De Blasio Administration Announces a Record-Breaking 20,325 Affordable Apartments and Homes Finances in Last Fiscal Year, Enough for 50,000 New Yorkers More new affordable apartments underway than at any time since City’s housing department was created in 1978 New programs for seniors, extremely low income New Yorkers and homeless families drive the creation of thousands of new apartments Major progress towards City’s goal of 200,000 affordable apartments in 10 years Mayor Bill de Blasio today announced that the City financed the creation and preservation of 20,325 affordable apartments and homes during fiscal year 2015, enough housing for more than 50,000 New Yorkers and the most in 25 years. The City broke an all-time record for the most new affordable apartments underway – nearly 8,500 – the highest figure since the City’s Department of Housing Preservation and Development was established in 1978. This affordable housing represents a direct investment of $618 million by the City of New York, thanks to significant increases in affordable housing by the de Blasio administration. This development and preservation represents tangible progress during the first full fiscal year of Mayor de Blasio’s Housing New York plan for 200,000 affordable apartments in 10 years. Roughly 85 percent of the homes financed in the last year were for extremely low, very low, and low income families. The developments financed reflect the plan’s vision of expanding the range of New Yorkers reached, from extremely low income families to middle class wage earners who increasingly are struggling to make ends meet. This year’s progress was driven by new programs launched under Housing New York, including: • 1,247 new apartments for the formerly homeless: To help stem the homelessness crisis and return families to stable housing, the Department of Housing Preservation and Development, the Housing Development Corporation and the Department of Homeless Services launched the “HomeStretch” program that incorporates both shelter units and permanently affordable housing in the same development, making better use of the social services available and using shelter financing as leverage for the financing of the permanent homes. • 1,544 apartments for seniors: HPD and HDC made changes to their supportive housing and preservation programs to realize the start of over 1,500 affordable senior units. They introduced the Senior Affordable Rental Apartments program to provide financing for the construction and renovation of affordable housing for very low income senior citizens. • 1,164 new apartments for the lowest income families: HPD’s new Extremely Low and Low Income Affordability (ELLA) program was launched last fall, helping boost housing opportunities for families with the lowest incomes – those making less than $23,350 for a family of three. The City tripled the number of these affordable units compared to the previous fiscal year. • 3,205 new apartments through “Inclusionary Housing”: HPD overhauled its Inclusionary Housing program to eliminate duplicative requirements and red tape, accelerating affordable housing delivered in market rate developments and doubling the number of any prior year. To meet the goals of Housing New York, the Mayor doubled the capital funding for HPD, and, most recently, in the ten-year capital plan included nearly $7.5 billion for affordable housing, and more than $1 billion in funding for the parks, libraries, road construction and other infrastructure necessary to support neighborhood growth and new housing opportunities. 950 Summit Avenue Bronx, NY 10452 July 13, 2015

Finance Minister Ishaq Dar while presenting the budget for fiscal year 2015-16 on the floor of the National Assembly said a growth rate target of 5.5pc had been set for the upcoming year, which he said is budgeted to reach 7pc by the end of PML-N government's tenure in 2017-18 Before announcing the budget, the minister briefed the cabinet about the salient features of the budget and said measures have been proposed which may enhance exports, industrial growth, and employment. Meanwhile opposition in the National Assembly decided not to create any uproar during the budget speech. "We will listen to the budget speech and will not create any problem," Khursheed Shah told reporters in Parliament.

Georgetown Club of Northern California Board Members: Matt Kamenski, President (C’07); Keavney Klein, Vice President (N’02, L’08); Chris Johanson, Treasurer (B’00); Stephanie Grice, Secretary (N’12); Earl Dos Santos, Events Chair (B’04); Melissa Conrad, Community Service Chair (C’02); Laughlin Cutler, Communications Chair (B’06) The Georgetown Club of Northern California, known locally as the “NorCal Hoyas,” had a remarkable 2014. Under the leadership of President Matt Kamenski (C’07) and a dedicated group of board members, the Club’s official membership grew more than 60 percent, participation in the Club’s major annual events—including the Hoya New Year Extravaganza and Welcome to the Neighborhood—grew dramatically and the Club made great strides in expanding and diversifying its programming. A sampling of these events included a build day with San Francisco Habitat for Humanity, an outing to the Warriors vs. Pistons game (to cheer on Greg Monroe), a joint Georgetown-Harvard alumni happy hour and a group outing to see Mike Birbiglia’s (C’00) comedy show in San Francisco. Of course, the Club’s mainstay, men’s basketball game watches, continued, but with additional programming for several of the big games including a brunch game watch with a free wine tasting from Hoya-owned Hoopes Vineyard. The Club also partnered with a number of other Hoya-owned businesses and collaborated to promote and host events with other university-affiliated groups, including the Georgetown Technology Alliance. In all, the Club had a tremendous year, laying a strong foundation for further growth and success in the coming years.

Named for James Patrick Reed (C’53), who served the Georgetown University Alumni Association for 32 years, the Reed Alumni Award recognizes outstanding service by one member of the Georgetown University Board of Governors (including senators) during the most recently completed fiscal year. Nominations are accepted from current faculty, staff, governors or senators, who must provide a summary of the nominee’s accomplishments on behalf of the Board of Governors and the Georgetown University Alumni Association during the fiscal year. Reed Alumni Award Recipient: Curtis James Romig (C’94) Curtis J. Romig is a partner with Bryan Cave LLP, an international law firm with over 30 offices worldwide. He has practiced law with Bryan Cave LLP, and its Atlanta predecessor, Powell Goldstein LLP, since 1999, following a one-year clerkship for the Honorable Henry Coke Morgan, Jr., United States District Judge in the eastern district of Virginia, Norfolk Division. He has assisted construction, financial, energy, retail, manufacturing and transportation companies in resolving commercial disputes through negotiation, mediation, arbitration and state and federal litigation. He helped one of his manufacturing clients secure the largest verdict in the history of Brooks County, Georgia in a design and construction defect case involving a biofuel energy system. Romig’s real estate litigation experience includes resolving all manner of property related disputes for lenders, real estate developers, investors, contractors, property owners and tenants. He has extensive dispute resolution experience representing utilities and other clients involved in energy marketing and co-generation. These representations have involved almost every aspect of power generation, supply, demand and transmission. Romig currently serves as the parliamentarian for the Georgetown University Alumni Association’s Board of Governors, after serving as a governor from 2009 to 2012. He is also on the Executive, Career Services, Alumni Club and Nominations Committees. Romig has been an AAP interviewer since 2010, and served on the Class Committee for his 15th and 20th Reunions, chairing the Events Committee for his 20th. Romig has been on the Board of the Georgetown Club of Georgia since 2005, serving as president from 2006 to 2010, and secretary from 2005 to 2006. During his time with the Georgetown Club of Georgia, the Club has won GUAA Club of the Year twice (2005-2006 and 2010-2011), and win several other awards, including Educational Program of the Year (2009-2010) and Community Service Program of the Year (2011-2012). He also serves as a class representative for his high school, The Norfolk Academy, and as a class manager for his law school, the University of Virginia. Romig volunteers on the Annual Fund Committee for Pace Academy in Atlanta, where his two oldest children attend school. He graduated from the College of Arts and Sciences at Georgetown University in 1994, and then from the University of Virginia School of Law in 1998. On July 8, 2015, the Hope Center Emergency Shelter for Women opened to the public during a ribbon cutting ceremony. The Shelter is located at 913 Person St. and helps address one of the City Council’s top strategic priorities for fiscal year 2015-2016. The Hope Center is a City-owned facility dedicated to housing homeless individuals. The City is partnering with True Vine Ministries by making the facility available to them to provide a very much needed service. Community Development Block Grant funds will also be made available to assist with some of the operational costs. True Vine was instrumental in helping the homeless recently when the ministry provided an emergency shelter and transportation to its church facility during White Flag nights (when temperatures drop below 32 degrees). The Hope Center will provide meals and shelter, as well as a computer lab and referral service to assist women in regaining permanent housing. PepsiCo Set to Report Q2 Earnings and Share Projections For the Fiscal Year

PepsiCo (PSP), the company that operates food and beverage brands such as Pepsi, Lays, Tropicana, Quaker Oats, and Gatorade is set to report earnings for the second quarter of 2015 on July 9th before the opening bell. According to Bloomberg, analysts are expecting earnings of $1.24 per share on earnings just shy of $16 billion, which, if accurate, would show a 6% drop in growth compared to last year's second quarter earnings. While this may be a $0.06 drop from the same quarter last year, PepsiCo has beat earnings expectations for the past four quarters in a row. Last quarter, PepsiCo said that they were on track to deliver approximately $1 billion in productivity savings for the year and will continue on course for delivering a $9 billion cash return to shareholders. Currently trading around $94, the median price target from analysts surveyed by Reuters is at $108. PepsiCo is trading roughly on par with where it was at the beginning of the year. WD 40 Company (WDFC), maker of multi propose lubricants and heavy duty cleaners, is set to report earnings for the company's third quarter after the market close on Wednesday, July 8th. According to information from Bloomberg, analysts are expecting earnings of $0.76, which, if accurate, would show an 11% increase over the same quarter last year. In the previous quarter, WD-40 announced that earnings had grown 7% but had been strongly impacted by the foreign currency exchange rates. In the last earnings release, the San Diego-based company projected net sales growth for the year to be within 1% and 4% and be between $387 and $400 million compared to the $383 million earned in 2014.
