Hummingbirds are birds that comprise the family Trochilidae. They are among the smallest of birds, most species measuring in the 7.5–13 cm (3–5 in) range. Indeed, the smallest extant bird species is a hummingbird, the 5-cm Bee Hummingbird. They can hover in mid-air by rapidly flapping their wings 12–80 times per second (depending on the species). To conserve energy while they sleep or when food is scarce, they have the ability to go into a hibernation-like state (torpor) where their metabolic rate is slowed to 1/15th of its normal rate. They are also the only group of birds able to fly backwards. Their English name derives from the characteristic rapid wing beats. They can fly at speeds exceeding 15 m/s (54 km/h; 34 mph).
Hummingbirds drink nectar, a sweet liquid inside certain flowers. Like bees, they are able to assess the amount of sugar in the nectar they eat; they reject flower types that produce nectar that is less than 10% sugar and prefer those whose sugar content is stronger. Nectar is a poor source of nutrients, so hummingbirds meet their needs for protein, amino acids, vitamins, minerals, etc. by preying on insects and spiders.
Katheryn Elizabeth Hudson (born October 25, 1984), known by her stage name Katy Perry, is an American singer, songwriter and actress. Perry grew up with gospel music, and during her first year of high school she pursued a music career as Katy Hudson, releasing her first studio album called Katy Hudson which failed to chart. She recorded a solo album later, which was never released. After signing with Capitol Music Group in 2007, her fourth record label in seven years, she adopted the stage name Katy Perry.
She first gained recognition with the release of her first mainstream album, One of the Boys in 2008, which spawned three Billboard Hot 100 top-ten songs—"I Kissed A Girl", "Hot n Cold" and "Waking Up In Vegas". Perry supported the album with her Hello Katy Tour. In 2010, her third studio album, Teenage Dream (2010), which topped the Billboard 200 chart, and spawned five number one singles—"California Gurls", "Teenage Dream", "Firework", "E.T." and "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)"—Teenage Dream was the only album (after Michael Jackson's Bad)—to do so, and the first female in history to achieve this milestone. She embarked on the California Dreams Tour, which grossed nearly $60 million worldwide. Perry re-released the album under the name of Teenage Dream: The Complete Confection on March 26, 2012, and the re-release has already spawned the number-one single "Part of Me".

Kid: I'm a grape.::Jud Parker: I'm happy for you.
Anastacia Macaboy: I had no idea you had to work this hard to get married!
I wish you the best of luck, you've got so much going for you
Yeah, it's true that we've had our ups and downs
But it was nice to leave a happy farewell from both of us
You influenced me in so many ways, some good, some bad
Some things are sad but I suppose this is meant to be
Independently we walk away from each other for the very last time
I hope you don't regret this like I do, hummingbird, hummingbird
No-one can control the uncontrollable hummingbird, hummingbird
I hope he makes you happy, I hope he takes care of you
I hope you hope you have not made a big mistake
'Cause you know that I am one of the biggest mistakes of all, oh god
Time takes it all away
Ticking away all the pain that we made for ourselves in the name of love
And??? costed, we proved that we truly care, yeah
I hope you don't regret this like I do, hummingbird, hummingbird
No-one can control the uncontrollable hummingbird, hummingbird
You were all I wanted but I'm unwanted, hummingbird, hummingbird
I thought that you were all I needed, but doubt succeeded, hummingbird
This is the end of the end, my hummingbird
Got tired of livin' in that one horse town
When to that station flagged that hummingbird down
I didn't even call to say goodbye
I couldn't stand to see that little girl cry
And now I'm off to the city gonna make my name
Those lights were callin' me to fortune and fame
I had to ride that hummingbird
Just let me ride that hummingbird
I'm gonna make it now just any day
I've got my guitar and I came to play
Lyin' here lonely knowin' what I lost
My heart keeps asking was it worth the cost
And now, ain't it funny how that always seems
Once you're standing there, the grass ain't so green
I had to ride that hummingbird
Why did I ride that hummingbird
Oh today she called me on the telephone
She said, "Hey country boy, you been gone too long"
And now I'm standin' at the station looking down the line
Here comes that hummingbird, she's right on time
I'm gonna ride that hummingbird
Just let me ride that hummingbird
Oh Hummingbird, mankind was
waiting for you to come flying along
Heavenly songbird we were so wrong
We've harmed you
Oh hummingbird, lend us your wings
Let us soar in the atmosphere of Abha
Lift us up to the Heaven of Holiness
Oh Source of our being
Oh hummingbird
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
In you I found a fragrance
I'll love you till I die
I just love you, love you, love you
I don't even know the reason why
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
The sweetness of your nectar
Has drawn me like a fly
I just love you, love you, love you
I don't even know the reason why now
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Haven't you noticed the days
somehow keep getting longer?
And the spirit-voices
whisper in us all
Haven't you noticed the rays
the "Spirit Sun" is stronger?
And a "New Day" is dawning
for us all
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Alas here comes the gardener
He's come to till the flowers
The draught of understanding
Wisdom, peace and love is ours
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Hummingbird don't fly away, fly away
Don't fly away
I like you.
Girl you don't got nothin' to prove to me
I know that times have been rough
For the both of us
But I'll pray for a change
You see this world has lots to offer
But in time it will go dark
And if this love is what we say it is
I'm sure we will go far
And with a girl as sweet as you
There's not much else I can do
But fall for you
You know that I'm a wreck
And you know I can't breathe
At the edge of my seat with each word
As the months turn into years
Just know that I will wait here for you
Cause I prayed for a change
You see this world has lots to offer
But in time it will go dark
And if this love is what we say it is
I'm sure we will go far
And with a girl as sweet as you
There's not much else I can do
But fall for you
for you (X3)
This world has lots to offer
But in time it will go dark
And if this love is what we say it is
I'm sure we will go far
And with a girl as sweet as you
There's not much else I can do
I didn't mean to confuse the machine
I just wrote some letters, does that mean anything?
You are an angel, under the overflow
Looking for someone to let you grow
I'll take you on, I'll give you reason
It won't be long 'til you're a hummingbird
Hummingbird
When I said later I think I meant sooner
You never know what I mean anyway
I've been so lazy, always run down
Under the weather and over the joy
You took me on, you give me some reason
How long will it be 'til you're a hummingbird?
Hummingbird
If you can start, then you can stop it
Rip up the tracks and make some new ground
You were an angel, over the understand
Here in the dark, I won't even make a spark
You're the only one who's never seen
The way I can light up in shades of gold and green
I'm just a little firefly, I want to shine for you but I'm too shy
So when you come around I hide my light
But when you go away I shine for you all night
All night, all night, when I shine for you all night
All night, all night, when I shine for you
Out there in the sun, I'd open up for anyone
You're the only one who closes me
Because I want to be the brightest thing you've ever seen
I'm just a little dandelion, I want to blossom but I'm scared of trying
I hide my head when you come into the room
When you go away I come right into bloom
And I can't look down, because I'm way too high
I can't look up, into your eyes
Well I never was afraid to sing out loud
In front of anybody, any crowd
You make me lose my nerve
Feel like something more than I could ever deserve
I'm just a little hummingbird, I want to sing but I can't find the words
So when you come around I just go still
But after you move on, when I know you're gone
I sing for you the way I always will
I will, I will, the way I always will
I will, I will, the way I always will
I will, I will, the way I always will
The way I always will
Why is it so easy for you
To give up whenever you want to
You try so hard to make a difference in your group
Oh your so far out of this loop
Could you come back down to earth
Your a hummingbird who forgot the words to this song
(x2)
When its warm outside you got your sweater on
Your a hummingbird who forgot the words to this song
Gotta give up on fast food cause your in a bad mood
today
And tommorrow never knows what you're gunna say
You change your mind quicker than you can rip off your
clothes
And the color of your hair does show just what you're
going through
Your a hummingbird who forgot the words to this song
(x2)
When its warm outside you got your sweater on
Your a hummingbird who forgot the words
Sometimes when you're lonely
Do you hide and seek from yourself in the dark
You're not too far
From finding out who you are
Maybe somewhere down the line
In retrospect you'll realize
We were looking out for you
Looking out for you
Your a hummingbird who forgot the words to this song
(x2)
When its warm outside you got your sweater on
One, two, three, four
Of the men who were loved by you
Some were lookin' for a woman to play
One who could venture to the empty rooms
And carry their bodies away
Of course there's a ghost
And maybe one was a king
He whispered but never came through
One so alone, sad as a poem
Who hovered by the window then flew
Away from poison rainbows
Away from fallen snow
Away from stumblin' footsteps
Away from so alone
But to lie down beside you
To feel the heart beat in your breath
To carry my song to you
To bury the words inside
Is all I really want
Twisted and simple
You curled into the shoulder
Of a joker that could not surrender
Like some endless river
He broke into the layers
Sunsets darken the waters
Of course there was laughter
In this shelter of strangers
In the rooms of I love you, I love you
One so alone, sad as a poem
Who hovered by the window then flew
Away from poison rainbows
Away from fallen snow
Away from stumblin' footsteps
Away from so alone
But to lie down beside you
To feel the heart beat in your breath
To carry my song to you
To bury the words inside
Im getting dizzy here
running in circles
holding onto your coat tails
cupids been busy
shooting his arrows
while i follow the love trail
they led me straight to you
and all i had to do
was look in my tracks
and double back
i turn around and look what i found
all this time ive been running in circles
you were right behind
i guess i could've met you in the middle
how come it never crossed my mind?
humming birds around my head
humming birds around my head
i ran into your arms
wound up dizzy instead
now i got butterflies, blue jays
pretty things in the air out there
ever since i found this, been
humming birds around my head
hes so tricky yeah
coming full circle
i always knew how to get there
and he was so picky that
he took his eye off the sparrow
flew out after the nightingale
and heaven for a while
he took them fast and lost his style (?)
circled his tracks
double back
turned around and look what you found
all this time ive been running in circles
you've been right behind
i guess i could've met you in the middle
how come it never crossed my mind
humming birds around my head
humming birds around my head
i ran into your arms
wound up dizzy instead
now i got butterflies, blue jays
pretty things in the air out there
ever since i found this, been
humming birds around my head
i got tiny little bee stings on my heart
where the love blooms
honey can i only be with you?
Sitting underneath the shade
tree in the park where i first met you
Funny how the light can change your view
humming birds around my head
humming birds around my head
i ran into your arms
wound up dizzy instead
now i got butterflies, blue jays
pretty things in the air out there
ever since i found this, been
humming birds around my head
humming birds
humming birds
i ran into your arms
so dizzy instead
butterflies, blue jays
oh in the air out there
ever since i felt
there's been
[Written by Leon Russell]
Sometimes I get impatient
But she cools me without words
And she comes so sweet and softly
My hummingbird and have you heard
That I thought my life had ended
But I find that it's just begun
Cause she gets me where I live
I'll give all I have to give
I'm talking about that hummingbird
Oh she's little and she loves me
Too much for words to say
When I see her in the morning sleeping
She's little and she loves me
To my lucky day
Hummingbird don't fly away (woah yeah)
When I'm feeling wild and lonesome
She knows the words to say
And she gives me a little understanding
In her special way
And I have to say
In my life I'll love no other
Because she's more than I deserve
And she gets me where I live
I'll give her everything I have to give
I'm talking about that hummingbird
Oh she's little and she loves me
Too much for words to say
When I see her in the morning sleeping
She's little and she loves me
To my lucky day
Hummingbird don't fly away
Don't fly away
Don't fly away
Don't fly away
When it's cold it's too cold here
When it's hot it's too hot, dear
We were up for a while
Now it's come time to fold
I've been leaning on you
Without reason or truth
Now I'm dreaming of leaving my demons
And the first one I'm leaving is you
Well it's foolish to pretend
I can't do it again
They tell you you live and you learn
Yeah but they never tell you when
I've always been waiting for something
Someone to come pull me through
Now I see that it's all up to me
There ain't nothing no one else can do
We've worn our backsides out
You know what I'm talking about
I wanted so much to please you
But we were living in doubt
Raise a glass for the memories
Some take all they can get
When we met you seemed so easy and free
Feathered, tethered
Feels like all the worlds a cage
Worked up, run down
In this race to earn a wage
Something inside
Tells me I was made to
Split the sky
So tell me why Im
Chorus:
Living like a hummingbird
Getting nowhere fast from all my work
If you've got one eye on the sparrow, Lord
Could you spare one for the hummingbird?
Dead lines, this grind
Got me beating against the wind
Want more from life
Than just spinning around and getting by
Not satisfied just
Living like a hummingbird
(hungry for the blue)
Getting nowhere fast from all my work
(stuck inside this view)
If you've got one eye on the sparrow, Lord
(I'm standing still for you)
Could you spare one for the hummingbird?
Save me from this discontenting
Never ending, spirit bending
Pattern, I go round and round and
Round and round and round again
Yea I'm stuck inside this circle I just
Know theres better out there because
I can feel it in my wings, so I sing
I'm a hummingbird
(hungry for the blue)
Getting nowhere fast from all my work
(stuck inside this view)
If you've got one eye on the sparrow, Lord
(I'm standing still for you)
Could you spare one for the hummingbird?
(hungry for the blue)
Could you spare one for the hummingbird?
(Save the hummingbird)
Save the hummingbird
(Save the hummingbird)
Save the hummingbird
(Save the hummingbird)
His goal in life was to be an echo
Riding alone, town after town, toll after toll
A fixed bayonet through the great southwest to forget
She appears in his dreams
But in his car and in his arms
A dream can mean anything
A cheap sunset on a television set can upset her
But he never could
Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird
His goal in life was to be an echo
The type of sound that floats around and then back down
Like a feather
But in the deep chrome canyons of the loudest
Manhattans
No one could hear him
Or anything
So he slept on a mountain
In a sleeping bag underneath the stars
He would lie awake and count them
And the gray fountain spray of the great Milky Way
Would never let him
Die alone
Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird
Remember to remember me
Standing still in your past
Floating fast like a hummingbird
A hummingbird
Sometimes I get impatient,
but she cools me without words
And she comes so sweet and so plain,
my hummingbird and have you heard,
that I thought my life had ended
But I find that it's just begun,
'cause she gets me where I live
I'll give all I have to give
I'm talking about that hummingbird
Oh she's little and she loves me,

I'm talking about that hummingbird
Oh she's little and she loves me,
too much for words to say
When I see her in the morning sleeping,
she's little and she loves me
To my lucky day,
Hummingbird
You are set free
Flex your wings
And steal me away
He picked her last winter
As one pulls out a splinter
Red-eyed and tender
He needed a mender
She stuck around
Like a weed in the ground
Raising her voice when given a choice
Never once understood
Why he slept in a hood
Did he try to conceal
The love that he'd feel?
When she sang in her sleep
Or brushed past his sweet heels
He never was one for finishing meals
And when he felt he was right at her tether
He carried her down to the river
Told her blue is the colour of calm
And life is better when spent in her arms
So they made shapes with their limbs in the water
Imagined names they'd reserve for their daughter
Kaleidoscope pulse pounding palms on their backs
Darling breathe in
Hold it there, and relax
Much like a squid
As she sank in her dress
Reeds rip the frills
On her sweet Sunday Best
And tie latches onto old Goodness anchor
And he now regrets dressing smart and fancy like a banker
And as shells act as lids on their eyes
Algae like clouds does commence in it's rise
In clear blue spheres he is trying to pray
Hoping the dove, well she will not fly away
Clasp my hand tight
We will survive the night
And if the blue it drowns you
Well i'll be right behind you
Hummingbird
You are set free
Flex your wings
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh...
Waiting for
My words to catch like I'm trying
To strike a match that's soaking wet
See through skull
See through skin
Leave all the lights on
Can't see out
But they see in
Stare down my nose, watching
The color drain from my eyes
Cold cereal and TV
Before I go to sleep
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh...
Breathing out
Hoping to breathe in
I know nothing's wrong but I'm not convinced
No, I know, I know how far it's gone myself
Maybe I'll believe it from somebody else
No, I know, I know how far it's gone myself
Maybe I'll believe it from somebody else
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh...
Breathing out
Hoping to breathe in
I know nothing's wrong, but I'm not convinced
I can let it happen, just let it happen
Just don't think so much, don't think so much
Ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh, ooh...

We're gonna ride
Such a tiny spark,
Little tiny spark,
But a spark it could catch and could grow and could burn this whole place, To the ground.
Such a little voice,
Little tiny voice,
Still its easy to hear how it someday could fill a whole world, with sound.
But you hardly breath, cause you move so fast,
Never looking back,
Never looking back.
Oh do you know where your going,
Do you know where your head is?
Where your sweet crooked smile is taking you,
Hummingbird.
Oh she won't be denied,
She wont be denied.
Oh she won't be denied,
She wont be denied.
Theres a world out there,
And its unaware,
Of the world that is coming,
But soon you will have this whole place,
In a spin.
See its in her eyes, in those worldly eyes,
Shes a wonder of nature, a wonderful creature,
So sly tonight is she.
Oooh do you know where your going,
On this journey your making,
Watch your too tiny face are fighting for.
Like a little hummingbird,
Hovering innocently,
Flying in though my window,
Taking over.
(Taking over)
Ah she won't be denied,
She won't be denied,
Ah She won't be denied,
She will not be denied.
Always been like a hummingbird
And I can't keep still
Listen up, lover listen up, I never will
Wings move faster than the human eye
And if you could see my heart
Well, if you could see my heart,
Kept from flying outwards
Somehow I don't know
Wonder I don't come apart
Wonder I don't come apart
Hold out your hand
Yours is the only one that I dare land upon
Stole a ruby necklace
From the chamber of a queen
Distraction for my heart
Distraction for my heart
Thrumming like a diver's every time you're near
The only sound I hear, it's the only sound I hear
Sweetness captures honeybees in time
Amber like your eyes, amber like your eyes
Maybe there's a season when I'll taste that wine
Hummingbird is singing
I can hear her through the trees
Singing of her days gone by
In perfect melody
Do I take the task
Of telling her the truth
Or do I let the world around her
Be the window she sees through
Tell me that you'll break away
Say that it's all gone
Go ahead and count the days
Come on, come on, come on
Pure white lace and silk is
Brushed up against your skin
Reminds me of your childhood
You can't lose but you'll never win
Do I take the task of telling you the truth
Or do I let the world around you
Be the window you see through
Tell me that you'll break away
Say that it's all gone
Go ahead and count the days
Come on, come on, come on
Sent a message out to you
When will you respond
Follow me, I swear it's true
Come on, come on, come on
Some might take a holiday to escape from what they see
Why don't waste away, waste away, waste away with me
Tell me that you'll break away
Say that it's all gone
Go ahead and count the days
Come on, come on, come on
Sent a message out to you
When will you respond
Follow me, I swear it's true
Come on, come on, come on

don't fly away
Don't fly away
There is a long
long road to reach your house.
and I arrived just before,
just before the sunset.
and you said,
and you said welcome with your eyes.
and we said,
and we said nothing at all.
Oh we have been to many churches but we never believed.
we have been to many churches but we never believed.
If you go too far,
there is a song you'll hear.
If we get too close,
whisper in my ears.
speak the word, say it.
Bewilder, say it.
Humming bird, say it.
Be my dad...
Oh we have been to many churches but we never believed.
we have been to many churches but we never believed.
we have been to many churches but we never believed.

An' there's a hummingbird, a hummingbird
A hummingbird, a hummingbird
Oh, there's a hummingbird singing
There is the hat you made, the clothes you wore
Lying down on the cold, dirty floor
The colors are fading, they'll never shine again
An' there's a hummingbird, a hummingbird
A hummingbird, a hummingbird
Ah, there's a hummingbird singing
Now the road, it's turnin' gray
There's a shadow where you once lay
They'll find it tomorrow, and think you went alone
But there's a hummingbird, a hummingbird
A hummingbird, a hummingbird
