Mind Funk (spelled Mindfunk on later releases) were an American rock band containing members of Chemical Waste and several other bands. The band was originally known as "Mind Fuck" but were forced by Epic Records to change their name. They signed to the Sony/Epic-label and released their self-titled debut album in 1991. Guitarist Jason Everman, known for stints on guitar and bass with Nirvana and Soundgarden, joined and later left in September 1994 to join the US Army 2nd Ranger Battalion and the Special Forces. Louis Svitek went on to later perform with Ministry and has since opened his new recording studio and label, Wu-Li Records. John Monte also later performed with Ministry.
Mind Funk is the first album, released in 1991, of the band Mind Funk.
superman inside my brain
hit me like a rumblin' train
this crucifixion sets me free
mind-addiction pulling me
into a void so cold and real
hammers like a ton of steel
expansion lies beyond decay
push all the limits until they crumble
no one can find me here
i'm on fire blazin' fierce
yeah the end is oh so near
no you can touch me here
i'm a fire blazin' fierce
everything down in here is getting all so clear
birth of a man first flower shines
watch them breed and come alive
the unborn self so rarely seen
hallucination eating me
these thoughts my soul try to conceal
just hammer on 'til i reveal
all the secrets that pave the way
push all the limits until they crumble
no one can find me here
i'm on fire blazin' fierce
yeah the end is oh so near
no you can touch me here
see, i'm a fire blazin' fierce
everything is getting all so clear
down in here
[guitar solo]
no one can find me here
i'm on fire blazin' fierce
yeah the end is oh so near
no you can touch me here
see, i'm a fire blazin' fierce
everything down in here is getting all so clear
i'm on fire
it's on fire
i walk down terror boulevard and i go alone
he said the end is terrible even for the good
there is no moment of truth yet i must endure
stretch the outer limits baby i'm searchin' for the cure
i must reach the pinnacle high to be set free
well past this hideous nothing which devours me
and i'm willing to sacrifice all this primal space
for one minute of solitude found in this other place
i'm rolling like a winter tide
unlock the doorways of your mind
for isolation works on the time we borrow
motion breaks the silent tide
vision seeks but will not find
for all the answers lie beyond tomorrow, yeah
no one can find me here
i'm on fire blazin' fierce
yeah the end is oh so near
no you can touch me here
see, i'm a fire blazin' fierce
everything is getting all so clear
down in here
i'm looking for a new way lady
i got to get a new trip baby
can't ya see i'm on my way
