East Africa is one of the most beautiful and diverse landscapes in the world and its magnificent wilderness and fascinating wildlife is one of the few remaining unspoiled regions on earth. Lake Naivasha is the ideal habitat for both the rare Fish Eagle and African Eagle, thus it is a perfect location from which to observe these fascinating birds. Due to its rich variety of wildlife and the spectacular beauty of its landscape Kenya is one of Africa’s most popular safari destinations. The Massai Mara National Park is located around six hours from Nairobi and is one of the country’s most extraordinary game reserves. Its name indicates the presence of one of Africa’s most colourful tribes, the Massai. The Amboseli National Park also contains many of East Africa’s most important landscapes and represents the magnificence of the African flora and fauna that grows in this relatively small, protected area. The local wildlife stays at a safe distance from the geysers of Lake Bogoria as the steaming hot springs can prove fatal for the flamingos and other water birds that live there. Nevertheless, quite often the bones of dead animals can be seen close to the geysers as some venture too close and are killed by the hot steam. At an altitude of nearly six thousand metres, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain on the African continent. For most of the time its summit is covered by a dense ring of cloud that gives the mountain an air of mystique. There are few other places on earth that offer the huge variety of nature as does the legendary east of the African continent. A magical destination and a wild natural paradise that is second to none!

Steven Spielberg admits he didn't want to do Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull

In this documentary (found on the Crystal Skull DVD), Steven Spielberg admits he did not want to have aliens as a plot in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. Not only that, but he admits that he didn't want to do another Indy movie PERIOD. He was coerced into doing the movie and the alien plot by George Lucas. He felt that the Indy franchise should be left alone since it ended on such a good note. I, like many Indy fans, was severely disappointed in the Crystal Skull. It's not that it wasn't a good sequel, it's the fact that it was just a bad movie in general, in my opinion of course. I felt the problems all lied in the script since it actually had a pretty high production value. I felt not only was the movie dumbed down for today's audiences and children, but loaded with unnessecary CGI. Within the FIRST 10 seconds of the movie, we see a CGI prarie dog which pops up 3 more times for "comedic effect." Between the fridge, the monkeys, the waterfalls, the alien saucer and the bad dialogue...to me it felt more like National Treasure than an Indiana Jones movie. Also, it felt like whoever wrote the script, never bothered to watch the first three (which wasn't the case). That said, I love Steven Spielberg. His movies were part of the reason I wanted to get into filmmaking, I grew up on them. And for Mr. Lucas, he wrote 6 (3 star wars, 3 Indy) amazing movies in my opinion. So I mean no ill will toward them, just a disappointed fan, movie goer, and Indy fan. This is the ONLY movie of Spielberg's I would call "bad." Pretty good track record if you ask me, over 30 years of filmmaking.

The Ajuran Sultanate, also spelled as the Ajuuraan Sultanate, was a Somali empire that ruled over large parts of the Horn of Africa in the Middle Ages. Through a strong centralized administration and an aggressive military stance towards invaders, the Ajuran Sultanate successfully resisted an Oromo invasion from the west and a Portuguese incursion from the east during the Gaal Madow and the Ajuran-Portuguese wars. Trading routes dating from the ancient and early medieval periods of Somali maritime enterprise were strengthened or re-established, and foreign trade and commerce in the coastal provinces flourished with ships sailing to and coming from many kingdoms and empires in East Asia, South Asia, Europe, the Near East, North Africa and East Africa.

This historical cultural landmark witnessed the first music festival for the Arab Unity in 1969; but on Friday evening it was taken over by the beating moves of the best 16 B-Boys from Algeria, Bahrain, Egypt, Jordan, Kuwait, KSA, Lebanon, Morocco, Oman, Qatar, Senegal, South Africa and Tunisia. After several rounds of head-to-head battles B-Boy Benny (South Africa) emerged as champion and qualified to the World Final, which will take place in Paris on November 29.

Focusing on some of the world's last great populations of large mammals--elephants, giraffes, lions, gorillas and their kin--he created two of the twenty-first century's most popular photographic books: the instant bestsellers On This Earth (2005) and A Shadow Falls (2009). Portraying East Africa's animals with a solemnity and empathy usually reserved for human subjects, Brandt's photographs "tell us, in a way that is beyond words, that we do not own this planet, and are not the only beings living on it who matter," as philosopher Peter Singer writes in an essay in this new volume. On This Earth, A Shadow Falls collects the most memorable images from Brandt's first two books in a handsome linen-bound edition, printed in quadratone at Meridian in the U.S. A bestseller since its release in 2012, On This Earth, A Shadow Falls includes essays by Peter Singer, renowned primatologist Jane Goodall, author Alice Sebold and photography critic Vicki Goldberg. With Africa's natural resources being fast wiped out, this volume stands all the more movingly as a last testament and elegy to a disappearing world.Nick Brandt (born 1966) photographs exclusively in Africa, using medium-format black-and-white film without telephoto or zoom lenses. Born in Britain and currently based in Southern California, Brandt cofounded Big Life Foundation in September 2010, which helps protect the endangered wildlife inhabiting a large area of East Africa.
