Interns www.floydfolks.org & http 1-540-808-2880 -floydlcfgroup@gmail - PO box 179 Floyd,Virginia 24091 Comments by Autumn Townley Summer 2009 While working with the LCF Group over the past year I have learned a variety of skills that have made me a more rounded individual and will greatly help me in the future. I have learned the basics of business accounting by working with Melissa Thompson. I have learned how to balance several company accounts through using the Peachtree program and can now make payments, receive money and create invoices. Through working with the Floyd Virginia Magazine I have learned about the complete process of producing a publication from sales to accounting to ad design to the organization that must be maintained from beginning to end. I have learned more about web building and web design by working with programs such as GoDaddy and Interspire. I have learned how to edit and update web pages as well as create new pages. I have created over fifty web pages for Floyd, Virginia, cyber information, and land sales. By being involved with land sales I have learned more about the detailed work that goes into developing a property as well as the marketing that goes into selling the property. I have learned how to contact newspapers, trading posts, and online classified pages to run property advertisements. I have also had the great opportunity to work with and learn about the FAIRS, Foundation for Amateur International Radio Service. The services FAIRS ...
