Picture that person when you are singing the song. I'll post more tips at www.songsforchildren.org for this song if you want more tips. Enjoy and good luck!
Warning. Western Sahara and Somaliland are not officially recognized countries at the time this was made but they are big chunks of the map that were useful for the song so they made the cut.

Rüschlikon is a village in Switzerland with a very low tax rate and very wealthy residents. But it receives more tax revenue than it can use. This is largely thanks to one resident - Ivan Glasenberg, CEO of Glencore, whose copper mines in Zambia are not generating a large bounty tax revenue for the Zambians. Zambia has the 3rd largest copper reserves in the world, but 60% of the population live on less than $1 a day and 80% are unemployed. Based on original research into public documents, the film describes the tax system employed by multinational companies in Africa.

Description:
The World Economic Forum (WEF) report for 2014 identifies two critical leadership problems globally -- the first is that there is a leadership deficit, and the second is that there is a lack of trust in policies and programmes pursued by leaders. Good leadership will be crucial for enabling Africa to exploit the window of opportunity that has opened up in the past decade, notably its natural resource boom. However, experience indicates that leaders that are resourceful and accountable may be more important "initial conditions" for the development and transformation of their countries than resource abundance per se. Where leadership was inadequate, the pace of industrialization and innovation stagnated, and in some cases was reversed, irrespective of the size of the resource base. In the absence of good leadership, Africa will not be able to reach its global potential. That leadership should be able to produce domestic consensus or coalitions that ensure that sufficient resources and political attention are key to the goal of economic transformation. Some prerequisite elements are a capable state; government and private sector collaboration; a supportive environment for competitiveness; and continuous leveraging and development of the knowledge base.
Issues for Discussion
1. How can we nurture visionary African leadership to address any leadership deficit and engender trust in policies?
2. Does Africa need effective institutions more than it needs strong leaders?

As the turmoil of revolutions brought economic instability to many African countries, their citizens began to look across the sea, to Europe, for a chance to improve their lives. The Italian island of Lampedusa is often seen as “a gateway” to the EU paradise. Getting there, though, can be sheer hell. The journey is hard to arrange: it’s costly and travelers are at the mercy of boatmen, often unscrupulous traffickers. The waters are treacherous and have already claimed hundreds of lives. The authorities are determined to intercept would-be illegal immigrants before they can reach the EU border. Yet, in spite of all the hardship and danger, desperate African men and women continue to take their chances. Those who survive and reach the island for which they risked their lives, soon discover that, without papers or knowing the language, the future in a foreign country may be even more uncertain than in their own.

The Rwandan genocide sparked a horrific bloodbath that swept across sub-Saharan Africa, ultimately leading to the deaths of some four million people. In this extraordinary history of the recent wars in Central Africa, Gerard Prunier offers a gripping account of how one grisly episode laid the groundwork for a sweeping and disastrous upheaval. Prunier vividly describes the grisly aftermath of the Rwandan genocide, when some two million refugees--a third of Rwanda's population--fled to exile in Zaire in 1996. The new Rwandan regime then crossed into Zaire and attacked the refugees, slau

Huge wave of migration through the Balkans by people fleeing Syria, Afghanistan and African countries hits Macedonia as migrants try to get to western Europe via the Balkans instead of crossing the Mediterranean by boats. Africa's World War: Congo, the Rwandan Genocide, and the Making of a Continental — Download
Download Here: http://tinyurl.com/pkjs4yt
The Rwandan genocide sparked a horrific bloodbath that swept across sub-Saharan Africa, ultimately leading to the deaths of some four million people. In this extraordinary history of the recent wars in Central Africa, Gerard Prunier offers a gripping account of how one grisly episode laid the groundwork for a sweeping and disastrous upheaval. Prunier vividly describes the grisly aftermath of the Rwandan genocide, when some two million refugees--a third of Rwanda's population--fled to exile in Zaire in 1996. The new Rwandan regime then crossed into Zaire and attacked the refugees, slaughtering upwards of 400,000 people. The Rwandan forces then turned on Zaire's despotic President Mobutu and, with the help of a number of allied African countries, overthrew him. But as Prunier shows, the collapse of the Mobutu regime and the ascension of the corrupt and erratic Laurent-Désiré Kabila created a power vacuum that drew Rwanda, Uganda, Angola, Zimbabwe, Sudan, and other African nations into an extended and chaotic war. The heart of the book documents how the whole core of the African continent became engulfed in an intractible and bloody conflict after 1998, a devastating war that only wound down following the assassination of Kabila in 2001. Prunier not only captures all this in his riveting narrative, but he also indicts the international community for its utter lack of interest in what was then the largest conflict in the world. Praise for the hardcover:"The most ambitious of several remarkable new books that reexamine the extraordinary tragedy of Congo and Central Africa since the Rwandan genocide of 1994."--New York Review of Books"One of the first books to lay bare the complex dynamic between Rwanda and Congo that has been driving this disaster."--Jeffrey Gettleman, New York Times Book Review"Lucid, meticulously researched and incisive, Prunier's will likely become the standard account of this under-reported tragedy."--Publishers Weekly

STORY:
Huge wave of migration through the Balkans by people fleeing Syria, Afghanistan and African countries hits Macedonia as migrants try to get to western Europe via the Balkans instead of crossing the Mediterranean by boats. The country's parliament is expected today to change the law to give migrants legal passage through Macedonia within 72 hours as EU member Hungary says it will build a 4-metre high fence to keep out migrants who reach the country via Serbia

Map of Africa Song
Map of Africa Song
Music makes memory stick. Memorize the map of Africa by singing a song to a tune you already know. Set to the traditional song This Little Light of Mine, learn this song and get an A on your Africa map test.
Route: Like a puzzle we do the edges first. Starting at the bottom and going clockwise which is to the left and up if you didn't know that yet. Second we fill in the middle and then head out and do the islands. There are lots of clues in the song and abbreviations like DR. Congo is Democratic Republic of Congo. CAR is Central African Republic. If you can picture a specific car like a monster truck or a Ferrari or something you really are into you will remember better. Know anyone named Chad, Molly?

High Level Event II -- Leadership for the Africa we Want - Kigali, Wednesday 22 May 2015
Welcome Remarks:
Dr. Donald Kaberuka, President of AfDB Group
Panelists:
- H. E. Paul Kagame, President of Rwanda
- H. E. Uhuru Kenyatta, President of Kenya
- Dr. Nkosazana Clarice Dlamini-Zuma, Chairperson, African Union Commission
- H. E. Thabo Mvuyelwa Mbeki, former President, Republic of South Africa
- Hon. Olusegun Obasanjo, former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria
- Dr. Mo Ibrahim, Founder and Chair, Mo Ibrahim Foundation

Malawian repatriate 'I will never return to South Africa
In April 2015, xenophobic attacks in South Africa caused outrage across the continent and beyond. At least seven people died and thousands more fled the country.
Those perpetrating the violence claimed the citizens of other African countries were going to South Africa to steal their jobs and livelihoods.
Of those who fled back to their home countries, some are trickling back to South Africa but others, such as Jack Matamandi, have vowed never to return.
