Faithful love abandoned
Search for land we're stranded
Storms are slowly moving in
Feel the sun is setting
No point in regretting
We might make it on our own
Cos' we used to know our way back home
We had a lighthouse
But will we know which way to turn
With all the lights out
I said whos gonna captain us
I said whos gonna captain us
I said whos gonna navigate
Through this hurricane
Sweeping over our fate
You said you'd keep an eye on those rocks
I said I'd keep an eye on those rocks
We said we'd keep an eye on them
But we've broken up again
Think we need a captain
I thought we had it figured
Holding onto triggers
Stand off pointing at our heads
You held your ground forever
But you lost me not so clever
You can drown alone I guess
Cos' we used to know our way back home
We had a lighthouse
But will we know which way to turn
With all the lights out
I said whos gonna captain us
I said whos gonna captain us
I said whos gonna navigate
Through this hurricane
Sweeping over our fate
You said you'd keep an eye on those rocks
I said I'd keep an eye on those rocks
We said we'd keep an eye on them
But we've broken up again
Think we need a captain
I see you sinking over everything we say and do
Sos'in you're confessin' it ain't helpin
Now we falter in the water I reach out to you
Currents come I don't see you swimming
I said whos gonna captain us
I said whos gonna captain us
I said whos gonna navigate
Through this hurricane
Sweeping over our fate
I said whos gonna navigate us
Whos gonna navigate us
I said whos gonna navigate
Through this hurricane
Sweeping over our fate
Now we're breaking up again
Now we're breaking up again
Crazy as I may,
Make my way through this world,
Oh, it's for no one but me to say,
What direction I should turn in now.
Cause I am the captain of this ship,
Wanting eyes and kissing lips.
The same as it was,
And will remain until I'm done and gone.
Strange, but it seems,
There's mutiny brewing inside of me now.
I don't want your pity,
Just the promise that I'll be alright.
Cause I am the captain of this ship,
Curious hands and fingertips.
The same as it was,
And will be until I'm gone.
Oh, I know I'm a dreamer,
Still think it's strange?
I won't be here for long.
Oh, I know that I feel,
Oh, wait and go again, Again.
Oh, look, I'm buried,
Like a cancer eating away inside of me.
I don't want your pity,
Only the promise that I'll be okay now.
But I am the captain of this ship,
Curious hands and fingertips.
The same as it was before here,
Here, back after all.
Why should I be hypnotized,
By the promise of a long life?
Why should I hold hope,
In tiny, tiny dribbles that glide by?
Why should I lean on everything... upon
I won't be here long....
Oh, I know I'm a dreamer,
Still seems a truth.
I won't be long for here.
Oh, it's so, but I think I lay this,
On now your lips.
I'm drowning.
Foreign lands, I set out two years to this day.
Called you up just to hear your voice and relay.
I never saw that your face showed all of the signs,
How could I know in a voice through electric lines?
I won't stray out,
East, west, north or south
Take my word now,
Cower, leap out.
Sit back at home, as a smile on a guilty face.
Receiver's down, drawn the blinds, it's a darkened place.
Across the globe while I'm feeling so reassured,
Your open arms welcome what you've always ignored.
I won't stray out,
East, west, north or south
Take my word now,
Cower, leap out.
I won't stray out,
East, west, north or south
Take my word now,
Cower, leap out.
Going to take these two steps forward,
Then a step behind.
Going to wish you'd never noticed,
I can't leave this behind.
Going to take these two steps forward,
Then a step behind.
Going to wish you'd never noticed,
I can't leave this behind.
They'll always find out.
What a great song!
Life is the moment you've got,
Pray that this moment'll never stop,
Give in to the stuff that you crave,
Losing a world you can never save.
So where are we going tonight?
The taste's coming on, I can never fight,
I always seem to break like a wave,
I'm a kunta-kinte, man I'm a slave.
I never noticed anyone, whoa oh oh oh
We're trying hard to keep it down, whoa oh oh oh
We're doing more than everyone, whoa oh oh oh
But it still comes, this heart keeps beating for me.
This heart keeps beating for me.
Because the day is a wait for the night,
I've got the voices all saying that it's alright,
I always seem to find the domain,
I blink and find I've stayed up all night again.
I never noticed anyone, whoa oh oh oh
We're trying hard to keep it down, whoa oh oh oh
We're doing more than everyone, whoa oh oh oh
But it still comes, this heart keeps beating for me.
This heart keeps beating for me.
I never noticed anyone, whoa oh oh oh
We're trying hard to keep it down, whoa oh oh oh
We're doing more than everyone, whoa oh oh oh
But it still comes, this heart keeps beating for me.
This heart keeps beating for me.
Dark clouds eclipsing light
And you in the atmosphere
To hang like a stalagtite
'Til the chance appears
To move one direction
I tried trading places with you
Arched your back at me
Clearest traces
The clearest traces
And so I watched her follow you
A magnetism
As I stood transfixed
Believing your side of the argument
I'm leaving you to your devices
And I'll help if you need me
But I'm turning round
And you sieze a moment
Trying to get a rise out of me
I see it is critical
And I know it's a pity
And I tried
To forget or to subdue
Accidie
When you give me something to rely on
When you give me something to rely on
Dark clouds eclipsing light
You in the atmosphere
Hang like a stalagtite
'Til the chance appears
To move one direction
I tried trading places with you
Arched your back at me
Clear as traces surely -
You sieze a moment
Trying to get a rise out of me
I see it is critical
And I know it's a pity
And I tried
To forget or to subdue
Accidie
When you give me something to rely on
When you give me something to rely on
So give me something to rely on
Give me something to rely on
Give me something to rely on
Give me something to rely on
Give me something to rely on
A spirit for a smile,
A doubt for a dream,
You're saving my falling,
You're shooting my star.
A spirit for a smile,
A doubt for a dream,
You're saving my falling,
You're shooting my star.
And I don't care,
Whenever you stall, I'll stand there.
Oh, and I don't care.
Whenever you stall, I'll stand there.
Oh, oh.
You're the beat of my heart,
The door to my home,
If I lose my voice,
Then I'm left alone.
You're the way that I can see,
You're the best champagne.
Yes, you cure my loathes
And joy steals my pain.
And I don't care.
Whenever you stall, I'll stand there.
Oh, and I don't care.
Whenever you stall, I'll stand there.
Whenever you stall, I'll stand there.
Built this island out of frustration.
There's no point teaching a girl who can never learn.
And just when I feel like Robinson Crusoe,
My intentions strobe to light, a beacon out in the sea,
I caught your eye and you're staring back at me...
Great minds coming to the same idea...
'Cause when it keeps on whispering in your ear,
Keeps on whispering in your ear,
Keeps on whispering in your ear,
Wait for something and it never appears.
Oh, no,
And I don't care.
Whenever you stall, I'm standing there.
Oh, and I don't care.
Whenever you stall, I'm standing there.
Whenever you stall, I'm standing there.
So why don't I just take your strain until the sun dies,
You're staring at the ocean, not afraid to bring it to life.
We're not afraid to bring it to life.
You're the beat of my heart.
I said oh oh oh oh oh,
You're the beat of my heart.
I said oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
You're the beat of my heart.
Oh, oh oh oh oh oh oh oh,
Suck the iron from my blood
And fashion into a small nail
Bang into your head
For all of things I've said
Now I don't have to try for cool
It's a long while now since we were at school
In every way
The nails will bear our names
Keep an open mind, I know you will
Keep it in time, I know you will
Give a little look to show you care
If you look around it's everywhere
I know what you mean to me
It took a long time just for me to see
My fever is receeding
Now that I have one thing to believe in
Tired shoulders, a borading time
I;ve got your back if I know you've got mine
And we should have known
For all of the seeds we've sown
I feel broken if you feel too
Now the earth is hard, but the seeds will push through
The race has been won
It ends with a starting gun
Keep an open mind, I know you will
Keep it in time, I know you will
Give a little look to show you care
If you look around it's everywhere
I know what you mean to me
It took a long time just for me to see
My fever is receeding
Now that I have one thing to believe in
Keep an open mind, I know you will
Keep it in time, I know you will
Give a little look to show you care
If you look around it's everywhere
I know what you mean to me
It took a long time just for me to see
My fever is receeding
Surely someone will see
All these lines in between?
Surely someone will know
All these lines as they grow?
Palest white fingertips
Into some deeper hole I dip
Anda s the black fades to white
Slows the sun's heavy gentle flight
Couldn't let your broken voice speak
Couldn't let it into your life. Oh, no.
You couldn't let your broken voice speak, oh, no.
Forget it ever entered your life. Oh, no.
Oh, no.
You never let your broken voice speak
Oh, no.
Forget it ever entered your life.
Once I was livin' for no one but me
Caught in the current of some restless sea
The tempest still rages,
Butut now I'm all right
'Cause I found the Captain,
And he showed me the light
He is my Captain, I am his crew
I weigh the anchor, he sails me through
And when we are gathered
On that further shore
The Captain will call me
To walk through that door
Somebody told me I was wastin' my time
They said the Captain was all in my mind
But I don't believe it,
I know they're wrong
And though I still haven't seen him,
I know i will later on
Look away starboard, look away west
He is the harbor that shelters you best
And when the stormy night's faded away
We can sail on, we can sail on,
We can sail on to a brighter new day
He is my captain, I am his crew
I weigh the anchor, he sails me through
And when we are gathered
On that further shore
The captain will call me
Oh the water, oh the water, so clear and blue and free
Thought I heard old big leg lula
Callin me boys, singing come on home
If I can just make it through Jan and Feb
I'll march on thru boys, I'll march on thru
Oh the water, oh the water, so clear and blue and free
I asked the foreman what time of day it was
He was so hard-hearted, he just walked away
I asked the judge what be my crime
He said if I don't hang you I'll give ya 99
If you wanna please your captain
Sink'em low boys, raise'em high
Sink'em low boys, sink'em low boys
sink'em low boys, raise'em high
Hail the Captain, hail his gun
Hail the chiefman and his prodigal son
I've seen him preaching, and I've seen him run
I've read his bible, I don't owe him none
I don't owe him none boys, I don't owe him none
I'll be a witness o the rising sun
If you wanna please your captain
Sink'em low boys, raise'em high
By the harbor
I harbor the strangest memories
Older than I could ever be
Stranded in nostalgia
So tonight I?ll try harder
But it's hard to fix this spotlight on me
In a cast that's taken places
I?m unsure of where I want to be
Stand up, stand up
And stand down
I'll climb El Captain
And jump off to cheers from the crowd
Stand up, stand up
And stand out
And I hope you take your camera
To photograph my tears as they hit the ground
No one even listens
The same way that no one ever laughs
I'm taking the car out of the snow
And wondering where the summer went to circled by your secrets
I'm hoping they don't include me
At least I'm in good company
Because there's no one else around
Except me
Stand up, stand up
And stand out
I'll climb El Captain
Just to watch the world slow itself
Stand up, stand up
And stand out
And I hope you took your camera
Silence makes the loudest sound
It seems far too easy to say the same things
I?ll choose my own way to use my life up
Finally found a new way, say the same things
In imaginary ways, I?ll use my life up
You were looking at pictures in the distance
Hoping to see the future in your pictures
Of the distance, hoping to see
The future looking at pictures in the distance
Hoping to see the future through your pictures
Of the distance hoping to see
The future looking at pictures in the distance
Hoping to see the future in your pictures
Of the distance, hoping to see
The future looking at pictures in the distance
A boy and his guitar
A borrowed coat and tie
No smoking in the house
Radio the bar
Oh the possibility
Of us making history
and I want to stay close
Singing in the round
The taming of the crew
Not a thing to wear
To the only game in town
Let the captain choose the teams
I'm not as worried as I seem
And I want to stay close
So that nobody knows
Oh the possibility
Of us making history
Let the captain choose the teams
I'm not as worried as I seem
And I want to stay close
All the lines are frozen
Turn the world into an ocean
You will be my captain
The system has been broken
All the doors are flying open
You will be my only reason
You will be my getting even
You will be my engine
Be my guilt and my religion
Your estimated velocity
I don’t care I just wanna run away with you
Your rocket ship technology
I don’t care I just wanna run
I've waited Long
Now it's my turn
To make these people respect and learn
To pay attention to my every word
I'll tend the flock o you'll be part of the herd
I've spent my time
I've paid my dues
Maybe someday you'll be in my shoes
But until that day comes 'round
I'll be the pitcher on the pitcher's mound
Calling the shots
Throwing the curves
It's my pleasure to get on your nerves
I love to be Captain of my own team
I've got no shame
I've just got pride
And that's the way you'll treat me dignified
'Cause it's balance that's in my command
Maybe someday you will understand
I will not move
I will not budge
There is no jury only me as the judge
But it's not my job to care
The verdict's in and it's, life isn't fair
Calling the shots
Throwing the curves
It's my pleasure to get on your nerves
Captain, captain, won't you take me round the world with you
Captain, captain, on the love boat I will be the crew
Oh and I'll be with you
I can scent the filthy seas, sulphur in the morning breeze
How are we to find our way? Without your guiding hand I'll stray
Round the mountains made of tyres, bridges stacked like Eiffel towers
Somehow you will navigate, through the maze and out the gate. Away
Health and safety pirates hide, like rag worm just above the tide
for unsuspecting men like me, to nip and trip me as I flee.
Voices call from swollen lungs, to other threats in other tongues
Aliens from other worlds will meet us to exchange a word or two
Captain, captain, won't you take me round the world with you
Captain, captain, on the love boat I will be the crew
Oh and I'll be with you
Somewhere is a far off land, with crystal water, golden sand
And all the trees are full of fruit, light years from the grimy soot
'till you say the final word, at the end of all known worlds
you take my hand and comfort me, now we cross the endless sea
Forever, ever
Life is like an endless sea, I'll make it if I know you're with me
We can take the highest wave with you I am safe
Captain, captain, won't you take me round the world with you
Captain, captain, on the love boat I will be the crew
Captain, are you listening? There's a place far from here
Where the fortune that I'm missing
And a lass calls me dear
There's a tide off my brow
And I believe it's alright now
Tell us what your thinking
Do you plan to stay around?
Cause my heels have been diggin'
Since my feet hit the ground
And a tide off my brow
And I believe it's alright now
Captain, is it over?
Is it time to pack it in?
Cause my lover has been calling
And she will be 'til the end
And a tide off my brow
Bring back summer rain
I'll store it again in my heart
Forever to sever a hole in my head
'Cause I'm seeing red
Bring back summer rain
I'll store it again in my heart
Forever to sever a hole in my life
I'm doing time
But we want the same as everyone else
But we're not the same
But we want the same as everyone else
But we're not the same
So bring back summer rain
I'll store it again in my heart
Forever to sever a hole in my life
'Cause i'm doing time
Yeah bring back summer rain
I'll store it again in my heart
Forever to sever a hole in my head
Cause I'm seeing red
And we want the same as everyone else
But we're not the same
We want the same as everyone else
But we're not the same.
We want the same as everyone else
But we're not the same.
We want the same as everyone else,
Build a life,
In what you witness.
Following the lines,
And drawing from all sides.
And when the dark
Is drawing in at you,
I know you'll be fine -
It's just absence of light.
And howcome sometimes
Hung the patient
Settle out of it?
A catalystic drift takes you from now on nowhere.
Build a life,
And what you witness
Following the lines.
And drawing from all sides.
And when the dark
Is drawing in at you
I know you'll be fine -
It's just absence of light.
Takes you from now on, nowhere.
New life in what you're hiding
It survives, you are arriving now.
Now you keep on.
is it the time?
And when the dark is drawing in at you
I know you'll be fine -
It's just absence of light
Takes you from now on nowhere.
Build a life
In what you witness
Following the lines
And drawing from all sides
And when the dark is drawing in at you
I know you'll be fine -
I don't want it,
I don't want tonight to stop
No more waiting,
no more wishing from the top
Do you hear it,
do you hear the only sound
No more dying,
no more wishing from the ground
It's a glo-o-o-orious town,
it's a glo-orious town
It's a glo-o-o-orious town,
it's a glo-orious town
They don't like it,
they don't like the way you look
Do you care about it
and do you hear the words come out
Cause I don't want it,
no I don't want tonight to stop
No more waiting,
no more wishing from the top
It's a glo-o-o-orious town,
it's a glo-orious town
It's a glo-o-o-orious town,
it's a glo-orious town
And I can feel it in the air
it's better with you around
It's a glo-o-o-orious town,
it's a glo-orious town
It's a glo-o-o-orious town,
it's a glo-orious town
And I can feel it in the air
If I said there was no love lost,
would you turn around?
slip into a vacant bedroom,
start to feel unwound?
around the arches she'll be waiting,
a camera in her hand
if she calls out, will I answer?
will she understand?
I'm over the top with you,
at last,
I'm feeling it all come through,
at last,
at last,
yeah, at last,
mmm, at last,
and when you come by
with that look on,
can I hold the gaze?
and if I come back
from the center,
will you be amazed,
and take a photo,
sentimental,
every time you come,
spend the evening
picking styles off,
trying to understand
I'm over the top with you,
at last,
I'm feeling it all come through,
at last,
at last,
yeah, at last,
mmm, at last,
at last it's feeling
like I found myself,
(yeah, at last)
pick up from last time
and nurse it back to health
you carried a heavy weight,
somewhere under the weight,
Frontline
I want you
Frontline
I want you
Frontline, i wake up in mornings ive tried
Hold out forever, cos you go all night,
Frontline, and i know that i want you,
I want you, and i know that i am sure,
Frontline, every way as you respond,
I want you, every time theres a cure,
Frontline together, i mould ya in hand
Tell me, no secret
And ill be, always there
Frontline, and i know that i want you,
I want you, and i know that i am sure,
Frontline, every way as you respond,
I want you, every time theres a cure,
Frontline, cos your consiounce is frozen,
I want you, and your values are less,
Frontline, everytime its a freewave,
I want you, and every wave is so pure,
I resolved it once, in your life
Then im trying to get the same
I resolved it once, in your life
Then im trying to get the same
Sa-a-ame
Together, together
Same. same
Frontline, and i know that i want you, i want you,
Frontline, and i know that im sure, i want you,
Frontline, everytime its a freewave, i want you,
Frontline, everytime, i want you, its hard to fly
Frontline, i want you,
Shamed lovers as we recover,
Too late for a place in your heart.
Old winters hold the sins in you, opens the door from the start
'Cause we're brothers with one another,
Never be alone or apart,
Old winters hold the sins in you, opens a door from the start
I'm not leaving, no no, I'm not leaving.
Waiting for the dawn to rise and then at least we all can depart,
Strange feeling, we're past believing, a look we've got down to an art.
As hopes shatter, it won't matter, and new ones in every design,
Losing our balance, we're feeling the silence, your doubts always mirroring mine
And as the pain falls out of your heart
It feels like the greatest thing that you've got,
And maybe it's halfway back to home,
But is it a remedy too slow to get you?
To get you home?
To get you - to get you home?
Shamed lovers as we recover,
Too late for a place in your heart.
Old winters hold the sins in you, opens the door from the start
'Cause we're brothers with one another,
Never be alone or apart,
Old winters hold the sins in you, opens a door from the start
And as the pain falls out of your heart
It feels like the greatest thing that you've got,
And maybe it's halfway back to home,
But is it a remedy too slow to get you?
To get you home?
To get you - to get you home?
To get you home.
To get you home.
To get you home.
To get you
There is a layer of clouds between me and you,
that block out the sun,
a thousand ways to break my heart,
but I’m stuck on one.
Shotgun my pleas to heaven,
deep down I know you’re there,
but tonight my heart is heavy.
I really need you here.
No I dont love you no I don't need you I just don't
want anyone else t o have you.
I mutter my problems, you never hear me,
Ends up in arguments and drunken coherence
Some nights it's too much
Words turn to anger
that look in your eyes makes me feel like a stranger
So who is this person laying hands on me
Turn to my friends they say "boy you just can't see"
This is isn't the end, but we both know this should be
the end
stoke the fires and the ambers still glow
when it's so much easier than saying no
this has got to stop now
No I dont love you no I don't need you I just don't
want anyone else to have you.
I mutter my problems, you never hear me,
Ends up in arguments and drunken coherence
Sooner or later names become words
Something seems always missing
co's this is isn't the end, but we both know this
should be the end
stoke the fires and the ambers still glow
when it's so much easier than saying no
this has got to stop now
It's easy to leave you when friends conversations
Ths world is just love/hate
of our own creation
I find peace in music
violence in abundence
I know don't understand me past all around me
I know this has got to stop now
This is isn't the end, but we both know this should be
the end
stoke the fires and the ambers still glow
when it's so much easier than saying no
because then we always turn to the stars
as this circle eases to tear us apart
but I reaslise on hold
with false smile left still feeling the cold
this has got to stop now
Frontline,
I want you.
Frontline,
I want you.
Frontline, I'll wake you in mornings, I've tried.
Hold out forever, 'cause you go all night.
(Frontline, I want you)
And I know that I want you,
And I know that I'm sure.
(Frontline, I want you)
Every way theres a whisper,
Every time there's a cure.
Frontline, together, I'll mould you in hands.
Tell me no secrets, and I'll be always yours.
(Frontline, I want you)
And I know that I want you,
And I know that I'm sure.
(Frontline, I want you)
Every way theres a whisper,
Every time there's a cure.
(Frontline, I want you)
'Cause your conscience is frozen,
And your values missed.
(Frontline, I want you)
Every time it's a free wave,
And every wave is so pure.
All these other ones in your way,
They'e all trying to get the same.
All these other ones in your way,
They'e all trying to get the same.
The same,
To get the, get the, same. The same.
(Frontline, I want you)
And I know that I want you
(Frontline, I want you)
And I know that I'm sure,
(Frontline, I want you)
Every time it's a free wave.
(Frontline, I want you)
Every time is a cure.
(Frontline, I want you)
(Frontline, I want you)
Cure.
