The Dark Side Of Evolution
Plot
"SQUONKumentary" tells the story of an unlikely Broadway transplant. A funky troupe of Pittsburgh musicians prepare their hit show for a Broadway run. But the Squonkers' uplifting musical score and lush bizarre imagery quickly collides, often humorously, with realities of the show's survival. In true underdog fashion, inspiring efforts are launched by show producers, performers, their families and friends to help save "Squonk." Edited and shot with dashes of the show's playful surrealism, the film offers its own take on the "Squonk" aesthetic and attempts to answer the most ticklish question of all: What the heck is Squonk?
Broadway meets the Heartland... Is New York ready for Pittsburgh?
His world is music. She lives in a world without sound.
A love story beyond words.
Plot
Gangster's moll Honey Swanson goes into hiding when her boyfriend is under investigation by the police. Where better to hide than a musical research institute staffed entirely by lonely bachelors? Professor Hobart Frisbee: [to Miss Bragg, after she has summoned a cab for Honey Swanson] It's all yours, Crabapple Annie!
We're overheating in a small town world
We're overeating in a small town world
I hear the sound of several different crimes
The distant eel and the silver chimes
Lieutenant Hodges often said to me
"I see a shoal of them far out to sea"
A distant cormorant above the grey
It wheels in dots and then it falls away
A feather biro in a knotted clump
Performs a vixen with a feline hump
I wanna hold you in a solar globe
The way your body is beneath a robe
Bass, bass
The juicy flounder and the tender chub
Will swim around you when you leave the pub
Their mouths are open and they will not shut
Unless you kiss them all behind the hut
But don't go messing with a guy like Reg
He'll leave you gurgling behind the hedge
Bass, I'm talking about bass
Let me tell you about bass
You wanna ooze with a bass
The looming mullet and the wily bream
Are at the window with a quiet scream
The feisty barbel and the gruesome tench
Are decomposing on a yellow bench
There's something fluttering upon the sand
And all I wanna do is hold your hand
Bass, talking about a bass
Let me tell you about a bass
I wanna function with a bass
Because
He'd never make love to a loaf of bread
Unless of course he found one in his bed
Now frogs are reproducing on your back
And bubbles keep emerging from a crack
It's not a cormorant it's not a shag
[king tee]
Yo pooh, let's.. drop.. some..
Bass, to make the walls shake
And vibrate the floor, just like an earthquake
King tee is back again, but with a new topic
I wouldn't listen too close cause it's toxic
A new format, complete with the tool
Even though I transform, I stay cool
For me to get taken, how would you figure it
Right off the bat, if you thought so would be ignorant
Or just stupid, or cold dumb
I play lead vocals, pooh plays drums
Keith does cuts, suckers get torn but
I gotta break, here comes the horns..
{*samples and scratches*}
Bass, to make your heart shiver
I know you, remember back when I used to wear silver
But I gave it a toss, cause I was told
That you're not a real b-boy, without real gold
So i, went downtown to see
How much is the thirty inch dookie
It's quite a bit of money for a big gold chain
Throw him a thousand then he hand me some change
And now I'm cooler, in other words I got it goin
Sway to the side, while I'm showin a professional skill
That I put together with perfection
I gotta clear my throat, punch in the horn section!
{*samples*}
Cause I need some boom, to crack the walls
Break the windows, shake the room
When I'm done take my photo, this is how it go though
King of cool lyrics, and I'm solo
As a rhyme preacher, shoulda been a teacher
Let the bass reach ya, and let it beat ya
Never givin up cause I persist to be the dopest
I wouldn't take it as a gag or a joke it's
Serious, bass drum kickin like a ninja
You wanna dance to death, (? ) send ya
If you say that I'm the coolest I'll probably say "truly!"
But at this time I represent keith cooley
{*samples and scratches*}
Verse four, the part where I get it off
Then, try to rush it cause the studio costs
I mean the main idea is bass
And you probably get a bruise when it's at your face, so
Don't get mad or either angry at me
I'm just a lyricist, and my name's tee
The supreme cool kid who puts life in the mic
I need bass from a drum, to hell with the pipe!
Casanova fly guy, funky fresh in the flesh
And to those who don't you best believe I'm the best
If it's fashion I'm flashin, just like the drums
{"hold it now.." - ".. here it kiddy come comes!"}
{*samples*}
Now keith! (yeah) how you livin homes? (l-l-like, like this..)
Now everybody in the disco if you're feelin alright
And you know king tee's the mc of the night
Don't front, get up, let me know what's happenin
Keith does the scratchin for the king tee's rappin
I'm from compton though, I travelled the nation
And from every different state I get different condescation
I'm the {k-k-king..} so just give me some space
Back up and just let {cool drop that bass!}
{*scratches*}
{cool drop that bass!}
Tell me, pretty girl
How low, how low can you go?
Can I see it, girl?
(I can see it, boy)
Stop being a tease
Let me, let me get a peek
Let me see it, girl
(Okay, watch my face, though)
Boom boom boom
Wobble wobble wobble (x4)
I told you dos
Won't tell you tres
Keep your hands to yourself
Not below the waist
Don't touch the bass
(Don't do it, don't do it) (x3)
Don't touch my
Boom boom boom
Wobble wobble wobble
Some call it booty
I call it bass
When she walks through the club
Everything shakes
Look how it's shaped
How it sits down low
Like it's on hydraulics
Every key, every note
It's so in tune
The pitch is perfect
I'm ready to dance
This is beautiful music
I'm dying to touch it
It's got me out my seat
What the hell was I thinking
When I made this beat, come on!
Tell me, pretty girl
How low, how low can you go?
Can I see it, girl?
(I can see it, boy)
Stop being a tease
Let me, let me get a peek
Let me see it, girl
(Okay, watch my face, though)
Boom boom boom
Wobble wobble wobble (x4)
I told you dos
Won't tell you tres
Keep your hands to yourself
Not below the waist
Don't touch the bass
(Don't do it, don't do it) (x3)
Don't touch my --
I'd like to sail around the world in my mind
I'd like to snowboard naked in the morning
Jump out of a helicopter freeze my behind
I'd like to ride up on the space shuttle where there's no gravity
I'd like to float down just for fun cos you see
Space is the place at least for me
And it's all
In my mind
I live inside my imagination
Yes it's all
In my mind
My imagination stays on vacation
And I like to go there
When I have the time
Which is all the time
I'd like to fly across the ocean with no plane
I'd like to walk the runway down the highway
In the pouring rain in the left lane
I'd like to do the moonwalk on top of a speeding bullet train
I'd like to tie a zipline from the space needle to the empire state
Building
Zip down with kurt cobain
In my mind
I live inside my imagination
Yes it's all
In my mind
My imagination stays on vacation
And I like to go there
When I have the time
Which is all the time
Is there a bridge
Between life and the real world
Would it be safe to cross
I'd rather join the circus
Than be the dude that gets shot out of a cannon
Then hurled across three rings
I would land up on my feet
You know I would just like a ninja
I'd like to catch myself some scuba diving
In the shark tank at the aquarium
I'd like to skinny dip with the alligators at the zoo
I enjoy being the president of the united states of america
I'd like to go down niagra falls with nothin but my flip flops
And an inner tube
Cos it's all
In my mind
I live inside my imagination
Yes it's all
In my mind
My imagination stays on vacation
And I like to go there
When I have the time
Which is all the time
I am Elvis
And I'm alive
