Houston (/ˈhjuːstən/) (Alibamu: Yosti ) is the largest city in the state of Texas, and the fourth-largest city in the United States. According to the 2010 U.S. Census, the city had a population of 2.1 million people within an area of 656.3 square miles (1,700 km2). Houston is the seat of Harris County and the economic center of Houston–Sugar Land–Baytown, which is the fifth-largest metropolitan area in the United States, with 6.08 million people as of July 1st, 2011.
Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou. It was incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837, and named after then-President of the Republic of Texas—former General Sam Houston—who had commanded at the Battle of San Jacinto, which took place 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.
During the Spanish colonial rule, the area was officially known as the Nuevo Reino de Filipinas: La Provincia de Texas. Antonio Margil de Jesús was known to be the first person to use the name in a letter to the Viceroy of Mexico in July 20, 1716. The name was not popularly used in daily speech but often appeared in legal documents until the end of the 1800s.

Welcome to San Antonio, one of America’s top travel destinations.
Start your San Antonio sightseeing with a tour of 18th century Spanish missions and several iconic attractions by the Paseo del Rio, also known as the River Walk. The River Walk is accessible by vintage trolleys or even river taxis that will offer you a unique view of this thriving downtown.
Indulge in TexMex and European food from the restaurants strewn across the city. When you’re ready to continue your San Antonio tour, you can spend hours wandering the San Antonio Museum of Art, which is housed in an old brewery. Ready for some sunshine? Head to Market Square to enjoy live performances, merchant stalls full of goods to purchase, and a perfect opportunity for people-watching.
If you’ve brought the kids (or even if you’re on your own), you can head to the San Antonio Zoo and mingle with zebras and hundreds of other animals. Cap off your trip with a visit to the top of the Tower of the Americas, where you can see the entire city lit up beneath you.

Welcome to Houston, Texas, one of the largest cities in the United States.
Once an outpost in the Old West, Houston is now a down-to-earth metropolis, boasting a tremendous shipping and energy industry, as well as plenty of culture.
Kick off your Houston tour at Discovery Green, a 12-acre park tucked beneath the city’s skyscrapers. You’ll find public art and plenty of space to picnic or go for walks. Houstoners take pride in their various parks, museums, and open spaces, like the Houston Arboretum, where you can go birdwatching, learn about green living, and hike the trails to explore local wildlife.
Speaking of exploring, your Houston sightseeing should include a trip to the USS Texas., This battleship served in two World Wars and now stands guard as a museum on the Buffalo Bayou. Head over to the Gulf for a walk on the beach while you watch the sunset, then get ready to gear up for the evening with some delicious TexMex shared with the locals. After you lose yourself in a few rounds of line dancing to burn off all those fajitas, you’ll be wondering why you didn’t come to Houston earlier.

Houston (/ˈhjuːstən/ hyoo-stən) is the most populous city in Texas, the largest city in the Southern United States and the fourth most populous city in the United States. According to the 2012 U.S. Census estimates, the city had a population of 2.16 million people within a land area of 599.6 square miles (1,553 km2).[5][6] Houston is the seat of Harris County, and its metropolitan area is the fifth-most populated in the U.S., with over 6 million people.[7]
Houston was founded in 1836 on land near the banks of Buffalo Bayou (now known as Allen's Landing)[8][9] and incorporated as a city on June 5, 1837. The city was named after former General Sam Houston, who was president of the Republic of Texas and had commanded and won at the Battle of San Jacinto 25 miles (40 km) east of where the city was established. The burgeoning port and railroad industry, combined with oil discovery in 1901, has induced continual surges in the city's population. In the mid-twentieth century, Houston became the home of the Texas Medical Center—the world's largest concentration of healthcare and research institutions—and NASA's Johnson Space Center, where the Mission Control Center is located.[10]
Houston's economy has a broad industrial base in energy, manufacturing, aeronautics, and transportation. It is also leading in health care sectors and building oilfield equipment; only New York City is home to more Fortune 500 headquarters.[11][12] The Port of Houston ranks first in the United States in international waterborne tonnage handled and second in total cargo tonnage handled.[13] The city has a population from various ethnic and religious backgrounds and a large and growing international community. It is home to many cultural institutions and exhibits, which attract more than 7 million visitors a year to the Museum District. Houston has an active visual and performing arts scene in the Theater District and offers year-round resident companies in all major performing arts.

Learn about the top seven museums to visit on a trip to Houston, Texas in this Howcast travel video.
Houston is a center of culture and education, and it has the museums to prove it.
The Menil Collection is one of the best private museums in the country. The collection includes art and antiquities from across the world, but the modern art is the best known. You can see work by artists like Warhol, Matisse, Pollock, Picasso, and many more.
Another great museum is the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston. It’s Texas’ oldest art museum and it’s one of the biggest in the country. The extensive collection of art covers different styles and time periods from around the world.
The Museum of Fine Arts is also notable for the Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens. This is a 1920s mansion with beautiful gardens and an excellent collection of American antiques.
If art and antiques aren’t your thing, head to the Houston Museum of Natural Science. Visit the Butterfly Center and be surrounded by hundreds of live butterflies and tropical plants.
Houston’s museums are also great if you’re travelling with children. There’s the Children’s Museum of Houston, which features a variety of fun exhibits to engage kids and the Health Museum which is also very kid-friendly. Interactive exhibitions teach visitors about health and the human body.
Since Houston has such a broad variety of museums, there should be at least one that’s worth a visit for everyone.

Holy Grail can be seen in one of the cathedral's chapels), Bioparc (it is not another zoo! Make sure you have enough free space on your flash-card), Museum of Science (if you short in time or if you visited something similar in Germany or France you might skip this option, but if you have 1 day, you can buy a combined ticket to visit this museum too), Oceanografic (worth visiting, the best part is dolphin show. Normally overcrowded, so reserving tickets online might be a good idea), Central market and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Valencia travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. You can do this for free on a site that searches through hundreds of other travel websites in real time for the best travel deals available.

Ecco la storia di come Ilaria si sia trasferita negli Stati Uniti per amore.
Ilaria Paoni-Nibblins vive a Houston, Texas, Stati Uniti.
Geograficamente è piatta con i grattacieli downtown e poi i sobborghi all’infinito.

Gibraltar is a British Overseas Territory located on the southern end of the Iberian Peninsula at the entrance of the Mediterranean.
The most important places to visit in Gibraltar are: The Rock (the Rock of Gibraltar marks a gateway between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean and between Europe and Africa), Barbary Apes (despite their mislabeling as apes, these tail-less monkeys have made a name for themselves on Gibraltar), St. Michael's Cave (the geological formations continue into the Earth, as this cave goes deep into the Rock of Gibraltar itself), Great Siege Tunnels (also in the Rock itself are tunnels used by the British in their defense against assailing Spaniards who sought to reclaim Gibraltar in the 18th century), Cable Car Ride (for under 10 Euros, tourists can ride a cable car to the top of the Rock where the Apes reside and other attractions await) and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Gibraltar travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight. Valencia is the third largest city in Spain after Madrid and Barcelona. Valencia is situated on the banks of the Turia river, on the eastern coast of the Iberian peninsula and the western part of the Mediterranean Sea, fronting the Gulf of Valencia.
The most important places to visit in Valencia are: Cathedral of Valencia (if seen from the top the Latin cross shape of cathedral can be seen.
Hawaii's Big Island, also called the Island of Hawaii, the Big Island or Hawaii Island, which comprises Hawaii County and the Hilo, HI Micropolitan Statistical Area, is an island, county, and Micropolitan Statistical Area located in the U.S. state of Hawaii in the Hawaiian Islands. It is the largest and the southeastern-most of the Hawaiian islands, a chain of volcanic islands in the North Pacific Ocean. With an area of 4,028 square miles (10,430 km2), it is larger than all of the other islands in the archipelago combined and is the largest island in the United States. The island is often referred to as the "Big Island" to reduce confusion between the island and the state.
The most important places to visit in Hawaii's Big Island are: Akaka Falls State Park, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park, Pu'uhonua o Honaunau National Historical Park , Waipio Valley, Kaunaoa Beach, Hilo Farmers Market, Hapuna Beach State Park, Papakolea Beach and many more.

Brussels is the capital of Belgium and the de facto capital of the European Union (EU). It is also the largest urban area in Belgium, comprising 19 municipalities, including the municipality of the City of Brussels, which is the de jure capital of Belgium, in addition to the seat of the French Community of Belgium and of the Flemish Community.
The most important places to visit in Brussels: The Atomium (amongst the world's most fascinating buildings, represents a cell of iron crystal magnified 165 billion times. You can even take a walk inside), Manneken Pis (simply put, a statue of a boy urinating. No one expected a famous Brussels landmark. Often it's adorned with costumes), Royal greenhouses (built all the way back in 1873, it's a massive complex of greenhouse domes and galleries that showcase many rare plants and flowers), Royal Palace (currently the offices of Belgian monarchy, this present structure was constructed in the 19th century), Grand Palace (spend an evening in Europe's most beautiful square. Few other places in the world can match its architectural splendor) and many more.
This video offers a lot of tips to help you plan the perfect vacation. If you want to save time and money, the most important Brussels travel tip is to compare prices before booking a hotel room or a flight.
