Cable TV Hong Kong (Hong Kong Cable/CTVHK), previously known as Wharf Cable before October 1998, is owned and operated by i-CABLE Communications Limited. It is the first subscription television service provider in Hong Kong, offering a broad range of information and entertainment to its viewers through over 100 different pay channels, of which 54 are produced by HKCTV.

Hong Kong Cable Television Limited (HKCTV) was renamed in October 1998 from Wharf Cable. Being the second subscription-based TV after the Rediffusion Television (RTV) established in 1957, HKCTV obtained its 12-years Subscription Television Broadcasting Licence from the HKSAR Government in 1993. Since 31 October 1993, its multi-channel pay-television service began to operate for Hong Kong viewers. Along with its establishment, HKCTV has onset the trend of using multi-channel pay-television services in Hong Kong. The rise of this service provides a greater variety of alternatives for entertainment and information to Hong Kong viewers.

Hong Kong (Chinese: 香港) is one of two special administrative regions (SARs) of the People's Republic of China (PRC), the other being Macau. A city-state situated on China's south coast and enclosed by the Pearl River Delta and South China Sea, it is known for its expansive skyline and deep natural harbour. With a land mass of 1,104 km² (426 sq mi) and a population of seven million people, Hong Kong is one of the most densely populated areas in the world. Hong Kong's population is 95 percent ethnic Chinese and 5 percent from other groups. Hong Kong's Han Chinese majority originate mainly from the cities of Guangzhou and Taishan in the neighbouring Guangdong province.

Hong Kong became a colony of the British Empire after the First Opium War (1839–42). Originally confined to Hong Kong Island, the colony's boundaries were extended in stages to the Kowloon Peninsula in 1860 and then the New Territories in 1898. It was occupied by Japan during the Pacific War, after which the British resumed control until 1997, when China resumed sovereignty. The region espoused minimum government intervention under the ethos of positive non-interventionism during the colonial era. The time period greatly influenced the current culture of Hong Kong, often described as "East meets West", and the educational system, which used to loosely follow the system in England until reforms implemented in 2009.

Cable television is a system of providing television programs to consumers via radio frequency (RF) signals transmitted to televisions through coaxial cables or digital light pulses through fixed optical fibers located on the subscriber's property. This can be compared to over-the-air method used in traditional broadcast television (via radio waves) in which a television antenna is required. FM radio programming, high-speed Internet, telephony, and similar non-television services may also be provided through cable television.

Most American television sets are cable-ready and have a cable television tuner capable of receiving cable TV already built-in that is delivered as an analog signal (UK televisions are set up to receive Freeview digital terrestrial broadcasting). To obtain premium television most televisions require a set top box called a cable converter that processes digital signals. The majority of basic cable channels can be received without a converter or digital television adapter that the cable companies usually charge for, by connecting the copper wire with the F connector to the Ant In that is located on the back of the television set.

Dong Dong (simplified Chinese: 董栋; traditional Chinese: 董棟; pinyin: Dǒng Dòng; born 1989-04-13 in Zhengzhou, Henan) is a male Chinese trampoline gymnast who competed in the 2008 Summer Olympics where he won the Bronze medal.

At the 2007 World Championships in Quebec City, he came 2nd in the Individual event. In the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing, he won the Bronze medal. Dong won the 2009 World Championships Individual Championship in St. Petersburg, Russia.
