Join the SWP

Unlike most organisations we are funded by our members alone. Your regular membership subscription will enable us to continue our proud tradition of building a socialist organisation within the movement.

We prefer people to pay by direct debit which gives us regular payments to organise. If you can pay by direct debit please fill in the form at the bottom of this page.

If you are unable to pay by direct debit please fill in our alternate form or download a membership form (PDF file).

We recommend that people pay the following amounts.

Unemployed/FE/School — £2 per month

University students — £5 per month

Employed — £10-£30 per month depending on income and circumstances.

Your account will be debited by the amount indicated every month on the date specified. Direct debit is only available to British residents with British bank accounts.

All the normal direct debit safeguards and guarantees apply. No changes in the amount, date or frequency to be debited can be made without notifying you at least ten working days in advance of your account being debited. In the event of any error you are entitles to an immediate refund from your bank or building society. You have the right to cancel a direct debit instruction at any time simply by writing to your bank or building society, with a copy to us.

In order to set-up a direct debit on line you must be the account holder of a personal bank or building society account. If you are not the only required signatory on your account, or you would rather send us a paper version of this form download the join the SWP form here (PDF file).

Banks and building societies may not accept direct debits for some types of account

The direct debit guarantee

This guarantee is offered by all banks and building societies that take part in the direct debit scheme. The efficiency and security of the scheme is monitored and protected by your own bank or building society.
If the amounts to be paid or the payment dates change, the Socialist Workers Party will notify you ten working days in advance of your account being debited or as otherwise agreed.
If an error is made by the Socialist Workers Party or your bank or building society, you are guaranteed a full and immediate refund from your branch of the amount paid.
You can cancel a direct debit at any time by writing to your bank or building society. Please also send a copy of your letter to us.
