Time keeps on ticking away
Another day in disease
I'm looking for someone special
Crawling on my hands and my knees
Somebody turn the lights on
I can't breathe the air
Won't someone help me find my
Little Clare
I want you to see me when the lights go down
I wish I could be me when the lights go down
I'm running out of time, I'd do anything at all
I want you to see me when the lights go down
I can't stop thinking of you
Always on my mind
I see you in the shadows
All the time
You never talk to me
And you're never there
I'm getting tired of all this
And you don't even care
Twisting and turning
My body is burning
Their position runs deep down inside
No one will listen
They make the incision
Now something inside me has died
Come take Alice now
Look at Alice now
I wrap my arms around you
Protect you from the night
I'll save you from this madness
Make everything alright
Get back, don't come any closer
I'll crush you with all of my might
White men with a needle, a cocktail
My baby's love is called Clare
Serpentine seductress, I can't compare
My baby's love is merciless to me
Wailing like a hussy and laughing drunkenly
And over the rooftops when the stars prickle the skies
London is sleeping and the Mississippi moon shines
I hear them making love
I hear them making love Clare was born in New Orleans
She grew up in the bars of Bourbon Street
Back in the days of Marie Laveau
She learnt the ways of that old voodoo
And over the rooftops when the stars prickle the skies
London is sleeping and the Mississippi moon shines
I hear them making love
I hear them making love
And over the rooftops when the stars prickle the skies
London is sleeping and the Mississippi moon shines
I hear them making love
I hear them making love
I hear them making love
I hear them making love
I hear them making love
I hear them making love
To have something special
Youve gotta do something special
Or be someone special
Today
To get something special
Youve got to wish something special
Or have something special
Inside
One day at a time I'll see it through
I'd be the special one for you
Our love will die cos it's not true
And I just never said I do
One step at a time you'll see it through
I'd be the special one for you
Our love has flown I guess it's flew
Because you never said I do
To have someone special
You gotta do something special
Or be something special
Today
To want something special
You have to go somewhere special
And dream something special
Away
