Vera may refer to:
Véra Nabokov (January 5, 1902 – April 7, 1991) was the wife, muse, editor, and translator of Vladimir Nabokov.
Born Vera Evseevna Slonim in St. Petersburg into a Jewish family, she was the second of three sisters. Her father, who had studied law, was successful in the tile and timber businesses, among others. With the turmoil of the Russian Revolution, the family moved to Moscow, and after fleeing through Kiev, Odessa, Istanbul, and Sofia, arrived in Berlin, where they joined the large Russian émigré population.
In Berlin her father co-founded a publishing firm, Orbis, and Vera worked in the office. There when Vladimir Nabokov was considering a project to translate Dostoyevskey in English, he met Véra's father, and he started playing chess with him. Véra admired Vladimir's poetry, which was well-known through émigré publications, and went to his readings. The details of the first meeting between Véra and Vladimir are uncertain; he maintained it was at a charity ball on May 8 (or 9), 1923, but she denied this story. Sometime after that date, the two had a long conversation overlooking a canal, at which Véra wore a mask and recited Vladimir's poetry. They were married on April 15, 1925. She ended her own budding career as a writer to support her husband as critic, reader, and typist, and sustained the family through her work as secretary and translator. Their son, Dmitri, was born on May 10, 1934.

Massimo Mazzucco (born 20 July 1954 in Turin) is an Italian filmmaker who is known for producing documentary films such as The New American Century and Cancer -The Forbidden Cures. Mazzucco is also the editor of luogocomune.net, an Italian news site known especially for discussing conspiracy theories regarding the September 11 WTC attacks.[citation needed]
Some criticism was directed to Mazzucco after his decision, starting September 2008, to publicize an alternative cancer therapy based on Sodium bicarbonate and proposed by Italian ex-doctor Tullio Simoncini. Said therapy is currently unproven, and Simoncini was expelled from the Italian Medical Association after he was tried and found guilty of fraud and manslaughter, since a patient died, allegedly as result of Simoncini’s treatment. In the meantime, however, recent studies seem to confirm the validity of sodium bicarbonate against cancer.
Brandon Michael Vera (born October 10, 1977) is an American mixed martial artist. He competes as a light heavyweight in the Ultimate Fighting Championship. He is the winner of the WEC 13 Heavyweight Tournament and currently resides in San Diego, California.
Vera is the son of a Filipino father, Ernesto, and an Italian-American mother, Amelia. He grew up in a family with seven boys and three girls. He was born and raised in Norfolk, Virginia, and attended Lake Taylor High School where he excelled in wrestling and earned a four-year athletic scholarship to Old Dominion University. However, he dropped out of Old Dominion after a year and a half when he felt college was not for him, and enlisted himself in the United States Air Force.
In the Air Force, Vera joined the force's wrestling team and trained at the US Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado. His military wrestling career was cut short in 1999 when he tore ligaments in his right elbow. Arthroscopic surgery repaired the ligaments, but he had nerve damage from the experience, causing him to be unable to use his right arm. He was released from the Air Force on a medical discharge.
The circus is coming... Hide.
We will fight for our survival. We always have. We always will.
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you
Does anybody else in here
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said
That we would meet again
Some sunny day
Vera
Vera
What has become of you?
I won't buy you cigarettes
I got not money, Vera
Du sagst
Dort bei dir zu Hause
Kriegst du keine Luft mehr
Du hältst das nicht aus
Deine Freunde und auch deine Freiheit
Warten auf der Straße unten vor dem Haus.
Du willst raus.
Vera
Geh nicht einfach
Vera
Geh nicht auf die Straße
Lauf nicht einfach fort
No no
Vera
Glaub nicht alles
Vera
Was sie dir erzählen
Keiner hält sein Wort
Vera
Es gibt viele falsche Freunde
Und manchmal enden Träume
Schon in der ersten Nacht.
Du sagst
In dir brennt ein Feuer
Du willst Abenteuer
Deshalb hältst du aus.
Tu's nicht Vera
Du bist doch erst siebzehn
Deine Eltern geben dir doch ein Zuhaus'
Laß dir Zeit.
Vera
Geh nicht einfach
Vera
Geh nicht auf die Straße
Lauf nicht einfach fort
No no
Vera
Glaub nicht alles
Vera
Was sie dir erzählen
Keiner hält sein Wort
Vera
Es gibt viele falsche Freunde
Und manchmal enden Träume
Schon in der ersten Nacht.
Vera
La.....
Vera
Glaub nicht alles
Vera
Was sie dir erzählen
Keiner hält sein Wort
Vera
Es gibt viele falsche Freunde
Und manchmal enden Träume
Schon in der ersten Nacht.
Manchmal enden Träume
Schon in der ersten Nacht.
Vera
Na.....no
Vera
Geh nicht einfach
Vera
Geh nicht auf die Straße
Lauf nicht einfach fort
No no
Vera
Glaub nicht alles
Vera
Was sie dir erzählen
Keiner hält sein Wort
Does anybody here remember Vera Lynn?
Remember how she said that
We would meet again
Some sunny day?
Vera! Vera!
What has become of you?
Does anybody else in here
Little life
Standing here
Running grace into my ear
Little light
Flickering
Hang on ‘till tomorrow
You can weep me when I’m gone
It might be too late then
But then again
Who am I to say?
If you turn around this time
You have no debt to pay
You owe it to yourself
Vera
Just walk away
Sad the light
Sad the eye
Of the father
And daughter
Little life
Unfolding hands
Holding broken dreams and
Silent sorrow
You can weep me when I’m gone
It might be too late then
But then again
Who am I to say?
If you turn around this time
You have no debt to pay
You owe it to yourself
Vera
Just walk away
And I’ll be right behind you
I’ll be right behind you
Riding right behind you
It’s a laugh
And then you cry
You can lose yourself in giving
You can weep me when I’m gone
It might be too late then
But then again
Who am I to say?
If you turn around this time
You have no debt to pay
You owe it to yourself
Vera
