Ostān-e Kermān ) is one of the 31 provinces of Iran. Kerman is located in the south-east of Iran with its administrative center in the city of Kerman. Mentioned in ancient times as the Achamenid satrapy of Carmania, it is the second largest province of Iran with an area of 180,726 km². [2]. The population of the province is about 3 million (9th in the country). The main townships of Kerman province are: Baft, Bardsir, Bam, Jiroft, joupar, Rafsanjan, Zarand, Sirjan, Shahr-e-Babak, Kerman, Mahan, Rayen, Kahnuj, Ghale-Ganj, Manujan, Roodbar-e-Jonob, Anbar Abad, and Ravar.
In the year 1996, 52.9% of Kerman's population lived in urban areas, and 46% in the rural vicinities, the remaining 1.1% accounted as non residents. The city of Kerman (population: 750,000) embraces about 80% of the urban population, being the most developed and largest city of the province.
The altitudes and heights of the province are the continuation of the central mountain ranges of Iran. They extend from the volcanic folds beginning in Azarbaijan, and by branching out in the central plateau of Iran, terminate in Baluchestan. These mountain ranges have brought about vast plains in the province of Kerman. The Bashagard and Kuh-e Banan Mountains are the highest in this region, and include peaks such as Toghrol, Aljerd, Palvar, Sirach, Abareq and Tahrood. Other ranges that stretch out from Yazd to Kerman and Challeh-ye-Jazmoorian include peaks like Medvar, Shahr-e-Babak, Kuh-e Panj, Chehel Tan, Lalezar, Hezarbahr, Aseman and others.
Kerman (Persian: كرمان, also Romanized as Kermān and Kirman; also known as Carmania) is a city in and capital of Kerman Province, Iran. At the 2006 census, its population was 515,114, in 127,806 families, being 13th most populous city in Iran at that time. It's the largest and most developed city in the Kerman Province and also the major city in South-East of Iran. It is one of the largest cities of Iran in terms of area. Kerman is famous for its long history and strong cultural heritage. The city is home to many historic mosques and Zoroastrian fire temples. Kerman is in the list of recent world record of 1000 clean cities. Kerman was formerly the capital of Iran during several periods of time. Located in a large and flat plain, this city is located 1,036 km (643 mi) south of Tehran, the capital of Iran.
Kerman was founded as a defensive outpost, with the name Behdesīr, by Ardeshir I, founder of the Sassanid Empire, in the 3rd century AD. After the Battle of Nahāvand in 642, the city came under Muslim rule. At first the city's isolation allowed Kharijites and Zoroastrians to thrive there, but the Kharijites were wiped out in 698, and the population was mostly Muslim by 725. Already in the eighth century the city was famous for its manufacture of cashmere wool shawls and other textiles. The Abbasid Caliphate's authority over the region was weak, and power passed in the tenth century to the Buyid dynasty, which maintained control even when the region and city fell to Mahmud of Ghazna in the late tenth century. The name Kerman was adopted at some point in the tenth century.
