An activist has also taken up the matter with the National Commission for Minorities seeking a probe into the builder's "discriminatory policy." 25-year-old Misbah Quadri, who works with a Public Relations agency, had been living in an apartment at Kandivali in the western suburbs of Mumbai since she came to the city from Gujarat a year ago. Recently, she planned to move to a flat in Wadala area but met with a shocking response from the builder of the apartments. Quadri claimed that when she approached the builder's representative, she was bluntly told that it was a policy of theirs not to give homes on rent to Muslims. And, in a case of alleged religious discrimination, a young MBA graduate was declined employment in a diamond export company for being a Muslim, prompting the National Commission for Minorities to seek an explanation from the business house. The alleged incident also drew criticism from the Centre's BJP-led government, which said religious discrimination cannot be allowed. Management graduate Zeshan Ali Khan had applied for an opening in the company on May 19 and, according to him, he received a response within 15 minutes which said they hired only non-Muslim candidates.

Haramnya Darah Seorang Muslim Dalam beragama, kita wajib mempelajari dan memahami agama Islam ini dengan benar. Jangan sampai kita menjadi muslim yang bodoh tentang agama Islam yang akhirnya malah memusuhi atau membenci orang-orang yang menjalankan sunnah-sunnah Nabi shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam dan ajaran Islam dengan benar. Jangan pula kita menjadi orang-orang yang ghuluw dalam beragama sehingga membuat kerusakan dimana-mana dengan mengatasnamakan Islam. Dalam beragama kita harus wasath (pertengahan), tidak boleh ifrad/ghuluw (berlebih-lebihan) atau tafrith (menyia-nyiakan). Orang-orang yang tidak paham tentang agama ini biasanya akan melakukan ifrad/ghuluw atau tafrith. Sedangkan orang yang berilmu akan senantiasa berbuat wasath (pertengahan). Dari sini bisa diketahui pentingnya belajar dan memahami Islam dengan benar. Salah satu hal yang wajib kita ketahui di dalam agama Islam adalah masalah penjagaan Islam terhadap darah. Hal itu karena masalah antara manusia dengan manusia yang pertama kali akan diadili oleh Allah Ta’ala kelak di hari kiamat adalah masalah darah. Rasulullah shallallahu ‘alaihi wa sallam bersabda: “Yang pertama akan diputuskan antara manusia dengan manusia adalah masalah darah.” (HR Al-Bukhari dan Muslim) Dari hadits tersebut kita mengetahui bahwa darah merupakan masalah besar yang sangat dijaga dalam Islam. Bahkan darah seorang muslim lebih mulia di sisi Allah dari pada Kabah yang mulia. Dan orang yang menumpahkan darah seorang muslim maka dia telah melakukan perbuatan kufur karena menumpahkan darah seorang muslim adalah dosa besar.
