Weifang is a well-known tourist city in China, for being the home to kites. Binhai, Weifang started to hold kiteboard competition seven years ago and has been gradually developing its infrastructure. It is no longer a desolate place, but now a famous seashore resort in the north of China with excellent seashore facilities, e.g. hotels, restaurants and baths. The new beach in Binhai, Weifang receives over fifty thousand tourists every weekend. This game is sponsored by Weifang Binhai Tourism Group. The Group, who runs the hotels and other beach entertainment facilities in Binhai, Weifang, is one of the largest travel groups in the north of China. Now the Group is building a new hotel on the beach near the competition area. Riders will be living in this new hotel during this game. The sponsor has prepared competition facilities in line with international standards for this game. Time for China Weifang Open is September 12th-15th, 2015. Registration date for riders is September 11th. There will be six disciplines: Foil board men, Foil board women, Raceboard men, Raceboard women, TT board men and TT board women. The prizes total to 80,000 USD. Free registration Competition rules and judges: This game will apply IKA rules and be ruled by the international judge team. It takes 7 to 10 days to apply for visa in some areas, so riders please apply for tourist visa from the Chinese embassy as soon as possible. We will provide the hotel reservation form for your visa application, so please send us your passport number via email. Accommodation: Free accommodation will be provided for riders by the sponsor. The hotel is located on the beach, which is about 100 meters away from the competition area. Transport: The most convenient airport to Weifang Binhai is Qingdao International Airport (TAO). Volunteers will be meeting the riders in Qingdao airport on September 10th-11th and there will be free shuttles taking the riders to the hotel. Also, on September 16th, free shuttles will take the riders to Qingdao airport. Riders please send your flight information to info@chinakitesurf.com as soon as possible after registration, so the organizing committee can arrange the shuttles. Location: The competition area is with flat water and clean beach so riders can safely walk on the beach barefoot. Water is deep enough for foil board and race board, we've get it tested and everything goes smoothly. Temperature and wind: Temperature in Weifang is about 25-30°C in September. The apparent temperature is lower if it's cloudy and windy. Riders are suggested to prepare a wet suit. Wind may change from 8 to 25 knots, but the wind won’t be too strong mostly.
