The, 6880 Betton Grange Society, return to, Llangollen Railway, after almost three years, as they hold their mammoth, Steel, Steam & Stars Steam Gala, which is held over two, weekends, starting on, Friday 6th March and finishing on Sunday 15th March. The event has become a fixture in the diary for so many enthusiasts around the country. This year would see a raft of visiting locomotives and with it's extensive timetable of passenger trains, freight workings & double headers. While, not forgetting, that the gala is the first major event which, would see trains running to, Corwen, along the new section of line from, Carrog. The, Llangollen Railway is now able to connect two towns, via rail. Which is now a major boost for the town of, Corwen. As I stated above, the event is held over two weeks, but I decided to attend the first week. The video features action from the, Friday & Saturday. The forecast was promising, and the weather certainly played ball, on the first couple of days, as we was treated to some lovely afternoon weather on both days, though a strong North Westerly wind was never too far away. Another great couple of day's in the Welsh Highlands, and look forward to returning again, as the, Llangollen Railway, proves why it's probably the most scenic, standard gauge heritage railway, in operation.
