The AFL community is still in shock over the death of Adelaide Crows coach, Phil Walsh. Walsh was stabbed multiple times in the early hours of yesterday morning and his son has been charged with murder. Photos are emerging today of a small pipe - the kind commonly used to smoke crystal methamphetamine - being taken from the crime scene in an evidence bag, but police say detectives have found nothing to suggest ice was a factor in the case. An industrial dispute is unfolding at a Tasmanian shipping port, with the crew of an Caltex tanker refusing to set sail after they were told their jobs would be gone after the next run. The Maritime Union of Australia says the shipping company is moving to replace Australian workers with foreign seafarers, who they say are sometimes paid as little as $2 an hour.

In Greece, those advocating a 'No' vote in Sunday's referendum have urged voters to reject the 'blackmail' deal. In a TV address, the Greek Prime Minister insisted the country's EU membership was not at stake and that a vote against the bailout package was the only way Greeks could continue to live with dignity in Europe.

The Prime Minister will release the Government’s long awaited blueprint for Australia's agricultural revival this morning at a dairy farm in Warrnambool, western Victoria. Australia's farm production is worth about $50 billion a year and agriculture accounts for more than 10 per cent of exported goods and services, but productivity growth in the sector has halved over the past decade. The Federal Government is treading carefully ahead of Monday's summit on the referendum to recognise Indigenous Australians in the Constitution. The meeting is unprecedented: Prime Minister Tony Abbott and Opposition Leader Bill Shorten will jointly host the Sydney talks with about 40 Indigenous leaders. Last week a parliamentary committee recommended pushing forward to hold the referendum. More

The world record for solo flight has been shattered overnight by a Swiss pilot who spent five days and five nights soaring above the Pacific in a solar plane. Andre Borschberg sure if he'd survive the flight but touching down in Hawaii, he said he could have gone even further. More
