Response to Cutlerylover's April Fool's prank
In response to Jeff's fake but very funny April Fool's prank video, I decided I'd show what some real leg wounds look like :D I totaled my Freightliner on December 28th, 2004. The cab of the truck was knocked off of the frame in the accident and I ended up with most of the weight of the cab on my right leg below the knee for nearly an hour. I was fortunate in that I didn't break any bones in my leg but there was a great deal of soft tissue damage that caused several massive hematomas to develop. One of those massive hematomas later liquified and became very infected. It started to drain one day and there was cellulitis traveling up my leg. I developed a very high fever and was admitted to the hospital within hours. They had to perform surgery on my leg to open the fluid sac and to remove some necrotic tissue from around the area where it had started to drain. I ended up with a 21cm long opening in the back of my calf that healed very slowly to the point it's at now in the video. In total, there was over a liter of fluid drained from my leg. The more recent opening on the front of my leg is from a new abscess that developed a little over a week ago. I had a large lump start to show up on my shin that was very tender. It burst open and started bleeding so we went to the ER. They did an I&D and cleaned it out then sent me home with Iodoform gauze and wound care instructions. Enjoy my disfigured leg!
