Jeff Fager (born December 10, 1954) is the former Chairman of CBS News and the current Executive Producer of 60 Minutes, the hour-long CBS news magazine created in 1968.
Fager graduated from Colgate University in 1977. As a teen, he spent some of his years in the Town of Wellesley and graduated from Wellesley High School in the class of 1973. He began his career in broadcast news in Boston and joined CBS News in 1982 from San Francisco, California station, KPIX-TV, where he was a broadcast producer.
Fager then became an Executive Producer of The CBS Evening News and held senior and field producer positions for that broadcast and other CBS News entities, including 60 Minutes; he soon became an Executive Producer of 60 Minutes II. In June 2004, he assumed the position of Executive Producer of 60 Minutes.
In February 2011, it was announced that Jeff Fager would lead the news division of CBS as Chairman of CBS News, a newly created position. In tandem with the newly appointed president David Rhodes, Fager would head CBS News while continuing to executive produce 60 Minutes.
60 Minutes is an American newsmagazine television program broadcast on the CBS television network. Debuting in 1968, the program was created by Don Hewitt, who chose to set it apart from other news programs by using a unique style of reporter-centered investigation. In 2002, 60 Minutes was ranked #6 on TV Guide's 50 Greatest TV Shows of All Time and in 2013, it was ranked #24 on TV Guide's 60 Best Series of All Time. The New York Times has called it "one of the most esteemed news magazines on American television".
The program employed a magazine format, similar to that of the Canadian program W5, which premiered two years earlier. It pioneered many of the most important investigative journalism procedures and techniques, including re-editing interviews, hidden cameras, and "gotcha journalism" visits to the home or office of an investigative subject. Similar programs sprang up in Australia and Canada during the 1970s, as well as on local television news.
An executive producer (EP) enables the making of a commercial entertainment product. The EP may be concerned with management accounting and/or with associated legal issues (like copyrights or royalties). An EP generally contributes to the film's budget and may or may not work on set.
In motion pictures, an executive producer oversees the filmmaking with regard to film finance. Executive producers liaise with the line producer and report to production companies and distributors.
In television, an executive producer often supervises the creative content as well as the financial aspects of a production. Some writers (for example Stephen J. Cannell and Tina Fey) have been the creator and also the producer of the same TV show. Other dual roles may include the executive director(s) starring in the show they produce, such as Full Throttle Saloon reality TV star, Jesse James Dupree. Still other shows may have more than one executive producer working on a TV show where there can be one among them who outranks the others. This position is known as the "showrunner," or operational executive producer.
Minutes, also known as protocols or, informally, notes, are the instant written record of a meeting or hearing. They typically describe the events of the meeting and may include a list of attendees, a statement of the issues considered by the participants, and related responses or decisions for the issues.
Minutes may be created during the meeting by a typist or court reporter, who may use shorthand notation and then prepare the minutes and issue them to the participants afterwards. Alternatively, the meeting can be audio recorded, video recorded, or a group's appointed or informally assigned secretary may take notes, with minutes prepared later. Many government agencies use minutes recording software to record and prepare all minutes in real-time.
Minutes are the official written record of the meetings of an organization or group. They are not transcripts of those proceedings. Using Robert's Rules of Order Newly Revised (RONR), the minutes should contain mainly a record of what was done at the meeting, not what was said by the members. The organization may have its own rules regarding the content of the minutes.
Jeff is a short form of the English given name Jeffrey, which derives from a medieval variant of Geoffrey. Jeff is especially used in the US and Canada.

FOR BACKGROUND, CLICK HERE: http://www.camera.org/60minutes/ Jeff Fager, chairman of CBS News and executive producer of 60 Minutes, says all the right things about journalistic ethics. But when 60 Minutes correspondent Bob Simon broadcast a clear cut falsehood, Fager disregarded the central journalistic guideline requiring errors be forthrightly corrected. 60 Minutes claimed, wrongly, that Bethlehem is "completely surrounded" by a "wall." When presented with clear evidence that this is false, Fager stonewalled. See details at www.camera.org/60minutes

The goal of this bounty is to establish that the White House and other Executive Branch Departments coordinated efforts with CBS News to discredit and humiliate Lara Logan for honest reporting that the Obama Administration wanted to be obfuscated and covered up. If the government of the United States is partnering with venerable institutions to mislead the American People and propagate lies to maintain power, then t...
