The buckle or clasp is a device used for fastening two loose ends, with one end attached to it and the other held by a catch in a secure but adjustable manner. Usually overlooked and taken for granted, the invention of the buckle has been indispensable in securing two ends before the invention of the zipper. The basic buckle frame comes in a variety of shapes and sizes dependent on the intended use and fashion of the era. Buckles are still in very much use today as they have been in the past with more than just securing one’s belt, but being one of the most dependable devices in securing a range of items.
The word "buckle" enters Middle English via Old French and the Latin buccula or "cheek-strap," as for a helmet. Some of the earliest buckles known are those used by Roman soldiers to strap their body armor together and prominently on the balteus and cingulum. Made out of bronze and expensive, these buckles were purely functional for their strength and durability vital to the individual soldier. The baldric was a later belt worn diagonally over the right shoulder down to the waist at the left carrying the sword, and its buckle therefore was as important as that on a Roman soldier’s armor.

May becomes a lonely, weird young woman, working in an animal hospital and assisting the veterinarian in surgeries and sewing operated animals most of the time. Her lesbian colleague Polly has a sort of attraction for her. When the shy May meets the mechanic Adam Stubbs, she loves his hands and has a crush on him. They date, but the weirdness and bizarre behavior of May pushes Adam away from her. Alone, May has a brief affair with Polly, but she feels rejected again when her colleague meets Ambrosia. If you can't find a friend... make one.
Be Careful... She Just Might Take Your Heart.
Adam: Whatcha readin' about?::May: Amputation.::Adam: Is that for work?::May: Nope. It's just for fun.
Mama: I've always said, "If you can't find a friend, make one."
Polly: You're funny. You want to watch me file?
May: [to Suzy, the doll] I told you to face the goddamn wall!
[Polly is making out with May]::Polly: Do you feel weird doing this?::May: I am weird.::Polly: I love weird.
May: You don't think I'm weird?::Adam: I do think you're weird.::May: I knew that.::Adam: I like weird. I like weird a lot.
May: [to doll] I'll bet you're wondering what I'm making!::[pause]::May: Okay, I'll tell you.::[giggles]::May: I saw someone today. A boy. You know how when you meet someone... and you think you like them? And then, the more you talk to them, you see parts that you don't like. Like that guy on the bench. And sometimes, you end up not liking any parts at all. But this boy is different. I like every part of him. Especially his hands, they're beautiful.::[pause]::May: Don't be mad, you've been my friend my whole life. And you see me, you always have, but... I need a real friend. Someone I can hold.
May: Okay. A couple of weeks ago, and old man comes in, and says his dog is dying. And he begs us to save it. A 90-pound black lad named Seymour. We take him in and run some tests, and find that he has a twisted bowel, and needs to be operated on immediately. So we shave Seymour's tummy, we cut him open, and take out a piece of intestine about - about the size of a hot dog. Everything went smooth, but... when we went to sew Seymour back up, we realized we were out of the heavy sutures your supposed to use for large dogs. So the doctor decided that if we tripled up on cat sutures, that should do the trick. Well... a few days go by, and the old man calls up hysterical. The sutures had burst while he was at work, and by the time he got home, Seymour was sprawled out on the back porch with his guts spread all over the concrete, and the fence was soaked in blood all around the yard. It was a mess.::[Adam stares in disgust]::May: I had to sew that one back up.::[May giggles insanely]
Polly: Maybe we can hang out, eat some melons.
Foreign Doctor: Moy, I need a big scupel for German-a Shepherd surgery tomorrow!

Songs were meant to sing while we're young;
Ev' - ry day is spring while we're young.
None can re - fuse; time flies so fast.
Too dear to lose, and too sweet to last.
Though it may be just for to - day,
Share our love we must, while we may;
How blue the sky, all sweet sur - prise,
Shines be - fore our eyes while we're young.
How blue the sky, all sweet sur - prise,
I left a note on his dresser
And my old wedding ring
With these good-bye words
How can I sing?
Good-bye
Oh, sleepy head
I'm packing you in
Like I said
Take care of everything
I'm leaving my wedding ring
Don't look for me
I'll get ahead
Remember, darling
Don't smoke in bed
(Instrumental)
Don't look for me
I'll get ahead
Remember, darling
I'm gonna love you, like nobody's loved you
Come rain or come shine
High as a mountain, deep as a river
Come rain or come shine
I guess when you met me
It was just one of those things
But don't you ever bet me
'cause I'm gonna be true if you let me
You're gonna love me, like nobody's loved me
Come rain or come shine
We'll be happy together, unhappy together
Now won't that be just fine
The days may be cloudy or sunny
We're in or out of the money
But I'm with you always
Well you are
Such an easy evil
You're such a sensuous sin
Sometimes I don't know where I'm goin'
'Til I been taken in
You're such an easy evil
Such a promise of fun
Sometimes I don't know what I'm doin'
'Til I'm done, you're a sneaky one
Here he comes now touchin' me
Callin' my name
Again
Here I go now
Like a moth to a flame
I'm a puppet for you baby
Such an easy evil
You're such a sensuous sin
Sometimes I don't know where I'm goin'
'Til I been taken in, yeah
Ooh, ooh, yeah, ooh, oh
Here he comes now touchin' me
Callin' my name
Again
Here I go now
Like a moth to a flame
I'm a puppet for you baby
Such an easy evil
You're such a sensuous sin
Sometimes I don't know where I'm goin'
'Til I been taken in
Well, no, no, no, no, no, no
No, no, no, no, no, no, no
'Til I been taken in
I been taken in
Do I love you do I?
Doesn't one and one make two?
Do I love you do I?
Does July need a sky of blue?
Would I miss you, would I, if you ever should go away?
If the sun should desert the day, what would life be?
Will I leave you, never?
Could the ocean leave the shore?
Will I worship you forever?
Isn't heaven forevermore?
Do I love you, do I?
Oh my dear it's so easy to see,
Don't you know I do, don't I show you I do,
Just as you love me.
Will I leave you, never?
Could the ocean leave the shore?
Will I worship you forever?
Isn't heaven forevermore?
Do I love you, do I?
Oh my dear it's so easy to see,
Don't you know I do, don't I show you I do,
The days of wine and roses,
Laugh and run away,
Like a child at play,
Through a meadowland,
Toward a closing door,
A door marked never more,
That wasnt there before.
The lonely night discloses,
Just a passing breeze,
Filled with memories,
Of the golden smile,
That introduced me to,
The days of wine and roses,
And you!
The lonely night discloses,
Just a passing breeze,
Filled with memories,
Of the golden smile,
That introduced me to,
The days of wine and roses,
You're my thrill, you do something to me
You send chills right through me when I look at you
'Cause you're my thrill, you're my thrill
How my pulse increases, I just go to pieces
When I look at you 'cause you're my thrill
Mmm, nothing seems to matter
Mmm, here's my heart on a silver platter
Where's my will? Why this strange desire?
That keeps mounting higher when I look at you
I can't keep still, you're my thrill
Where's my will? Why this strange desire?
That keeps mounting higher when I look at you
You're mine, you
You belong to me, you
I will never free you
You're here with me to stay
You're mine you
You are mine completely
Love me strong or sweetly
I need you night and day
Arm-in-arm, hand-in-hand
We will be found together
Heart-to-heart, lips-to-lips
We're chained and bound together
I own you
I don't need to buy love
You're a slave to my love
In every way, you're mine
Arm-in-arm, hand-in-hand
We will be found together
Heart-to-heart, lips-to-lips
We're chained and bound together
I own you
I don't need to buy love
You're a slave to my love
Every kiss, every hug, seems to act just like a drug
You're getting to be a habit with me
Let me stay in your arms, I'm addicted to your charms
You're getting to be a habit with me
I used to think your love was something that I
Could take or leave alone
But now, I couldn't do without my supply
I need you for my own
I just can't break away, I must have you every day
As regularly as coffee or tea
You've got me in your clutches and I can't get free
You're getting to be a habit with me
You're getting to be a habit with me
You're getting to be a habit with me
I used to think your love was something that I
Could take or leave alone
But now, I couldn't do without my supply
I need you for my own
I just can't break away, I must have you every day
As regularly as coffee or tea
You've got me in your clutches and I can't get free
You're getting to be a habit with me
You're getting to be a habit with me
You said someday you'd turn the tide,
And I'd be laughin' on the other side,
And you was right, baby,
Baby, you was so right!
You said someday the worm would turn,
I had some lessons that I had to learn,
And you was right, baby,
Baby, you was so right!
I gave you a story, you gave me the gate!
I wish you'd come back but you say it's too late.
I look kind of silly,
But I guess I'll hold it until you come back.
You said someday you'd pass me by,
That I'd be tellin' you just one too many lies,
And you was right, baby,
Baby, you was so right!
You said someday you'd pass me by,
That I'd be tellin' you just one too many lies,
And you was right, baby,
Baby, you was so right!
And you was right, baby,
You stepped out of a dream
You are too wonderful, to be what you seem
Should there be eyes like yours?
Should there be lips like yours?
Should there be smiles like yours?
Honest and truly
You stepped out of a cloud
I wanna take you away, away from the crowd
And have you all to myself
Alone and apart out of a dream
Safe in my heart
You stepped out of a dream
You are too wonderful, to be what you seem
Should there be eyes like yours?
Should there be lips like yours?
Should there be smiles like yours?
Honest and truly
You stepped out of a cloud
I wanna take you away, away from the crowd
And have you all to myself
Alone and apart out of a dream
Safe in my heart
You stepped out of a cloud
I wanna take you away, away from the crowd
And have you all to myself
Alone and apart out of a dream
Safe in my heart
Out of a dream
You must have been a beautiful baby,
You must have been a wonderful child . . .
When you were only startin' to go to kindergarten
I bet you drove the little girls wild!
An' when it came to winning blue ribbons,
You must have shown the other kids how . . .
I can see the judge's eyes as they handed you the prize
I bet you made the cutest bow!
Oh!, You must have been a beautiful baby,
'Cause baby look at you now
The more I see you,
The more I want you
Somehow this feeling
Just grows and grows
With every sigh
I become more mad about you
More lost than I think and so it goes
Can you imagine how much I love you?
The more I see you as years go by
I know the only one for me can only be you
My arms won't free you, my heart won't try

Each time I look at you
Is like the first time
Each time you're near me
The thrill is new
And there is nothing
That I wouldn't do for
You deserve sixteen lackeys
Waitin' on your night and day
And thirty two hands wavin' fans
Just to brush the flies away
You deserve persian maidens
just to stand and peel your grapes
And dressed in pearls harem girls
in half a dozen sizes and shapes
If i had the riches of Sumatra
I will give you all i own
You deserve a queen like Kleopatra
to come along and share your throne
But you can that
I will love you
Love you to the end degree
And what you deserve just can't compare
With the love gonna geetin' from me
You deserve ???? barges
just to float you down the Nile
And when you blue you will have a few jesters
just to make yoou smile
If i had the riches of Sumatra
I will give you all i own
You deserve a queen like Kleopatra

You came a long way from St. Louis, you climbed the ladder of success,
I've seen the town and country cars that were parked out in front of your fancy address.
You came a long way from St. Louis, you broke a lotta hearts between,
I've seen a gang of gloomy gals who were doing alright till you came on the scene.
You came here from the middle west, and certainly impressed the population hereabouts.
Well, baby, I got news for you, I'm from Missouri too.
So natcherly I got my doubts, you got `em dropping by the wayside,
A feeling I ain't gonna know.
Sweet one, fairer than the flowers
Never will I meet one sweeter than you
Would you turn away or could you
Really learn to care if I ever dare
To say I love you
If the nightingales could sing like you
They'd sing much sweeter than they do
For you brought a new kind of love to me
If the sandman brought me dreams of you
I'd want to sleep my whole life through
For you brought a new kind of love to me
I know that I'm the slave, you're the queen
But still you can understand
That underneath it all you're a maid
And I am only a man
I would work and slave the whole day through
If I could hurry home to you
You always hurt the one you love
The one you shouldn't hurt at all
You always take the sweetest rose
And crush it till the petals fall
You always break the kindest heart
With a hasty word you can't recall
So If I broke your heart last night,
Winter Weather
I love the winter weather
Because the two of us can get together
There's nothing sweeter and finer
When it's nice and cold, I can hold
Baby closer to me
Collecting all the kisses that are due me
I love the winter weather
Because I've got my love to keep me warm
I love the winter weather
So the two of us can get together
There's nothing sweeter and finer
When it's nice and cold, I can hold
Baby closer to me
Collecting little kisses that are due me
I love the winter weather
I remember dancing to the velvet summer nights
Stars that softly flickered through a thousand colored lights
Sitting patiently until the sun began to rise
When morning turned our laughter to good byes
(Refrain)
Where did they go, all the good times
And the flowers and the wine
The young men who held me
All the lovers who were mine
Where did they go, all the sweet years
Filled with laughter ev'ry day
When time went on forever
Oh, when did they slip away
Driving through the midnight streets in gently falling rain
A man might offer everything except, of course, his name
Leaning close he'd whisper how his love would never die
Till once again the morning meant goodbye
(Refrain)
Now it's time to light another candle on the cake
Join me in a glass of wine, if just for old time's sake
We'll drink to all our wishes now, wherever they may be
If one or two come true just think of me
Sometimes you think you've lived before all that you live today
Things you do come back to you as if they knew the way
Oh, the tricks your mind can play
It seems we stood and talked like this before
We looked at each other in the same way then
But I can't remember where or when
The clothes you're wearing are the close you wore
The smile you are smiling you were smiling then
But I can't remember where or when
Some things that happened for the first time
They call me coquette and mademoiselle
And I must admit I like it quite well
It's something to be the darling of all
Le grande femme fatale
The Belle of the Ball
There's nothing as gay as life in 'Paree'
There's no other person I'd rather be
I like what I do I like what I see.
But where is the schoolgirl that used to be me?
You'll see me at ... and Spain
I follow the sun by boat or by plane
It's any old millionaire in a storm
For I've got my mink to keep my heart warm
And sometimes I drink too much with the crowd
And sometimes I laugh a little too loud
My head may be aching bit it's unbowed
And sometimes I see it all through a cloud.
Ah, the apple tree.
And the hive of bees.
Where we once got stung
Summers at Bordeaux
Rowing the bateau
Where the willow hung
Just a dream ago
If he told me that I should steal,
I guess I would, the way I feel,
For this is one thing I know is real,
What more can a woman do?
And if he told me that I should lie,
I guess at least I'd have to try!
'Cause it's for him I live or die,
What more can a woman do?
It's just another story
Of Jim or Bill or Joe,
But when you really love a man,
You've gotta let him know!
If he told me that I should leave,
That's only one thing I can't conceive,
I'd rather give and not receive,
What more can a woman do?
If he told me that I should leave,
That's only one thing I can't conceive,
I'd rather give and not receive,
What more can a woman do?
Kiss today goodbye
The sweetness and the sorrow
Wish me luck, the same to you
But I can't regret
What I did for love, what I did for love
Look, my eyes are dry
The gift was ours to borrow
It's as if we always knew
And I won't forget what I did for love
What I did for love
Gone
Love is never gone
As we travel on
Love's what we'll remember
Kiss today goodbye
And point me toward tomorrow
We did what we had to do
Won't forget, can't regret
What I did for love
What I did for love
What I did for
Love
Love is never gone
As we travel on
Love's what we'll remember
Kiss today goodbye
And point me toward tomorrow
Point me toward tomorrow
We did what we had to do
Won't forget, can't regret
What I did for love what I did for love
I want to see your face in every kind of light
In fields of dawn and forests of the night
And when you stand before the candles on a cake
Oh, let me be the one to hear the silent wish you make
What are you doing the rest of your life?
North and South and East and West of your life
I have only one request of your life
That you spend it all with me
All the seasons and the times of your days
All the nickels and the dimes of your days
Let the reasons and the rhymes of your days
All begin and end with me
I want to see your face in every kind of light
In the fields of dawn and the forests of the night
And when you stand before the candles on a cake
Oh, let me be the one to hear the silent wish you make
Those tomorrows waiting deep in your eyes
In the world of love that you keep in your eyes
I'll awaken what's asleep in your eyes
It may take a kiss or two
Through all of my life
Summer, Winter, Spring, and Fall of my life
All I ever will recall of my life
Cold, no I won't believe your heart is cold
Maybe slow to warm on a long, lonely night
Let someone start believing in you
Let her hold out her hand
Let her touch you and watch what happens
One someone who can look in your eyes
And see into your heart
Let her find you and watch what happens
Cold, no, I won't believe your heart is cold
Maybe just afraid to be broken again
Let someone with a deep love to give
Give that deep love to you
And what magic you'll see
Let someone give her heart
Unforgettable, that's what you are
Unforgettable though near or far
Like a song of love that clings to me
How the thought of you does things to me
Never before has someone been more
Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Thinks that I am unforgettable too
No never before
has someone been more ooh
Unforgettable in every way
And forever more, that's how you'll stay
That's why, darling, it's incredible
That someone so unforgettable
Up a lazy river by the old mill run
Lazy river in the noon day sun
Linger awhile in the shade of a tree
Throw away your troubles
Dream with me
Up a lazy river where the robin's song
Wakes the mornin'
We'll roll along
May be blue skies 'bove
Everyone's in love
Up a lazy river
How happy we'll be
Up a lazy river with me
Up a lazy river by the old mill run
That lazy lazy river in the noon day sun
You can linger for awhile in the shade of a tree
Throw away your troubles baby
Dream a dream of me
Up a lazy river where the robin's song
Wakes a brand new mornin'
Where we can roll along
There may be blue skies up above
But as long as we're in love
Yeah we'll be up a lazy river
How happy we could be
If you're feeling fancy free,
Come wander through the world with me,
And any place we chance to be
Will be our rendezvous.
Two for the road, we'll travel down the years,
Collecting precious memories,
Selecting souvenirs and living life
the way we please.
*In summertime the sun will shine,
In winter we'll drink summer wine,
And every day that you are mine
Will be a lovely day.
As long as love still wears a smile,
I know that we'll be two for the road,
And that's a long, long, while.
In summertime the sun will shine,
In winter we'll drink summer wine,
And every day that you are mine
Will be a lovely day.
As long as love still wears a smile,
I know that we'll be two for the road,
Too late now to forget your smile
The way we cling when we danced awhile
Too late now to forget and go on to someone new
Too late now to forget your voice
The way one word makes my heart rejoice
Too late now to imagine myself away from you
All the things we've done together
I relive when we're apart
All the tender fun together
Stays on in my heart
How could I ever close the door
And be the same as I was before?
Darling, no, no I can't anymore
It's too late now
[Instrumental break]
All the things we have done together
I relive when we're apart
All the tender fun together
Stays on in my heart
How could I ever close the door
And be the same as I was before?
Darling, no, no I can't anymore
It's too late now
Those eyes that smile
My type my style
Be wise be smart
Behave my heart
Don't upset your cart
When he's so close
Be soft be sweet
But be discreet
Don't go off your feet
He's so close for comfort
Too close too close for comfort
Please not again
Too close too close to know
Just when to say "When"
Be firm be fair
Be sure beware
On your guard take care
While there's such temptation
One thing leads to another
Too late to run for cover
He's much too close for comfort now
Be wise be smart
Take care beware
Be soft be sweet
Be nice discreet
Be calm be cool
Don't be a fool
You'll learn in school
Oh it's such temptation
One thing leads to another
Too late to run for cover
Things are swingin',
Birds are singin',
And just what do you think those bells are doin' but ringin'?
'Cause they have to ring to make this whole thing rhyme,
And you know that things are swingin' all the time.
If the news is
What the blues is,
Then we'd better just practice up on our ones and twoses,
'Cause where love is you can always find a rhyme,
And where love is, things are swingin' all the time.
It's as simple as
As a dimple,
Just remember that
You can find some brand new swingin' ideas
Underneath your hat!
So keep countin',
Keep it mountin',
Till you think it must be Ponce de Leon's fountain!
Yes, the fountain of youth, for those who know the score,
Means that things will keep on swingin' for evermore.
Like an ocean
That's in motion,
Like the wind that's blowin' the boat right in to shore,
It's the livin'est thing to live and breathe
And keep on laughin' up your sleeve;
Things are swingin' and they'll keep swingin' some more.
Yes, things are swingin' and they'll keep swingin' some more,
There's a small hotel
With a wishing well
I wish that we were there together
There's a bridal suite
One room bright and neat
Complete for us to share together
Looking through the window
You can see that distant steeple
Not a sign of people -- who wants people?
When the steeple bell says,
"Good night, sleep well,"
We'll thank the small hotel together
And when the steeple bell says,
"Good night, sleep well,"
There'll be a change in the weather;
And a change in the sea,
From now on there'll be a change in me;
My walk will be diff'rent, my talk and my name -
Nothin' about me gonna be the same.
I'm gonna change my way of livin',
And if that ain't enough,
I'm gonna change the way I strut my stuff.
Nobody wants you when you're old and gray -
There'll be some changes made today,
The sweetest sounds Ill ever hear
Are still inside my head
The kindest words Ill ever know, are waiting to be said
The most entrancing sight of all, is yet for me to see
And the dearest love in all the world
Is waiting somewhere for me
Someday, when I'm awfully low
And the world is cold
I will feel a glow just thinking of you
And the way you look tonight
Yes, you're lovely
With your smile so warm, and your cheek so soft
There is nothing for me but to love you
Just the way you look tonight
With each word your tenderness grows
Tearing my fear apart
And that smile that wrinkles your nose
Touches my foolish heart
Lovely, never, never change
Keep that breathless charm
Won't you please arrange it, 'cause I love you
Just the way you look tonight
Chicks and ducks and geese better scurry
When I take you out in the surrey
When I take you out in the surrey with the fringe on top
Watch that fringe an' see how it flutters
When I drive them high-steppin' strutters
Nosy pokes will peak through their shutters and their eyes will pop!
The wheels are yellow, the upholstery's brown
The dashboard's genuine leather.
With eisenglass curtains you can roll right down
In case there's a change in the weather
Two bright side-lights winkin' and blinkin'
Ain't no finer rig I'm a thinkin'
You can keep yer rig if yer thinkin' that I'd keer to swap
Fer that shiny little surry with the fringe on the top
The wheels are yellow, the upholstery's brown
The dashboard's genuine leather.
With eisenglass curtains you can roll right down
In case there's a change in the weather
Two bright side-lights winkin' and blinkin'
Ain't no finer rig I'm a thinkin'
You can keep yer rig if yer thinkin' that I'd keer to swap
We are Siamese if you please
We are Siamese if you don't please
We are former residents of Siam
There are no finer cat than I am
Do you see what I see with my eyes?
People have been baking up some pies
Peeping jumping up upon their window
Though delicious spice we could get into
Who is that who is living in that wire house
It must be a bird because it's not a mouse
If we're sneakin' up upon it carefully
There will be some bird for you and some for me
Do you seeing that thing swimming round and round?
Maybe we could reaching in and make it drown
If we're sneakin' up upon it carefully
the shadow of yur smile when you are gone
will color all y reams and light the dawn
look into my eyes, my love, and see
all the lovely things are to me
our wistful little star was far too high
a teardrope kissed your lips & so di i
now when i remember spring
all the joy that love can bring
i will be remembeing
That old master painter from the faraway hills painted the violets and the daffodills
He put the purple in the twilight haze, then did a rainbow for the rainy days
Dreamed up the murals on the blue summer skies, painted the devil in my darlin's eyes
Captured the dreamer with a thousand thrills
The old master painter from the faraway hills
Then came his masterpiece and when he was through
He smiled down from heaven and he gave me you
What a beautiful job on that wonderful day
That old master painter from the hills far away
The party's over
It's time to call it a day
They've burst your pretty balloon
And taken the moon away
It's time to wind up the masquerade
Just make your mind up the piper must be paid
The party's over
The candles flicker and dim
You danced and dreamed through the night
It seemed to be right just being with him
Now you must wake up, all dreams must end
Take off your makeup, the party's over
It's all over, my friend
The party's over
It's time to call it a day
Now you must wake up, all dreams must end
Take off your makeup, the party's over
It's all over, my friend
Frosted windowpanes
Candles gleaming inside
Painted candy canes on the tree
Santa's on his way
He's filled his sleigh with things
Things for you and me
It's that time of year
When the world falls in love
Ev'ry song you hear seems to say
Merry Christmas
May your New Year dreams come true
And this song of mine
In three-quarter time
Wishes you and yours
Out of the tree of life, I just picked me a plum
You came along and everything started to hum
Still its a real good bet, the best is yet to come
The best is yet to come, and wont that be fine
You think youve seen the sun, but you aint seen it shine
Wait till the warm-up is underway
Wait till out lips have met
Wait till you see that sunshine day
You aint seen nothin yet
The best is yet to come, and wont that be fine
The best is yet to come, come the day that your mine
Come the day that your mine
Im gonna teach you to fly
Weve only tasted the wine
Were gonna drain that cup dry
Wait till your charms are right, for the arms to surround
You think youve flown before, but you aint left the ground
Wait till youre locked in my embrace
Wait till I hold you near
Wait till you see that sunshine place
There aint nothin like it here
The best is yet to come, and wont that be fine
That's the way it goes
No one ever knows
Just like that, it only took a minute
And I belong to you
You can never tell
That's how fast I fell
I just thought that there was nothing in it
But that is far from true
Now I thought that I was clever
You couldn't take me by surprise
But I found I'd be in love forever
The moment I looked in your eyes
That's the way it goes
No one ever knows
Here's my heart and you deserve to win it
I can only give you love that lasts forever
And a promise to be near each time you call,
And the only heart I own
For you and you alone,
That's all, that's all.
I can only give you country walks in springtime
And a hand to hold when leaves begin to fall,
And a love whose burning light
Will warm the winter night,
That's all, that's all.
There are those, I am sure, that have told you
They would give you the world for a toy.
All I have are these arms to enfold you
And a love time can never destroy
If you're wondering what I'm asking in return, dear,
You'll be glad to know that my demands are small.
Say it's me that you'll adore
For now and ever more,
I was an icky couldn't get in the groove
Till this old band began to move
Ree ree fah fah bye bye bye
That did it Marie.
The heat was rising to a hundred and five
When all the cats gave out the jive
Ree ree fah fah bye bye bye
That did it Marie.
Dig that sax you jumpin jacks
Does that eighty-eighter send ya
Jump jump jump it to that trumpet
Satch is gonna blow a bunch of riffs
They called me squarey when I walked in at eight
By twelve o'clock they called me gate
Ree ree fah fah bye bye bye
That did it Marie.
Note: An "icky" is someone who can't dance.
A "gate" (like a swinging gate) is someone who "swings" (dances).
The chorus (ree ree fah fah bye bye bye) is just a nonsense line,
Did you say I've got a lot to learn?
Well babe, don't think I'm trying not to learn
Since this is the perfect spot to learn
Go on, teach me tonight
Starting with the ABC of it
Right down to the XYZ of it
Help me solve the mystery of it
Go on, teach me tonight
The sky's a blackboard high above you
If a shooting star goes by
I'll use that star to write "I love you"
A thousand times across the sky
One thing isn't very clear, my love
Should the teacher stand so near, my love?
Graduation's almost here, my love
Teach me tonight
I'll use that star to write "I love you"
A thousand times across the sky
One thing isn't very clear, my love
Should the teacher stand so near, my love?
Graduation's almost here, my love
Oh oh teach me...
Oh oh
Talk to me baby tell me lies
Tell me lies as sweet as apple pies
And if your lips have never told a fib
You might adlib with your eyes
Ooh, tell me I'm marvelous, exaggerate
Prevaricate if you must just
Talk to me baby soft and low
And then if you decide it's really so
Swear you'll be mine forever otherwise
Just talk to me and tell me lies
Say that we're helpless in the hands of fate
Prevaricate if you must just
Talk to me baby soft and low
And then if you decide it's really so
Then swear you'll be mine forever otherwise
Ah, just talk to me and tell me lies, lies, lies, lies
A great big beautiful wonderful
Beautiful lies, lies, lies, lies
Here I go again
I hear those trumpets blow again
All aglow again
Taking a chance on love
Here I slide again
About to take that ride again
Starry eyed again
Taking a chance on love
I thought that cards were a frame-up
I never would try
Now I'm taking that game up
And the ace of hearts is high
Things are mending now
I see a rainbow blending now
We'll have a happy ending now
Taking a chance on love
Here I slip again
About to take that trip again
I got that grip again
Taking a chance on love
Now I prove again
That I can make life move again
I'm in a groove again
Taking a chance on love
I walk around with a horseshoe
In clover I lie
And brother rabbit of course you
Better kiss your foot good-bye
On that ball again
I'm riding for a fall again
I'm gonna give my all again
Strangers in the night exchanging glances
Wondring in the night
What were the chances wed be sharing love
Before the night was through.
Something in your eyes was so inviting,
Something in you smile was so exciting,
Something in my heart,
Told me I must have you.
Strangers in the night, two lonely people
We were strangers in the night
Up to the moment
When we said our first hello.
Little did we know
Love was just a glance away,
A warm embracing dance away and -
Ever since that night weve been together.
Lovers at first sight, in love forever.
It turned out so right,
I say I'll move the mountains
And I'll move the mountains
If he wants them out of the way
Crazy he calls me
Sure, I'm crazy
Crazy in love, I say
I say I'll go through fire
And I'll go through fire
As he wants it, so it will be
Crazy he calls me
Sure, I'm crazy
Crazy in love, you see
Like the wind that shakes the bough
He moves me with a smile
The difficult I'll do right now
The impossible will take a little while
I say I'll care forever
And I mean forever
If I have to hold up the sky
Crazy he calls me
Sure, I'm crazy
