There is also a Tourist Information Office. For those interested in history, there is an ancient church built into the mountain and castle ruins with panoramic mountain views. The important Romito Caves are located nearby with its graffiti and relics. It is believed that the caves were occupied from 16,800 BC to 4470 BC. The road from the motorway to Papasidero to Scalea is stunning, passing between forest covered mountains. This is a good road with crash barriers and walls keeping drivers safe.
