George Fenton (born George Richard Ian Howe; October 19, 1950) is an English composer best known for his work writing film scores and music for television such as for the BBC series The Blue Planet and Planet Earth.
Fenton was born in London and attended St Edward's School in Oxford where "he learnt his music" from Peter Whitehouse. He has no further formal training in music. Fenton's involvement with St Edward's continued as an adult and he has been a governor of the school since 1998.
Initially Fenton worked as an actor, getting an early break in 1968 with a part in Alan Bennett's first West End play Forty Years On. He had some success as an actor in the early 1970s appearing in the film Private Road, in Alan Bennett's first television play A Day Out directed by Stephen Frears, and in the soap opera Emmerdale Farm.
In 1969 Fenton tried his hand as a recording artist with a cover of The Beatles song Maxwell's Silver Hammer and in 1973 he dabbled in band management helping to get the folk-rock band Hunter Muskett a recording contract with Bradley's Records.
L'Amour et Psyché, enfants (translated: Cupid and Psyche as Children, 1890, Salon of 1890, No. 330) is one of William-Adolphe Bouguereau's most famous paintings. It is incorrectly known as Le Premier Baiser (The First Kiss, 1873).
The painting is an oil on canvas, 60 x 71 cm (20 x 27 7/8 inches), and it is housed in a private collection. The subject of the painting stems from the story of Cupid and Psyche told by Apuleius in The Golden Ass (2nd century ).
One of the first virtual galleries on the Internet was the Web Museum. It placed L'Amour et Psyche, enfants (1890) mistakenly as The First Kiss (1873) and this error has been repeated ever since. If you see the image of the painting lower right you can see the date 1890 near the name of the author.
Bouguereau was inspired by the story of Cupid and Psyche several times:

"First Kiss" is a song by American singer-songwriter Kid Rock from his tenth studio album, First Kiss (2015). Written by Kid Rock and Marlon Young, and produced by Kid Rock and Dann Huff, the song was first released to digital retailers on January 6, 2015 as the lead single from the album of the same name. The song recalls a man's first kiss with his high school sweetheart, who remains by his side to this day. Critics noted the song's inspiration from Bryan Adams' 1985 hit, "Summer of '69".Though both " First Kiss" and " Summer Of 69 " use the same chord structure of .38 Specials "Hold On Loosely ".
The song has achieved moderate commercial success, being Kid Rock's first Billboard Hot 100 hit since "All Summer Long" in 2008 and so far reaching a peak position of 66 on that chart. A crossover success, "First Kiss" has impacted multiple pop and rock charts, and was later sent to country radio in April 2015. Where a country remix was made.
