Lizards are a widespread group of squamate reptiles, with more than 5600 species , ranging across all continents except Antarctica as well as most oceanic island chains. The group, traditionally recognized as the suborder Lacertilia, is defined as all extant members of the Lepidosauria (reptiles with overlapping scales), which are neither sphenodonts (i.e., tuatara) nor snakes – they form an evolutionary grade. While the snakes are recognized as falling phylogenetically within the Toxicofera clade from which they evolved, the Sphenodonts are the sister group to the Squamates, the larger monophyletic group, which includes both the lizards and the snakes.
Lizards typically have feet and external ears, while snakes lack both of these characteristics. However, because they are defined negatively as excluding snakes, lizards have no unique distinguishing characteristic as a group. Lizards and snakes share a movable quadrate bone, distinguishing them from the sphenodonts, which have a more primitive and solid diapsid skull. Many lizards can detach their tails to escape from predators, an act called autotomy, but this ability is not shared by all lizards. Vision, including color vision, is particularly well developed in most lizards, and most communicate with body language or bright colors on their bodies as well as with pheromones.

and then I kissed her
but now I miss her

comeona comeona come on and play
she told me
that she adored me
and then whe scored we
but how she tore me
I'll never ever have another
reptily lover
under my cover
A:Prince Rupert Awakes
Farewell the temple master's bells
His kiosk and his black worm seed
Courtship solely of his word
With Eden guaranteed.
For now Prince Rupert's tears of glass
Make saffron sabbath eyelids bleed
Scar the sacred tablet of wax
On which the Lizards feed.
Wake your reason's hollow vote
Wear your blizzard season coat
Burn a bridge and burn a boat
Stake a Lizard by the throat.
Go Polonius or kneel
The reapers name their harvest dawn
All your tarnished devil's spoons
Will rust beneath our corn.
Now bears Prince Rupert's garden roam
Across his rain tree shaded lawn
Lizard bones become the clay-
And there a Swan is born
Wake your reasons' hollow vote
Wear your blizzard season coat
Burn a bridge and burn a boat
Stake a Lizard by the throat.
Gone soon Piepowder's moss-weed court
Round which upholstered Lizards sold
Visions to their leaden flock
Of rainbows' ends and gold.
Now tales Prince Rupert's peacock brings
Of walls and trumpets thousand fold
Prophets chained for burning masks
Lizard worry wonder where it will go
springing chime and bells can you hear them ringing
wait awhile in your castle there
fly through window morning dream paradise
stories to tell you never heard i know that it takes time
under his shadow tremors a dreary heart
words never heard and those words never said
wait a while in your castle there
fly through window moonrise dream paradise
stories to tell you never heard i know that it takes time
then the writing on the wall said he is only the way
you said it was bad timing but at least we had timing at

Scaling up the walls,
caution on the air,
focus on the kill,
minimize the ground.
Lizard do not fall,
keep this battle fair,
utilize your skill,
whip your tail around.
Skills do not matter, your loyalties prevail.
Nothing can break.
Outside your scales, your destiny is death.
Lizard, breath, fight!
Thank you, we thank you.
You've held your head so high.
Remember Li Ho!

Howdy stranger
When I tell you people to do the lizard
Pull yourself together and take a listen
Take my flask and sip the liquid
Forgive me now for what I might deliver
Look around, all around, look around, all around
Lick your friends, until they start to quiver
I ask myself if to give is richer
Look around, all around, look around, all around
Save yourself from falling down, all around
There's no chance you can be found, underground
Lizard, lizard, lizard
There's a thing we say about the foolish wisher
Just do the dance and become the lizard
Look around, all around, look around, all around
Save yourself from falling down all around
There's no chance you can be found underground
Save yourself from falling down all around
There's no chance you can be found underground
