Army Officer: "Wait Until ISIS Captures One Of Our Pilots"
Since the bombing campaign against ISIS began on September 23rd, the US has launched about 450 sorties. By contrast, Operation Desert Storm kicked off with more than 1,000 sorties the first day. Obama's ISIS strategy is a joke, much like his "coalition."

Origins of ISIS (Islamic State of Iraq and Syria)
In the aftermath of the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Saddam Hussein, the man who ruled the country with an iron fist, was captured. And then he was executed by the new Iraqi government. However despite what most people believe, taking out Saddam wasn't the problem, taking out his political party was. In June 2003, the US-led Coalition Provisional Authority of Iraq, banned the Iraqi Ba'ath party and a

Baghdad remained under Ottoman rule until the establishment of the kingdom of Iraq under British control in 1921. British control was established by a systematic suppression of Iraqi Arab and Kurdish national aspirations. Iraq was given formal independence in 1932, and increased autonomy in 1946. In 1958 the Ira, Faisal II. The city's population grew from an estimated 145,000 in 1900 to 580,000 in 1950 of which 140,000 were Jewish.
During the 1970s Baghdad experienced a period of prosperity and growth because of a sharp increase in the price of petroleum, Iraq's main export. New infrastructure including modern sewage, water, and highway facilities were built during this period. However, the Iran–Iraq War of the 1980s was a difficult time for the city, as money flowed into the army and thousands of residents were killed. Iran launched a number of missile attacks against Baghdad, although they caused relatively little damage and few casualties. In 1991 the Persian Gulf War caused damage to Baghdad's transportation, power, and sanitary infrastructure.
Baghdad was bombed very heavily in March and April 2003 in the 2003 invasion of Iraq, and fell under US control by April 7-April 9. Additional damage was caused by the severe looting[20] during the days following the end of the war. With the deposition of Saddam Hussein's regime, the city was occupied by U.S. troops. The Coalition Provisional Authority established a three-square-mile (8 km²) "Green Zone" within the heart of the city from which it governed Iraq during the period before the new Iraqi government was established. The Coalition Provisional Authority ceded power to the interim government at the end of June 2004 and dissolved itself.
On September 23, 2003, a Gallup poll indicated that about two-thirds of Baghdad residents said that the removal of the Iraqi leader was worth the hardships they encountered, and that they expected a better life in five years' time. As time passed, however, support for the occupation declined dramatically. In April 2004, USA Today reported that a follow-up Gallup poll in Baghdad indicated that "only 13 percent of the people now say the invasion of Iraq was morally justifiable. In the 2003 poll, more than twice that number saw it as the right thing to do."[21]
Most residents of Baghdad became impatient with the coallition forces because essential services such as electricity were still unreliable more than a year after the invasion. In the hot summer of 2004, electricity was only available intermittently in most areas of the city. An additional pressing concern was the lack of security. The curfew imposed immediately after the invasion had been lifted in the winter of 2003, but the city that had once had a vibrant night life was still considered too dangerous after dark for many citizens. Those dangers included kidnapping and the risk of being caught in fighting between security forces and insurgents.
On 10 April 2007, the United States military began construction of a three mile (5 km) long 3.5 metre tall wall around the Sunni district of Baghdad. On 23 April, the Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri Maliki, called for construction to be halted on the wall.
he on-going sectarian violence between Sunni and Shiite militias, by the beginning of summer 2007, cantoned the city of Baghdad into distinct and hostile zones: a larger Shia city (nearly all of the city east of the Tigris, with the exception of Adhamiya and the Rashid districts), and a smaller Sunni city, west of the Tigris (with the exception of Kadhimiya and southwestern districts).

Moscow is “bombing the hell out of ISIS” because President Putin wants to prevent terrorism spilling into Russia, said US presidential candidate Donald Trump, criticizing failed US Middle Eastern policies that have already turned Iraq and Libya into a total mess.
Credit NBC News https://www.youtube.com/user/NBCNews
“It is not even a contest!” Donald Trump said in response to an NBC News presenter’s question about whether it had been better when Saddam Hussein and Muammar Gaddafi were in power.
“Iraq is a disaster… Libya is not even a country,” he explained. “You can make the case, if you look at Libya, look at what we did there – it’s a mess. If you look at Saddam Hussein with Iraq, look what we did there – it's a mess.”
Trump said that Washington is “destroying our country” by wasting too much money on Middle Eastern policies that do not seem to work: “We have spent $2 trillion in Iraq, probably a trillion in Afghanistan…”
Trump stressed that he has nothing against the Russian anti-terrorist operation in Syria.
“I like that Putin is bombing the hell out of ISIS,” Trump said, adding that he believes that the target of the airstrikes is indeed “going to be ISIS.”
“I'll tell you why. Putin has to get rid of ISIS 'cause Putin does not want ISIS coming into Russia,” Trump said. However, he explained that he hopes the operation will eventually weaken Russia and that Russian President Putin “will be begging to get out.”
“You watch, he’ll get bogged down there. He’ll spend a fortune,” Trump forecast. “Everybody that's gone to the Middle East has had nothing but problems.”

This was filmed by a Veteran of OEF who served in both the Corps and the Army. He is currently serving in the reserves, and also a truck driver. He came across this fraud in Gretna, Nebraska, at the Flying J truck stop. Below is how it unfolded in his words:
"As I parked my truck and walked into the Flying J, I noticed this clown and a buddy standing outside talking. I glanced them over and noticed that both of them were ate up!
Being a truck driver I see a lot of other drivers wearing military clothing, maybe one or two pieces but rarely the full uniform with patches and partial name tape.
As I walked in both came in shortly after me and I noticed some patrons thanking him for his service. I looked back while standing in line and he was behind me and what caught my attention was he was still wearing his PC and his collar on his blouse was turned up. He also had two unit patches on his left sleeve one above the other and no name tape on his blouse or his PC.
I asked him who he was with and rattled off something about the "82nd out of Ft Bragg". I started asking him about why was his uniform jacked up and pointing out he had no name tape and other issues. He then stated he just back from Iraq. At that point I asked to see his CAC and he didn't know what I was asking for. So I pulled mine out and showed him.
I told him he was full of shit and I knew he was!
He walked off and at that point I had a couple of patrons come up and tell me he was telling people he was injured in the war and he'd received three Purple Hearts.
At that point is when I started taking pictures and videoing him. At which point I heard him giving some guy a BS story and how he was down and out and could he get a few dollars for a cab ride. That's when I started to video him.
Some lady proclaiming to be the manager, (which I found out today she was actually just an employee filling in for the actual manager who called me today to apologize for the incompetence of his employee) approached me telling me that I was gonna have to leave because I was harassing customers and causing a ruckus.
She said someone in an official military vehicle dropped him off there earlier, which I also found out today was just what the fake had told them!
I called 911 because she was threatening me with trespassing and I wanted to state my case/issue and to not later be charged with something false. I wasn't wrong and I wasn't gonna run because she was trying to protect this imposter.
I was standing outside all the while I had patrons coming up to me telling me what I did wasn't wrong and thanked me.
The deputies showed up and she literally ran to them to get her side of the story out and they told me to stay back.
After they got her side, I could tell by his demeanor that one deputy wasn't trying to hear anything I was about to say. I told him the guy wasn't in the military and he was basically wearing the uniform to get money. He then asked me to why was I causing trouble? I was like " Are you serious"?? I told him I was protecting the uniform I wear and the same one that so many had given their lives wearing.
He then told me to leave the premises! After leaving I called Flying J's corporate office to file a complaint. They were very appreciative for the call and informed me they would be contacting the store manager.
I watched them load this guy into their vehicle, and I found out through the actual manager from Flying J, that the deputies took him up to Sapp Brothers truck stop to drop him off but in the process they asked him for ID and he had three different ID's , all with different names.
BTW, the manage informed that he took this personally and seriously because he had recently retired back in 2012 from 20+ years in the Navy."

The Iraqi army is in shambles. If Iraqi soldiers didn't drop their weapons and run from a much smaller ISIS force, they turned around and joined them. Qatar won't commit troops to fight ISIS, nor will Jordan, Saudi Arabia, or the Gulf Emirate states. They have, in fact, been ISIS' largest supporters, having given millions of dollars and tons of weaponry to the terrorist army in hopes that they would help overthrow Syrian President Bashar al-Assad.
Oops.
Turkey won't fight ISIS unless ISIS is dumb enough to enter Turkey. The Turks have had tanks on a hill outside of the Syrian border city of Kobani for weeks, watching as a humanitarian crisis brewed, watching as Syrian Kurds were slaughtered. They even helped ISIS out a bit by striking Kurds on the Turkish side of the border. We can't count on Turkey.
Every military talking head that can get in front of a microphone and a camera is telling the American public that the fight against ISIS can not be won without "boots on the ground." This is a well known military fact, something which is apparently lost on the US Commander-in-Chief.
Or is it?
Last year Obama was stymied when he tried to get American troops into Syria by claiming the Syrian government had used chemical weapons on civilians, the same lie that he used against Libyan dictator Moammar Gadaffi a year earlier. But this time he failed. As determined by UN investigator Carla Del Ponte', Obama's "Red Line" was crossed not by Assad, but by the "moderate Syrian rebels" Obama and members of Congress had been supporting.
The beheadings of American journalists and other Westerners by ISIS terrorists have already inflamed the passions of the American public, with many calling for American troops to be inserted into the conflict. Imagine what will happen when an American pilot, possibly a woman, is shot down and subsequently beheaded by ISIS. The American public would demand that Obama send American troops into harm's way to destroy ISIS.
This scenario is not at all far-fetched. Not only has ISIS acquired shoulder-fired surface-to-air missiles from a fleeing Iraqi army, they have also taken possession of more than 20,000 similar MANPAD platforms that were "liberated" from Gadaffi's armories as detailed in this episode of The Truth Is Viral: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aAzqSzthnLk
US Ambassador Christopher Stephens was, in fact, running guns from al-Qaeda terrorists in Libya to ISIS through Turkey. That is why he was killed.
In this episode of The Truth Is Viral we present photographic and video evidence that far right members of the Republican party, including Arizona Senator John McCain, are actively supporting ISIS terrorists. Special guest Captain Terry Michael Hestilow - a possible 2016 Presidential candidate - breaks down the situation in Iraq and Syria, explaining why Obama's plan is destined for failure; and what his real objectives might be.
Cpt. Hestilow is a life-long soldier, having fought as a private in the jungles of Vietnam, working his way up the ranks since fighting in the jungles of Vietnam as a private, and retiring as a Captain after his tours in Afghanistan. His Judeo-Christian influenced opinions, further formed by a lifetime of experience as an American soldier, are well worth hearing.
Cpt. Hestilow also talks about the deployment of US troops to West Africa, where the Ebola virus has killed upwards of 4,000 people, and the threat that the virus - and ISIS terrorists who have pledged to strike American soldiers and their families, "slaughtering them in their homes - pose to American citizens abroad and at home.
This episode concludes with an update on the health of the wife of TTiV Publisher/Editor-in-Chief Bobby Powell. DeLynn has received several get well cards in the mail and hundreds of comments and prayers on the TTiV Facebook page, and she wanted me to make sure to yell everyone how grateful she is for all of the prayers, good thoughts, and well wishes.
"Never give up, never surrender."
God bless and Semper Fi,

Kirkuk is the latest part of Iraq to feel the effects of an upturn in violence. The strongly Kurdish city was rocked by a truck bomb on Tuesday which killed at least three people and injured nearly 60 others when it exploded outside a police station.
The Iraqi government is fighting al-Qaeda linked militants of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, or ISIL. They have taken control of much of Anbar province and two cities, Fallujah and Ramadi.
An overnight air-strike and offensive failed to recapture Ramadi, but the Iraqi army claimed at least 25 militants had been killed when a weapons convoy was hit with air-to-ground missiles in a town square.
The US has ruled out sending any troops back to Iraq to help the government, but it is supplying material support and selling Baghdad equipment and weapons, speeding up delivery to drive the offensive against the ISIL.

In the aftermath of the invasion of Iraq in 2003, Saddam Hussein, the man who ruled the country with an iron fist, was captured. And then he was executed by the new Iraqi government. However despite what most people believe, taking out Saddam wasn't the problem, taking out his political party was. In June 2003, the US-led Coalition Provisional Authority of Iraq, banned the Iraqi Ba'ath party and all its members. This was the most ill-conceived decision in the whole invasion of Iraq affair as it completely upset the fragile balance of power that existed in the Middle East.

"Although these operations have dealt a significant blow to the terrorists, who are desperate to prevent Iraqis from deciding Iraq's future, this weekend's car bombings in Baghdad demonstrate they are still dangerous and very capable. We recognise this threat and are taking deliberate steps to reduce it. On December 2nd coalition forces uncovered a weapons cache in a neighbourhood of southern Baghdad, just south of Rasala. Among the ammunitions discovered were three complete car bombs, and several hundred pounds of explosives including RPGs (rocket propelled grenades), mines, grenades and small arms."

6. SOUNDBITE: (English) Major General William Caldwell, US Military Spokesman:
"In the end only Iraqis can provide solutions to Iraqis problems. We continue to work closely with the government of Iraq to develop an Iraqi security force that is both operationally capable and has the confidence of all Iraqis, regardless of sect or ethnicity. The operations conducted this week demonstrate the Iraqi security force is making progress. Developing these forces, it is not a sprint, it is a marathon. The Iraqi security force is making progress towards ensuring that Iraq's future will be determined by Iraqis who want unity and prosperity and not by outside forces who seek to sow chaos and discord."

"We would expect to see the entire country having reached provincial Iraqi control by early fall (autumn)of next year. We should see the complete transfer of command and control of all Iraqi army divisions by late spring, early summer. Again, this is all part of this accelerated time-table discussion that was discussed between the President of the United States and the Prime Minister while they were in Jordan."

STORYLINE:
US Military spokesman Major General William Caldwell hosted a press briefing on Tuesday in Baghdad, where he updated journalists on latest developments in Iraq.
Caldwell first commented on the helicopter crash on Sunday, in which four US troops were killed.
A Marine twin-rotor Sea Knight, with 16 people on board, made an emergency landing in a lake in Anbar province.
Caldwell explained how the four fatalities had occurred.
"The pilots were able to guide the aircraft to the shore and up a boat ramp. However four of the evacuated personnel drowned. All indications are this was a mechanical failure. An investigation is under way," he explained.
Caldwell then detailed the various operations undertaken by US forces over the past seven days, stating that significant gains had been made in dismantling insurgent threats.
He gave details of an operation on Saturday in which he said a significant weapons cache was discovered.
"Among the ammunitions discovered were three complete car bombs, and several hundred pounds of explosives including RPGs, (rocket propelled grenades) mines, grenades and small arms," he said.
But he was keen to stress that, "in the end only Iraqis can provide solutions to Iraq's problems."

Getting There: Iraqi Kurdistan has two international airports, Erbil and Sulaimany. Currently there are direct international flights from Kurdistan to Dubai, Amman, Beirut and Frankfort.
There is the option to reach to Kurdistan by flying to Turkey: - Purchase a ticket to Diyarbakir (the nearest large city to the Turkish / Iraqi Kurdistan border). Once you have crossed the Turkish border into Iraqi Kurdistan (Ibrahim Khalil/Habur), you will be greeted by the Kurdish customs officials who will issue you a visa and further information on your destination.
Getting Around Iraqi Kurdistan: Taxi, Bus, and Private Car Hire. If you are mainly interested in staying in a city, taxi is reliable and good value for money. The bomb blasts in Karbala and Baghdad during the Shia Muslim commemoration of Ashura did more than rock the fragile stability of Iraq - they were a signal to the new power base in the country, the Shias, that their mosques, their shrines and their festivals will be targeted by extremists.
For the first time in three decades, Iraqi Shias were able to mark Ashura - the commemoration of the the martyrdom of Imam Hussain, grandson of the Prophet Mohammed - openly in Karbala.
Cameras followed Shia pilgrims from the UK, USA and Iraq as they wrestled with the decision to travel to Karbala and mark the first free Ashura in three decades.
The 90-minute film records pilgrims' decisions, Ashura itself and the intense emotions of the Shia mourning of Hussain's death. It includes footage of the bombings and their aftermath.

Erbil International Airport (IATA: EBL, ICAO: ORER), is the main airport of Erbil city in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq. Erbil International Airport is centrally located on the Silk Road of the Airways. Following the liberation of Iraq in 2003, the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) decided to transform Erbil's former military base into a modern civil aviation airport to serve as a major gateway to the world. Erbil International Airport (EIA) officially opened on July 7, 2005, and it welcomed its first IATA carrier on 11th December 2006. The KRG has enacted favorable rules to attract foreign investors and to help citizens of the Kurdistan Region in exile return home. Domestic traffic, as well as regional traffic throughout the expansive Middle East, is growing. Kurdistan's great natural resources of oil, natural gas and other minerals are creating a flourishing and rapidly growing business environment. Kurdistan is previously in exile are returning, bringing with them connections to other lands. There is an ever stronger need for efficient air transport, for passengers as well as cargo. The Erbil area has a stable water supply, and is surrounded by scenic and accessible wilderness lands, with greenery, clean streams, waterfalls and caves. This stands in stark contrast to other Middle Eastern destinations, and visitors will fuel an important tourism industry in Kurdistan. These are some of the reasons that the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) and EIA have constructed and equipped an airport for the future, with capacity for three million passengers, and one of the world's longest runways, designed to accommodate the Airbus A380 and cargo aircraft of that class. The airport is the culmination of the vision and strategy put in place in 2003.

The destabilisation of Iraq in the past decade has contributed to the state of anarchy in the Middle East, the rise of extremism and the mushrooming of terrorism. To achieve stability, Iraq must be supported to achieve meaningful reforms and strong central government. Corruption, quota system and foreign intervention are among the illnesses of the country. What are the prospects of Iraq’s transformation into a sovereign, democratic and stable power? These challenges will be debated at this seminar.

In the past several years, the Islamic State of Iraq and Syria (ISIS), has forcefully taken a stronghold in regions throughout the Middle East, and the prominence of their singular brand of terror continues to expand on a daily basis. Few of the world's inhabitants have been immune to frequent news reports of the mass killings, savage beheadings and other acts of blood curdling horror perpetrated by this much feared terrorist organization.
The frightening and timely new documentary ISIS: On the Frontline, produced by Ahlulbayt TV, places us at the epicenter of this ever-evolving cancer, and follows the brave Iraqi citizens who have dared to stand united in their defiance of ISIS.
"There is no doubt that when ISIS tried to take over certain parts of Iraq, their aim was to seize the whole country regardless of the religion followed," attests Sayed Ammar Al-Hakim, the President of the Islamic Supreme Council of Iraq, during the course of the film. According to the testimony of Al-Hakim and others, ISIS militants have shown no favoritism to any particular religion or sect, and have indiscriminately massacred anyone who stands in opposition to their rule. In response to this threat, average Iraqi citizens have been encouraged to enlist in the military to defend their position within their homeland.
The motivations behind these defensive strategies are affirmed by an inside look into just a few of the atrocities committed by ISIS on Iraqi soil. The film's chief witness to these atrocities is Thaher Abdel Kareem, the survivor of a haunting and vicious kidnapping at the hands of the terrorist group.
For viewers who have considered the threat of ISIS only from the outsider's perspective driven by western media outlets, ISIS: On the Frontline offers a valuable portrait of the war being waged on the inside. The challenges faced by those who chose to combat this brutalizing threat are vast, and much blood will be shed before an end is reached. But the drive to defend against the ISIS threat speaks to the very foundations of humanity itself.
"The war is not between the Shia and the Sunni," says interview subject and Iraqi politician Redha Jawad Taki. "This is a war between savages and civilized people."

Meet Jerry Zovko, one of the four blackwater agents who died in an under armored and under guarded patrol vehicle in Falluja, one of the most dangerous cities in the region at the time.
7:49 Blackwater Security pulls at all its political strings in order to avoid retribution for the very much avoidable Felluja deaths. Preventing investigations, and changing opinions.
13:30 Private organizations in Iraq continue to abuse their power, hurting and destroying the lives of prisoners and citizens alike, but not without making a killing in profits.
21:16 Private organizations pay more than the US military, promising “minimal supervision”.
26:06 Corporate greed strikes again. TITAN Services, the lead provider of linguists for America’s Iraq operation hired untrained translators from unreliable backgrounds -making TITAN indirectly responsible for countless avoidable deaths.
28:47 United States turns a convenient blind eye to the continued abuse and killing of Iraqi civilians by US private contractors.
33:50 Private contractors are taking the work–and by extension experience– of trained soldiers. So why are they being denied the training and equipment they need to stay alive and safe?
42:00 Seven people were killed in an attack on a Halliburton fuel convoy. A convoy that had been cleared for transport across a no-drive zone. Is that how KBR values human life?
48:17 Halliburton continues to skimp on health requirements, supplying the it’s men and women with contaminated water, and snuffing out all the attempts that have been made to warn those at risk of infection.
52:22 Halliburton skimps on necessary safety and sanitation measures for its troops while massively overcharging them, and by extension the U.S Government.
55:02 How does Halliburton legally steal from the american government and american citizens? By wasting our money in huge amounts, burning expensive equipment, vehicles and even oil in front of Iraqi citizens.
1:01:48 It has been proven that Halliburton steals huge amounts of money from the U.S, so why haven’t we taken action?
1:06:15 Even today, 12 years after the withdrawal of troops and the end of the Iraq war, war profiteers still exist, and they will not go down without a fight. They have money, power and influence.
If we want change, it’s going to take more than just awareness, it’s going to take action.

The region now known as Iraq has always been, in many ways, world history's ground zero. From this rich territory sprang the earliest cities and empires, earliest armies, and earliest tyrants.
The Kings: From Babylon To Baghdad tells the story of Iraq through the history of its rulers, from Sargon the Great to Saddam Hussein. This feature-length documentary explores the connections and relevance between ancient and modern Iraq and between Iraq and the rest of the planet.
Using dialogue drawn directly from primary sources - original texts of ancient records - it depicts events in dramatic, living reenactments. Lush cinematography filmed on location frames the dramatizations and contemporary reportage. And interviews with the world's leading experts on the historical and current relevance of Iraq complete this authoritative portrait of the men who brought this fabled land glory and despair.
Today, as it has been many times in the past, understanding Iraq is central to the world's well-being. This documentary offers a thorough, thought-provoking view into the politics, personalities, government, geography, culture and religion of this all-important region.

Afshin Rattansi goes underground on the recent chaos in Iraq with Sami Ramadani, an Iraqi refugee, who says the west has misunderstood the complexity of the situation in the country. International media lawyer Paul Tweed talks about the Crown Prosecution Service holding "secret trials' for terrorism suspects and warns that there must be a balance between transparency and protecting lives. We introduce the UK's top secret Middle Eastern spying network - which failed to warn of the trouble brewing in Iraq. The Chilcot Inquiry tops the agenda in this week's PMQs. And has England scored an own goal as a FIFA Ethics Investigator asks questions about a dinner from its World Cup campaign?

The files record 66,081 civilian deaths out of 109,000 recorded deaths. The leak resulted in the Iraq Body Count project adding 15,000 civilian deaths to their count, bringing their total to over 150,000, with roughly 80% of those civilians. It is the biggest leak in the military history of the United States, surpassing the Afghan War documents leak of 25 July 2010.
The logs contain numerous reports of previously unknown or unconfirmed events that took place during the war.
According to the Iraq Body Count project, a sample of the deaths found in about 800 logs, extrapolated to the full set of records, shows an estimated 15,000 civilian deaths that had not been previously admitted by the US government. 66,000 civilians were reported dead in the logs, out of 109,000 deaths in total.[8][10] The IBC has so far added a total of 3,334 of these previously unrecorded civilian deaths to its database from their ongoing analysis of the war logs. A list of these incidents, added as of 2 January 2013, has been published on the IBC website.[11][12]
The Guardian stated that the logs show "US authorities failed to investigate hundreds of reports of abuse, torture, rape and even murder by Iraqi police and soldiers"; the coalition, according to The Guardian, has "a formal policy of ignoring such allegations", unless the allegations involve coalition forces.[2]
Sometimes US troops classified civilian deaths as enemy casualties. For example, the July 12, 2007, Baghdad airstrike by US helicopter gunships which killed two Reuters journalists along with several men thought to be armed suspected to be insurgents. They, including the journalists, were all listed as "enemy killed in action".[2]
Wired Magazine said that even after the Abu Ghraib prisoner abuse incident came to light in 2004, abuse of prisoners or detainees by Iraqi security forces continued; in one recorded case, US troops confiscated a "hand cranked generator with wire clamps" from a Baghdad police station, after a detainee claimed to have been brutalized there.[8]
One report analyzed by the Bureau of Investigative Journalism seems to show that "the US military cleared an Apache helicopter gunship to open fire on Iraqi insurgents who were trying to surrender".[13]
According to Wired Magazine, "WikiLeaks may have just bolstered one of the Bush administration's most controversial claims about the Iraq war: that Iran supplied many of the Iraq insurgency's deadliest weapons and worked hand-in-glove with some of its most lethal militias. The documents indicate that Iran was a major combatant in the Iraq war, as its elite Quds Force trained Iraqi Shiite insurgents and imported deadly weapons like the shape-charged explosively formed penetrator bombs into Iraq for use against civilians, Sunni militants and U.S. troops."[8]
It was reported in the Boston Globe that the documents show Iraqi operatives being trained by Hezbollah in precision military-style kidnappings. Reports also include incidents of US surveillance aircraft lost deep in Iranian territory.[14][15]
A number of the documents, as defined by Al Jazeera English, describe how US troops killed almost 700 civilians for coming too close to checkpoints, including pregnant women and the mentally ill. At least a half-dozen incidents involved Iraqi men transporting pregnant family members to hospitals.[16]
The New York Times said the reports contain evidence of many abuses, including civilian deaths, committed by contractors. The New York Times points out some specific reports, such as one which says "after the IED strike a witness reports the Blackwater employees fired indiscriminately at the scene."[17] In another event on 14 May 2005, an American unit "observed a Blackwater PSD shoot up a civ vehicle" killing a father and wounding his wife and daughter.[17]
A document from December 2006, as defined by The Australian, describes a plan by a Shia militia commander to kidnap US soldiers in Baghdad in late 2006 or early 2007." Also, The Australian reports that "detainee testimony" and "a captured militant's diary" are cited among the documents, in order to demonstrate "how Iran provided Iraqi militias with weapons such as rockets and lethal roadside bombs."

IRAN (Is Not The Problem) is a feature length documentary film responding to the failure of the American mass media to provide the public with relevant and accurate information about the standoff between the US and Iran, as happened before with the lead up to the invasion of Iraq.
We have heard that Iran is a nuclear menace in defiance of the international community, bent on "wiping Israel off the map", supporting terrorism, and unwilling to negotiate. This documentary disputes these claims as they are presented to us and puts them in the context of present and historical US imperialism and hypocrisy with respect to Iran. It looks at the struggle for democracy inside Iran, the consequences of the current escalation and the potential US and/or Israeli attack, and suggests some alternatives to consider.
This 79 minute documentary features Antonia Juhasz, Larry Everest, and other activists and Iranian-Americans. The goal of this movie is to promote dialog and change the debate on Iran, so please consider organizing a screening, big or small, in your area.
Produced by Aaron Newman, an independent film-maker and part of the Scary Cow film co-op in San Francisco. He is an anti-imperialism/pro-democracy activist, founder of the SF Chomsky Book Club, and a member of Hands Off Iran. There are differences of opinion between many of the voices in this film, but all agree that a war would be unjustified. Below are brief video introductions for each of the people who participated.

In 2008, workers emerged from the poisonous dust clouds of Tunisia's mining core to protest for change. Tremors of discontent became a seismic quake, toppling Ben Ali's regime. But what of them now?
"The revolution changed nothing for us. Look at the conditions we're living in! We don't even have enough to buy bread for dinner", says Mukhtar Kraymia, unemployed and outraged. He is one of the 50% unemployed, the 'children of the Arab Spring', who have burst out the other end of revolution and back into the past. Men like Mukhtar now flock to work at Metlaoui's mine, where 60% of the population suffers from pollution related problems, from silicosis to lung cancer. The increasing global hunger for phosphate - which makes our cosmetics, detergents, wine and fertilizer, now accounts for 10% of Tunisia's exports. Yet GAFSA, the State-sponsored corporation in charge of the phosphate treasure trove, is now blockaded by distraught protesters demanding work. "Not a single vehicle should move, and not a single handful of ore should leave until everything is resolved!" shouts Mongi, a local son of a miner who has been refused work. While the corporation deflects the discontent onto an incompetent government, the revolutionaries rage on.

The battle for Iraq has taken another twist after ISIL fighters took control of large parts of the city of Ramadi.
It comes just weeks after Iraqi forces triumphantly took the city of Tikrit and looked set to march on other ISIL strongholds in Anbar province. Ramadi is the regional capital and is just 100km from Baghdad.
On Friday ISIL fighters used multiple suicide attacks to break through defences and capture key government buildings in the city.
The city's authorities say their appeals for help were largely ignored by the government in Baghdad.
People are continuing to flee Ramadi. More than 100,000 have fled in the last month alone.
ISIL has been in control of most of Anbar province since last year. After suffering some recently military setbacks, including reports that some of its leaders have been killed or injured, ISIL can now claim a major victory.
So were reports of ISIL's demise premature? And can the Iraqi government still win back large areas of the country under the group's control?

The rationale for the Iraq War (i.e. the 2003 invasion of Iraq and subsequent hostilities) has been a contentious issue since the Bush administration began actively pressing for military intervention in Iraq in late 2001. The primary rationalization for the Iraq War was articulated by a joint resolution of the U.S. Congress known as the Iraq Resolution.
The U.S. stated that the intent was to remove "a regime that developed and used weapons of mass destruction, that harbored and supported terrorists, committed outrageous human rights abuses, and defied the just demands of the United Nations and the world". Additional reasons have been suggested: "to change the Middle East so as to deny support for militant Islam by pressuring or transforming the nations and transnational systems that support it." For the invasion of Iraq the rationale was "the United States relied on the authority of UN Security Council Resolutions 678 and 687 to use all necessary means to compel Iraq to comply with its international obligations".[3]
In the lead-up to the invasion, the U.S. and UK emphasized the argument that Saddam Hussein was developing "weapons of mass destruction" and thus presented a threat to his neighbors, to the U.S., and to the world community. The U.S. stated "on November 8, 2002, the UN Security Council unanimously adopted Resolution 1441. All fifteen members of the Security Council agreed to give Iraq a final opportunity to comply with its obligations and disarm or face the serious consequences of failing to disarm. The resolution strengthened the mandate of the UN Monitoring and Verification Commission (UNMOVIC) and the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA), giving them authority to go anywhere, at any time and talk to anyone in order to verify Iraq's disarmament."[4] Throughout late 2001, 2002, and early 2003, the Bush Administration worked to build a case for invading Iraq, culminating in then Secretary of State Colin Powell's February 2003 address to the Security Council. Shortly after the invasion, the Central Intelligence Agency, Defense Intelligence Agency, and other intelligence agencies largely discredited evidence related to Iraqi weapons as well as links to Al-Qaeda, and at this point the Bush and Blair Administrations began to shift to secondary rationales for the war, such as the Hussein government's human rights record and promoting democracy in Iraq. Opinion polls showed that the population of nearly all countries opposed a war without UN mandate, and that the view of the United States as a danger to world peace had significantly increased. UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan described the war as illegal, saying in a September 2004 interview that it was "not in conformity with the Security Council."
Accusations of faulty evidence and alleged shifting rationales became the focal point for critics of the war, who charge that the Bush Administration purposely fabricated evidence to justify an invasion it long planned to launch. Supporters of the war claim that the threat from Iraq and Saddam Hussein was real and that this has later been established. The U.S. led the effort for "the redirection of former Iraqi weapons of mass destruction (WMD) scientists, technicians and engineers to civilian employment and discourage emigration of this community from Iraq."
Other critics have noted that the Iraq War has several similarities with the Korean War and Vietnam War.
The United States officially declared its combat role in Iraq over on August 31, 2010, although several thousand troops remained in the country until all American troops were withdrawn from Iraq by December 2011; between that time American troops also engaged in combat with Iraqi insurgents.
The Iraq War was a protracted armed conflict that began with the 20
