The BMW 327 was built in 1937. It was one of the most beautiful cars in that time. It has a completely different design language compared to previous classic car bodies from the 20s and 30s. The Design of the BMW 327 has influenced following generations of BMW’s, such as the so called baroque angel (BMW 501/502) from 1952.

The BMW 327 was available as a coupe and cabriolet touring sports car, the built the Bavarian Motor Works 1937-1941 at its branch Eisenach. The bodies supplied the Berlin manufacturer Ambi-Budd. 1606 convertibles and coupes 265 were made during the four-year production period. The built along behind the front axle 6-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 1971 cc agreed substantially with the engine of the BMW 326. In the sportier version of the BMW 327 328 with the three-carburettor engine of the BMW 328 - 80 hp (59 kW) have been achieved. In order for a maximum speed of 140 km/h (87mph) was possible. Externally, this stronger variant was seen only at the wheels and a revised speedometer. Between 1939 and 1941 , at least one BMW 335 Sport Cabriolet with the body of the BMW 327 and the 90 -hp 3.5-liter engine of the BMW has also created 335 " highway vehicle" with a unique sound. In the postwar years the destroyed car plant was built in Eisenach again . After a dispute with the West German BMW Group now it came in June 1952 renamed Eisenach engine plant (EMW ) . Around the same time the production of the pre-war 327 was almost unchanged resumed as EMW 327. Between 1952 and 1955, slightly more than 500 EMWs were manufactured in the GDR (DDR). After the Second World War, the construction of the BMW 327 was taken over by the British Bristol Aircraft Company, which started its activities as an automobile manufacturer with this model. The company Bristol Cars produced and sold the vehicle with the coupé body in 1947 under the name Bristol 400 The engine was used in numerous variations in Bristol 406.

This BMW 327 has had the same owner from 1959 until today, last driven in 1966-67 and then taken apart for restoration, which never came to an end.
The new owner will, I am sure, commence the task and present us with a beautiful 327 in about 2 years.
As far as I know by now, the car has had only 7 owners but I will continue the historical search from 1939, when the car was first registered in Sweden.
Delivered from BMW on 17/8 1939 to "Svenska BMW Agenturen" in Stockholm, Sweden.

BMW 327
The BMW 327 is a medium sized touring coupé produced by the Bavarian firm between 1937 and 1941, and again produced after 1945. It sat on a shortened version of the BMW 326 chassis.
Launch
The first 327, launched in 1937, was a cabriolet. In 1938, this was joined by a fixed head coupé version. The car was shorter and lower than its sedan counterpart, but shared the famous BMW grill and a streamlined form representative of the more progressive designs of the 1930s.
Technical
Mechanically, the car utilised the hydraulic brake control, gear box, clutch and front suspension system first seen on the BMW 326, along with the live axle used on the BMW 320 and BMW 328. The BMW M78 straight-6 engine was used. The advertised top speed was 125 km/h (78 mph).
A higher-powered model, the 327/28, was offered with the M328 engine. 569 of these high-powered 327/28 cars were built up to 1940.
Commercial
Among some enthusiasts, the 327 has subsequently been overshadowed by its more uncompromising sibling, the 80 bhp (60 kW) BMW 328 which appeared in April 1938. In its day, however, the 327 was the bigger seller, with 1,396 base engined versions built between 1937 and 1941, and significant further production after 1945.

BMW was established as a business entity following a restructuring of the Rapp Motorenwerke aircraft manufacturing firm in 1917. After the end of World War I in 1918, BMW was forced to cease aircraft-engine production by the terms of the Versailles Armistice Treaty. The company consequently shifted to motorcycle production as the restrictions of the treaty started to be lifted in 1923, followed by automobiles in 1928–29.

The BMW 327 was available as a coupe and cabriolet touring sports car, the built the Bavarian Motor Works 1937-1941 at its branch Eisenach. The bodies supplied the Berlin manufacturer Ambi-Budd. 1606 convertibles and coupes 265 were made during the four-year production period. The built along behind the front axle 6-cylinder in-line engine with a displacement of 1971 cc agreed substantially with the engine of the BMW 326. In the sportier version of the BMW 327 328 with the three-carburettor engine of the BMW 328 - 80 hp (59 kW) have been achieved. In order for a maximum speed of 140 km/h (87mph) was possible. Externally, this stronger variant was seen only at the wheels and a revised speedometer. Between 1939 and 1941 , at least one BMW 335 Sport Cabriolet with the body of the BMW 327 and ...

BMW 327 1939
This BMW 327 has had the same owner from 1959 until today, last driven in 1966-67 and then taken apart for restoration, which never came to an end. The new owner will, I am sure, commence the task and present us with a beautiful 327 in about 2 years. As far as I know by now, the car has had only 7 owners but I will continue the historical search from 1939, when the car was first registered in Sweden. Delivered from BMW on 17/8 1939 to "Svenska BMW Agenturen" in Stockholm, Sweden. More will follow in due time.

The company Bristol Cars produced and sold the vehicle with the coupé body in 1947 under the name Bristol 400 The engine was used in numerous variations in Bristol 406.

The staff at Jellybean AutoCrafters held an "unveiling party" upon the completion of the 1938 BMW 327/28 Cabriolet. 125 people attended the wine and cheese event and Joel Stobbe entertained us with his Cello. It was a great way to commemorate such an awesome and significant vehicle. The restoration took place over a 3 year period clocking in 5000 hours of work on it. The Fw190 F-8 heavy fighter-bomber was produced in large numbers from the beginning of 1944 onwards. The F series was developed in 1943 specifically for the ground attack role. Focke Wulf Fw190 F-8
After the Bf 109 the Fw 190 was the second standard fighter in the German Luftwaffe. The aircraft proved to be both versatile and very robust. The Fw190 F-8 heavy fighter-bomber was produced in large numbers from the beginning of 1944 onwards. The F series was developed in 1943 specifically for the ground attack role. A 700 kg (1500 lb) bomb load could be carried on five external attachment points. The fuselage armour plating and the wing spars in the area of the main landing gear were strengthened, otherwise the F-8 corresponded to A-8 fighter version. After mass production had started a new wooden bladed propeller and a bubble-shaped canopy with reinforced head armour-protection were also installed on the F-8. BMW (siglas en alemán de: Bayerische Motoren Werke, «Fábricas bávaras de motores») es un fabricante alemán de automóviles deportivos de lujo y motocicletas, cuya sede se encuentra en Múnich. Sus subsidiarias son Rolls-Royce, Mini y BMW Bank. BMW es el líder mundial en ventas entre los fabricantes de gama alta, compite principalmente con Audi, Lexus y Mercedes Benz, entre otros vehículos de gama alta.
Comienzos[editar]
El predecesor de BMW fue la empresa Rapp Motorenwerke GmbH, fundada en 1913 por Karl Rapp. Cambiaron el nombre en abril de 1917, en primer lugar a BMW GmbH (sociedad limitada) para terminar en BMW AG, un año más tarde tras su conversión en sociedad anónima. La primera directora general fue Ana maría, que mantendría el cargo durante 20 años. El ingeniero Max Friz destacó en la joven empresa por desarrollar en 1917 un motor de avión de alta compresión, gracias a lo cual se pudo reducir la pérdida de prestaciones en las alturas. Esta innovación tuvo tal aceptación que BMW recibió un pedido de 2.000 motores por parte de la administración del ejército prusiano. El 17 de junio de 1919 se alcanzó el récord de altura de 9.760 metros con un BMW IIIa. El final de la Primera Guerra Mundial y el Tratado de Versalles pareció ser la fase final de la empresa, ya que el tratado prohibía la fabricación durante 5 años de motores de avión, por aquel entonces el único producto de BMW. En 1922 Camillo Castiglioni, accionista principal de la compañía abandonó la empresa para irse a Bayerische Flugzeugwerke AG (BFW), llevándose también los derechos de la marca BMW.
La empresa BFW era originaria de la empresa Gustav-Otto-Flugzeugwerk, que fundara el 7 de marzo de 1916 Gustav Otto, hijo de Nikolaus August Otto, inventor del motor de combustión. El 7 de marzo de 1916 se considera, en la descripción de la historia de la empresa, como fecha oficial de fundación de BMW. Con la salida de Castiglioni los Bayerische Flugzeugwerke (BFW) dejarían lugar a BMW. La empresa que se llamara hasta entonces BMW paso a llamarse Süddeutsche Bremsen-AG y después Knorr-Bremse, empresa industrial de importancia en el sector de los frenos.
Logotipo[editar]
El conocido logotipo blanco y azul de BMW se creó en 1917, cuando la empresa aún se dedicaba a la fabricación de motores de avión y simboliza la bandera del Estado Libre de Baviera (simbolizaba una hélice en movimiento sobre un cielo azul,4 imagen que fue utilizada por la empresa para una campaña publicitaria de 19295 ).
Primera motocicleta BMW[editar]
Concebida sobre el papel a lo largo de 1922, la primera motocicleta BMW R 32 causa auténtico furor durante su presentación en la Exposición de Berlín de 1923. Con el fin de mejorar la refrigeración por aire, el Ingeniero Jefe Max Friz coloca el motor plano de forma transversal en un chasis de doble tubo y la potencia se transmite directamente a la rueda a través de un eje de cardán: un principio de diseño que se sigue utilizando en las motocicletas de BMW hoy en día. A partir de 1924 se volvieron a producir motores de avión. El Schienenzeppelin fabricado en 1930 fue propulsado con un motor BMW.

En 1945 la tradicional planta en Múnich estaba casi totalmente destruida, y la planta Automobilwerk Eisenach estaba ocupada por los soviéticos (a través de la R.D.A.).[cita requerida] Debido al hecho de que todas las herramientas de producción se encontraban en la planta de Eisenach, inmediatamente después de la guerra la empresa estaba en condiciones de seguir produciendo los mismos modelos que antes de la guerra bajo la marca "BMW".[cita requerida] Dado que BMW en Múnich no estaba dispuesto a que se produjeran vehículos bajo su marca sin tener control alguno sobre la producción, en 1951 consiguieron en las cortes prohibir a la fábrica de Eisenach que produjeran vehículos bajo el nombre "BMW". Los productos de la fábrica de Eisenach se fabricaron entonces bajo el nombre "EMW". La empresa pasó a denominarse Volkseigener Betrieb (VEB) en 1952.
