Shallow Hal is a 2001 romantic comedy film starring Gwyneth Paltrow, Jack Black, and Jason Alexander. It was directed by the Farrelly brothers and filmed in and around Charlotte, North Carolina as well as Sterling and Princeton, Massachusetts at Wachusett Mountain.
Hal Larson (Jack Black) is a superficial man whose fixation on the physical beauty of women gets in the way of seeing them for their inner beauty. Hal and his equally shallow friend, Mauricio Wilson (Jason Alexander), spend their nights obnoxiously hitting on beautiful women at nightclubs.
By a twist of fate, Hal becomes trapped in an elevator with famous American life coach Tony Robbins, who after talking with Hal, hypnotizes him into only seeing physical manifestations of a person's inner beauty. Hal is unaware he's been hypnotized, and later meets and is smitten by Rosemary Shanahan (Gwyneth Paltrow), the daughter of Steve Shanahan (Joe Viterelli), the President of Hal's company. Rosemary is very fat but because of her kind and generous personality, she appears to Hal as slender and beautiful. Used to being overlooked by men due to her appearance, Rosemary initially interprets Hal’s interest in her as mocking, but begins to date Hal when she realizes his feelings for her are authentic.
Thomas Jacob "Jack" Black (born August 28, 1969) is an American comedian, actor and musician. He makes up one half of the comedy and satirical rock duo Tenacious D. The group has three albums as well as a television series and a film. His acting career is extensive, starring primarily as bumbling, cocky, but internally self-conscious outsiders in comedy films. He was a member of the Frat Pack, a group of comedians who have appeared together in several Hollywood films, and has been nominated for a Golden Globe award. He has also won an MTV Movie Award, and a Nickelodeon Kids Choice Award as well as hosting the 2006, 2008, and 2011 Kids Choice Awards.
Black was born in Santa Monica, California, the son of two satellite engineers, Judith (née Cohen), who worked on the Hubble Space Telescope, and Thomas William Black. His mother is Jewish and his father converted to Judaism (Black attended Hebrew school). On The Tonight Show, he said his surname may have come from the occupational name Blacksmith. Black's parents divorced when he was 10; Black moved to Culver City with his father and frequently visited his mother’s home. As a child, Black appeared in a commercial for the Activision game Pitfall! in 1982, which was later shown during an appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live and again on The Tonight Show with Conan O' Brien. When Black entered high school, his parents enrolled him at the Poseidon School, a private secondary school engineered specifically for students struggling in the traditional school system. Black also attended the Crossroads School, where he excelled in drama. He later attended UCLA but dropped out during his sophomore year to pursue a career in entertainment, at which point his father discontinued his financial support.[citation needed] Fellow UCLA alumnus Tim Robbins later cast Black in Bob Roberts. He also had recurring roles on the HBO sketch comedy series Mr. Show.
Darius "Hootie" Rucker (born May 13, 1966) is an American musician. He first gained fame as the lead singer and rhythm guitarist of the rock band Hootie & the Blowfish, which he founded in 1986 at the University of South Carolina along with Mark Bryan, Jim "Soni" Sonefeld and Dean Felber. The band has released five studio albums with him as a member, and charted six top 40 hits on the Billboard Hot 100. Rucker co-wrote the majority of the band's songs with the other three members.
He released a solo R&B album, Back to Then, in 2002 on Hidden Beach Recordings but did not chart any singles from it. Six years later, Rucker signed to Capitol Records Nashville as a country music artist, releasing the album Learn to Live that year. Its first single, "Don't Think I Don't Think About It", made him the first African American to chart a number one on the Hot Country Songs charts since Charley Pride in 1983. It was followed by two more number-one singles, "It Won't Be Like This for Long" and "Alright" and the number three "History in the Making". In 2009, he became the first African American to win the New Artist Award from the Country Music Association, and only the second African American to win any award from the association. A second Capitol album, Charleston, SC 1966, was released on October 12, 2010. The album includes the number-one singles "Come Back Song" and "This".
Rebecka Törnqvist (born 26 April 1964 in Uppsala, Sweden) is a Swedish jazz and pop vocalist.
Her debut album A Night like This was released in 1993 and sold over 100,000 copies. She was nominated for five Swedish Grammys in 1993. This was followed by Good Thing in 1995, which got a platinum record and got her a Swedish Grammy Best Female Pop/Rock Artist of the Year in 1996.
Most of the albums by Rebecka Törnqvist are sung in English, with the exception of Vad Jag Vill (2001). She also appears on the Swedish compilation Jul i folkton (BAM, 2005) in the song Det Är En Ros Utsprungen (III), and on another Swedish compilation Dubbel Trubbel (EMI, 2005) with Resan Hem (together with Eldkvarn) and Vad Tänker Han På.
Rebecka Törnqvist was probably the most important artist in raising the interest in young female jazz vocalists in Sweden in the '90s,[citation needed] though her solo albums weren't pure jazz, but rather pop with heavy jazz influences. Apart from getting a number of followers in this style, she also revitalized the interest for the whole genre.[citation needed] In 1996 she was awarded Ulla Billquist Stipendiet (Swedish).
Brooke Elizabeth Burns (born March 16, 1978) is an American actress and former fashion model. She began her career on the popular TV series Baywatch and Baywatch Hawaii.
Burns was born in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of Brad and Betsy Burns. Burns has two sisters. She was a ballet dancer for twelve years during childhood and started modeling at age fifteen after tearing her anterior cruciate ligament in a skiing accident. At age 16, Burns and her family moved to Europe, where she later lived in Paris, Milan and Munich.
From 1998 to 2001, Burns starred in Baywatch as the character Jessie Owens. Burns starred in North Shore, a prime-time soap opera on Fox that consisted of 21 episodes which ran from June 14, 2004 through January 13, 2005. In 2006, starred in the WB series Pepper Dennis playing Kathy Dinkle.
In 2001, she appeared as Vicki Vale in one of several "Batman" commercials for OnStar, opposite Bruce Thomas's Batman, reprising the role made famous by Kim Basinger in the 1989 Tim Burton-directed Batman film.
Slowly I'm falling more in love with you slowly you're winning a heart that can be true
Now I can't hide my feelings no matter what I do
For slowly I'm falling more in love with you
More and more I need you and want you by my side
More and more I love you as each day passes by
My heart I know you're stealing I hope that you'll be true
For slowly I'm falling more in love with you

Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Walking out quite late one night
Not feeling happy or feeling down
In the dark I stumbled over something on the ground
As I got to my feet
I heard a strange voice singing low
Shout out a song I won't forget
Until my dying day I know
She said
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
When I heard her singing
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
First my impulse was to run
But then the magic caught my ear
An unforgettable refrain
A song for all the year Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Well then I heard her singing
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
In despair I cried out loudly
Begging for her to come out
Suddenly has it began
The sha la song died out
At last I realized who had sung it
Quite amazed I turned to see
The tall trees waving me goodbye
The sha la song and me
They sought me
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
And then I heard her singing
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
Sha, la, la
A strange kind of magic
Call it voodoo
You want the woman
Yes you do
Believe me baby
I know it's true
Come on sugar
Let me give it to you
I want to sha-la-la-la-la-la-la-la
Ooh rightBlack magic woman
You've got a hole
Come on sugar
I'll lose control
I want your body
Not your soul
Come on baby
Take my jelly roll
Hey honey
Want some money
Go find it
I do
Sha la la la, la la la
Oh baby
Sha la la la, la la la
Oh baby
I've been gone so long I know what to do
Oh baby, that I know you don't know
What I've been going through
Oh baby, 'cause you make me happy, baby
So I can say
Sha la la la, la la la
And I love you
Sha la la la, la la la
Thinking of you
I know you can tell what's on my mind
Oh baby, and I've been feeling this way
For such a long time, yea baby
Aw, make me happy baby, aw, make me happy
I wanna say
I'm trying, this feeling
Just won't die, oh
Sha la la la, la la la
Make you cry
It's something that just gets down
In your bones, baby and once I see you I can't leave
Your love alone, ya, heh, baby
Aw, make me happy baby, aw, make me happy baby
Let me sing
Sha la la la, la la la
Oh baby
Sha la la la, la la la
i turned my head away, didn't want to hear what you said,
you hushed in your mind.
i showed up insecure, but i thought you would be showed,
i guess i have lost time
Chorus:
but at the end of my life i found it back on my life and i know that my life was good,
at the end of my life found it back on my life, see i went up to you like a shot, i went up to what i want it, i want up to what i want it, and i've never really got it but it dont matter at all.
i guess it was allowed to ask for these things we've lost, i guess it was just a dream. And time changes many things but my heart is still the things for you i dont know why...
(chorus)
I thought i spent my last days holding, dont care, and now out of my senses lying there on the floor
(chorus)
everything's a lost thing...i went up to what i wanted, i went up to what i wanted and i risked dont really matter.. it dont matter at all...
Slowly I'm falling more in love with you
Slowly you're winning a heart that can be true
Now, I can't hide my feelings, no matter what I do
For slowly I'm falling more in love with you
More and more I need you and want you by my side
More and more I love you as each day passes by
My heart, I know you're stealing, I hope that you'll be true
For slowly I'm falling more in love with you
Slowly I'm falling more in love with you
Slowly you're winning a heart that can be true
Now, I can't hide my feelings no matter what I do

Everybody needs a place to live,
Everybody needs a friend,
I've been trying to find a place where maybe we could find some friends,
You know, I know, since we're together we've been moving in similar lines,
Conversation is a killer and maybe it's a friend sometimes,
Sha la la la la la la x 3
La la
Now I don't really need to be decided,
I can bide my time,
Slick sugar sweet candy beats and then some words that rhyme
We seek to keep together, by keeping loving, living apart,
With no mention of a future, hell you could be getting my leap ins???
Sha la la la la la la x 3
La la
Everybody needs a place to live,
Everybody needs a home and a friend,
So I've been trying to find a place where maybe we could find some friends,
You know, I know, since we're together we've been moving in similar lines,
A conversation is a killer and maybe it's a friend,
Sha la la la la la la x 3

So many faces
Passin' me by
Each of them nameless
And hollow inside
Tell me, do you feel the same?
Could we live the dream they all run to?
Believe me, THE chasin' is in vain
The faster you ARE RUNNIN', the longer it will take you to find it
So we should go there
Slowly
Runnin' is a waste of time
The time you need to ease your mind
Slowly
We're gonna let love grow
As long as we take it slow
Everyone out there
Keeps rushin' around
We'll just be floatin'
Safe and sound
Softly fallin' into life,
Nothing's gonna keep us from risin'
Trust me, soon we will ARRIVE
But the faster you ARE RUNNIN', the longer it will take you to find it
So we should go there
Slowly
Runnin' is a waste of time
The time you need to ease your mind
Slowly
We're gonna let love grow
As long as we take it slow
So we should go there
Slowly
Runnin' is a waste of time
The time you need to ease your mind
Slowly
We're gonna let love grow
As long as we try to
Go there
Slowly
Runnin' is a waste of time
Time you need to ease your mind
Slowly
We're gonna let love grow

Refrain
Si no salta la liebre
a la olla con el gat
con su sofrito y sus cosas buenas, luego pondré velas
cenamos
acot seguido nos amamos
y contamos una a una las estrellas...!
todas ellas
un dos, un dos tres, cuatro cinco seis
siete ocho nueve diez.
tal vez prefiero carne
o no me mojo, o soy de secano.
Hay que tener un corazón
que se te salga del pecho
aunque a veces pareciera
que se te revienta el tórax
si te vas
lloraré como una niña tonta
si te vas de verdad
no me dejes por medio tus cosas
puerta!
y mucha mierda
Tizas de colores
zapatos nuevos
agüita de Mayo
Dónde coño puse el chubasquero?
tizas de colores
zapatos nuevos
no me gasto ni un duro en suelas
desde que ando simpre a dos palmos del suelo
y tarareo
Shala, lalalalala, lalalala.

I remember the day we met, the way you smell, the clothes you wore
Now I'm sure before I saw you, I had no idea of love
For a minute there you had me goin', minutes turned to hours, hours to
days
Next thing I know you're movin' out and now there's nothing left to say
but...
SHA - LA - LA
Why'd ya stay? Why'd ya leave? Why'd ya tease me for three whole years?
I need a moment of clarity to put this all behind me, see...
Now I know, now I know you, now I know you and now you're gone, so...
SHA - LA - LA
Ya got me runnin', ya got me hidin', got me so I dont where to go
Got me tied up, got me twisted, got me broken now I know it shows
Now I know, Now I know you, Now I know you and now you're gone, so...

The fantasy is about power, it is really about control
A powerless loveless outsider, wanting to be in control
To dominate and destroy beauty, put himself in the master's role
The power ends when death sighs, the victor digs a shallow hole
The fear of failure ever-present, he is so afraid to lose
That he never attempts the game, until he's lost the power to choose
A slave to sadistic thoughts, the handcuff and the noose
The loser's only love--control, now he plays the game to lose
He is craving orgasmic power that rape can never supply
It can't be taken, must be given, it evades him when they die
Addiction to power consumes him, he continues to try and try
Fall asleep and hide your dreams...
Shallow hole will make you free, SO...
Hear some voices deep in the ground!
Taste the vermin climbing up into your mouth!
No one's brave enough to stay...
But you would better learn to face your fear!
No one's brave enough to stay...

Leave your gun in a shallow hole...
You're the victim... proof of damn war!
Whom to trust? What else to do?
Viper's tail's - all over you!
Do not fool yourself at once...
The harm that you have done won't disappear!
Do not fool yourself at once...
The harm that you have done won't disappear!
Disappear!
Shallow hole will be your grave...
Do not fear - your body's safe now...
Parasites swim in your vein...
Fuck'em all... stiff feels no pain!
Some'em nerves will disobey!
But you know - you must stay over here!
Some'em nerves will disobey!
But you know - you must stay over here!
Face your fear!
Disappear!

I thought I had no chance
Thought I never find romance
There's an empty space still left in my heart
Then you came alone
Giving lyrics to my song
I'll never be alone in the night
Girl as long as you're there holding me tight
I'm so involved with you
My heart is in your hand
So now you understand
Sha la la
You are the only one I dream of
Sha la la
You are the one that makes me feel love
I know it's a new day
Cause I've never felt this way
You can see it by the smile on my face
There's no reason why
I can't keep you satisfied
You look at me and I look at you
I know automatically what to do
Girl just close your eyes and I'll take you there
Just throw away your cares
Sha la la
You are the only one I dream of
Sha la la
Saw your face, turned away
Never gave a second thought,
never looked at you that way
Searching for, someone else
I didn't hear the fireworks,
we were dancing with ourselves
And then you come close and knock me out, oh
Slowly, slowly, changing me slowly,
Driving with your heart,
Kissing in the dark,
The way you hold me, hold me,
Turn with me slowly,
This is where it starts,
Kissing in the dark.
You're a thorn, in my soul,
That cuts at first,
But now I'm feeling something wonderful,
More fool me, to let you drive,
You can push me all you want,
But I'll fall when I decide.
But then you come close and knock me out, oh.
Slowly, slowly, changing me slowly,
Driving with your heart,
Kissing in the dark,
The way you hold me, hold me,
Turn with me slowly,
This is where it starts,
Kissing in the dark.
It makes me shiver,
That I could have missed you,
It makes me shiver,
That I could have missed you.
Slowly, slowly, changing me slowly,
Driving with your heart,
Kissing in the dark,
The way you hold me, hold me,
Turn with me slowly,
This is where it starts,
You know you're far from home
When free means "nothing left to loose"
And no way back for you to choose
So pardon me but i
Don't know if i can keep this inside
My heart is overjoyed with pride
We can take it slowly
We can take it slowly
But my heart want to love you right now
We can take it slowly
Tenderly and holy
But i don't know how
I am losing control of my body and soul
Here and now
We can take it slowly
We can take it slowly
I just don't know how
I walked a thousand miles
My wishful thinking days were all gone
I thought I'd end up here alone
But, God i was so wrong
It's not too late for love - love me now
You found my heart someway somehow
We can take it slowly
We can take it slowly
But my heart want to love you right now
We can take it slowly
Tenderly and holy
But i don't know how
I am losing control of my body and soul
Here and now
We can take it slowly
We can take it slowly
I just don't know how
I believe
Love is you, love is me
I believe
Love is true, love is free
I believe
There's nothing we can't feel
I believe
This is me, this is you
I believe
This is why love is true
I believe
There's a boy on my mind and he knows I'm thinking of him
All my way through the days and the nights
The stars shine above me
He's been gone for sometimes but I knows I truly love him
And I'm singing a song hoping he'll be back when he hears it
Chorus:
My heart goes sha la la la la
Sha la la in the morning
Oh oh oh sha la la la la
Sha la la in the sunshine
Sha la la la la
Sha la la in the evening
Sha la la la la..sha la la la la just for you
If your love's gone away just like mine. You feel like crying
Sing alone maybe once , may be twice. Let's try it together
Some sweet day no one knows he'll return and you'll be happy.
Shout it sweet in a song.Listen to your heart it is singing
She called me up all excited said she had a date
With him Saturday night and she just can't wait
I thought about his reputation & the things that he's done
I woudn't wish him on anyone
I said to her when you're with him better watch your step
Because I know this boy he's got a pretty bad rep
I only hope he doesn t end up bringing you down
He's been breaking hearts all over town
Slowly you can pick yourself back up
When that situation's got you down again
Slowly you can pick your self back up
Girl you've got to save it for another day
Because you don't need him anyway
It's just a game they play
I know this won't come easy girl
I know that it's hard
And deep down inside it leaves an awful scar
And to say I told you so
Won't help to ease the pain inside you so
Just remember that there's plenty of boys out there
Who could treat you much better
And remember I care
it just won't do to see you hurting so bad
Staring at me now, collecting all the poison and the dark things to say
I could see you running out
you dried up all the options now you don't want to stay
Please don't tell me that no one wants to hear that they were not enough
when I fall for this
Can you pick me up on your way home?
We'll talk about love, it's just about
If everything fell apart, trust me, we will fight that slowly.
All up on the floor that's where you go when you want to feel small
there's a mirror on your door, you pick up all the cracks and dust but you can't see us at all
Please don't tell me that no one wants to hear that they were not enough
when I fight for this
Can you pick me up on your way home?
We'll talk about love, it's just about
If everything fell apart, trust me, we will fight that slowly.
You don't remember laughin so loud
you can't
I can still taste it, I'll never forget where we came from
Please don't tell me that I don't want to hear that I was never enough
when I fight for you
Can you pick me up on your way home?
We'll talk about love, it's just about
The most precious thing in life is the mind
It keeps all the feelings and memories of all kind
Your memory's so strong, there are things you won't
forget
It keeps everything beloved alive
She'd known for a long time she will die
These are the words that she gave me by:
"Follow me slowly... I will be waiting for you."
Her shiny light burned darker, oh, from day to day
But she always smiled and said: "Don't cry for me... just
pray."
Oh my God, she was so strong... Why did you take her away
from me?
I'll never see the sense of that tragedy
