Ormskirk is a market town in West Lancashire, England, 13 miles (21 km) north of Liverpool, 11 miles (18 km) northwest of St Helens, 9 miles (14 km) southeast of Southport and 18 miles (29 km) southwest of Preston. Ormskirk is famous for its gingerbread.
Ormskirk lies on sloping ground on the side of a ridge, whose highest point is 68 metres (223 ft) above sea-level, at the centre of the West Lancashire Plain, and has been described as a "planned borough", laid out in the 13th century.
Ormskirk is an unparished area, surrounded by the parishes of Bickerstaffe, Aughton, Scarisbrick, Burscough, Lathom and Lathom South.
The town is located in the district of West Lancashire and is the site of the headquarters of West Lancashire Borough Council.
Since Ormskirk does not have a parish council, a voluntary association, Ormskirk Community Partnership, was created in 2009, with the support of the West Lancashire Borough Council, to act as a voice for Ormskirk.

The Affiefilm crew visited the market town of Ormskirk in west Lancashire. We unfortunately came on a day when the market was not on. There was still plenty to see, as I am sure you will find while watching our video. The crew spent a couple of hours on a very cold January day, finding lots of hidden treasures. We hope you enjoy this tour, and maybe, one day, take a tour yourself ! All footage filmed & owned by Affiefilms. Contact us at affiefilms@hotmail.com

A short video created using photographs taken on a walk around Ormskirk, which was organised by Ormskirk and District Family History Society (registered charity no. 1004895) for their monthly meeting in July 2016. The walk included many locations of historic significance to the town, which are featured in the video.
Detectives have released CCTV footage following an arson attack at an address in Ormskirk. Around 12.25am on March 9 2017, a light coloured Vauxhall Astra car pulled up in Grimshaw Lane alongside the Yew Tree Pub. A male passenger left the vehicle, ran across the pub car park and approached the driveway of a property on Yew Tree Road. Petrol was poured over the bonnet of a Volkswagen car and ignited before the male returned to the Vauxhall and made off from the scene. The front of the vehicle was destroyed, with heat from the blaze damaging a Citroen car parked on the driveway. Fire crews attended the scene and the fire was quickly extinguished. The occupants of the property, including two children, were inside the home at the time of the attack. No injuries were reported. Detectiv...

This is an informative video about the township of Ormskirk which is currently home to amongst other things the students of Edge Hill University. The students have received a lot of bad press and received complaints from the Ormskirk community. But are these complaints justified and does everyone hold this opinion? Hopefully this video will help inform a few people as to the actuality of the current situation in Ormskirk and quell a few malicious rumors about the student population. The absolute final vlog for the German leg of the year abroad. Kit takes a look back of some of the things he has done over the last few months whilst travelling home. Also includes the (in my mind) long awaited return of the Eddie Cooney on Chocolate segment. THE EXPLANATION FOR THE SOUTH OF FRANCE DETOUR: At (3:02) there is a series of pictures of me running down the same street in a small town called Figeac. The first picture was taken when I was only 5 years old, the second when 10 and the third when 15. Naturally, my Dad saw the 5 year intervals between which the pictures were being taken and decided it would be nice to update the collection now that I am 20. Although the detour took us MANY miles out of our way, we felt it important to keep the tradition. Since I was due to leave fo...

I studied abroad in Ormskirk, England through my community college; I went to Edge Hill University... No matter where you go I think studying abroad is one of the greatest experiences you can have. This was the first video I ever shot and edited together when I was a newbie to DSLRs and Adobe Premiere. Thankfully I've come a long way! Music: FoolBoyMedia licensed under CC by NC 4.0

This is a video about our friday trip to Southport which is a small town near to sea. I say near because we could see just sand. Then we continued to Liverpool in order to buy some presents and we found a nice place with a wonderful view! | Prázdniny ve Velké Británii SOUTHPORT, LIVERPOOL (7. srpna 2015) Odjeli jsme s Fishem na 9 týdnů do Velké Británie. Pracovat. Cestovat. Poznávat. Učit se. Vše jsme se snažili zachytit na videa. Toto je video o pátečním výletě do Southportu, což je menší město blízko moře. Places to see in ( Burscough - UK ) Burscough is a large village and civil parish within West Lancashire in North West England, to the north of Ormskirk and Skelmersdale. The parish also includes the hamlet of Tarlscough and the Martin Mere Wetland Centre. Burscough developed originally as a small farming village on a low ridge above the West Lancashire Coastal Plain, and has Viking roots – Burh-skogr = fortress in the woods. Of early importance to the village was Burscough Priory, the ruins of which stand to the southwest of the current settlement. The priory formerly housed the tombs of the Earls of Derby, a prominent family in the region, which are now to be found in Ormskirk parish church. With the building of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal and the coming of the railways in the mid-18...
