Solar time is a reckoning of the passage of time based on the Sun's position in the sky. The fundamental unit of solar time is the day. Two types of solar time are apparent solar time (sundial time) and mean solar time (clock time).
Fix a tall pole vertically in the ground; at some instant during any sunny day the shadow points exactly north or south (or disappears, if the sun is directly overhead). That instant is local apparent noon-- 1200 local apparent time. About 24 hours later the shadow will again point north/south, the sun seeming to have covered a 360-degree arc around the earth's axis. When the sun has covered exactly 15 of that 360 degrees (both angles being measured in a plane perpendicular to the earth's axis), local apparent time is 1300 exactly; after 15 more degrees it will be 1400 exactly.
The problem is that in September the sun takes less time (as measured by an accurate clock) to make an apparent revolution than it does in December; nowadays 24 "hours" of solar time can be 21 seconds less or 29 seconds more than 24 hours of clock time. As explained in the Equation of Time article, this annoyance is due to the ellipticity of the Earth's orbit and the fact that the Earth's axis is not perpendicular to the plane of its orbit.
Solar Fields is the stage name of Swedishelectronic music artist Magnus Birgersson. He has released eleven albums, and has also scored all interactive in-game music for the Electronic Arts game Mirror's Edge. His eleventh album, Random Friday, was available for pre-order and was released on the 28th of April, 2012.
Magnus Birgersson was involved in many projects as a teenager, playing drums, various percussion, piano, and keyboards for several bands before launching his own Solar Fields project in 2001 with the album Reflective Frequencies.
His music has been described as electronic ambient, atmospheric, deep, ecstatic, industrial, yet organic.
In 2007 he began composing the in-game score for Mirror's Edge, a first-person action adventure game by Electronic Arts and DICE, released worldwide on 14 November 2008.
The album "Movements" is used as soundtrack for the Indie gameCapsized from the small Canadian studio Alientrap in 2011.

Setup is a breeze and the screen menu is logical enough. I took 15 minutes to read the directions and then install it. It took about 5 minutes to install and another 10 to program (http://goo.gl/pYflT). It's that easy.
The LCD display has 3 backlight settings, Hi, Low, and Off. There is a tiny blue LED on the bottom right of the switch that is on letting you know your lights or whatever you're controlling are on as well.

Watch the solar installation of Supervisor Jeff Stone's photovoltaic system on his home in Temecula, CA, by HelioPower, California's value leader in home solar. The time lapse video captures the installation of his 14 kilowatt (kW) system on a clay roof using 56 Canadian Solar 250 solar panels and two SMA inverters. The installation was financed by the WRCOG HERO program.
Riverside County Supervisor Jeff Stone converted his Temecula home to solar under the nation's largest renewable energy campaign taking place in western Riverside County.
The Western Riverside County of Governments (WRCOG) has established the HERO (Home Energy Renovation Opportunity) program to help homeowners pay for a solar power system (and other home improvement products) with low-interest financing, no money down, and payments tied to the home's property tax, which means they don't have to continue paying if they end up selling their home. The program is available to homeowners in 17 cities and the unincorporated areas of western Riverside County.
"I've been working very closely with WRCOG since the program was beginning to come to fruition," said Supervisor Stone at a February 2012 event on the program. "We talked about the idea of financing solar projects and water efficiency projects through property taxes. I thought what a great program to offer our constituents in the area.'
He explained, "People can, in fact, pay for this infrastructure through their property taxes. And there are really significant advantages for our private property owner or a business to enroll in a program like this."
"I have found that through the WRCOG program, that the process is really simple. We have, locally here, a company called HelioPower. I am very pleased to say that I've had friends that have utilized them and been very happy with their service. They came out, gave me a bid, there was no pressure. I had the opportunity to go out and get other bids. It was probably a very wise thing to do for people. But what I liked about HelioPower was that they were very conscious of the type of roof that we have. We have a tile roof. And many companies would just go out, throw the panels on top of the roof, and you have to deal with tiles cracking and leaks in your homes. Well what they do, they come out, HelioPower, and they strip your tiles off your roof. They treat your roof then, as if it were your existing roof. Then they put the panels on, and then they around the perimeter put the tiles back up so it looks like a solar skylight. So it doesn't look like it is an afterthought on your house. They did it in an area where most people won't even see the power.
And our goal was, in our household, to zero out our energy consumption that can sometimes vary between $700 and $1100 a month. So it was a great experience."

The surface of the sun from October 14th to 30th, 2014, showing sunspot AR 2192, the largest sunspot of the last two solar cycles (22 years). During this time sunspot AR 2191 produced six X-class and four M-class solar flares. The animation shows the sun in the ultraviolet 304 ångström wavelength, and plays at a rate of 52.5 minutes per second. It is composed of more than 17,000 images, 72 GB of data produced by the solar dynamics observatory (http://sdo.gsfc.nasa.gov/). This animation has be rendered in 4K, and resized to the Youtube maximum resolution of 3840×2160. The animation has been rotated 180 degrees so that south is 'up'. The audio is the "heartbeat" of the sun, processed from SOHO HMI data by Alexander G. Kosovichev. Image processing and animation by James Tyrwhitt-Drake.

Solar time
Solar time is a reckoning of the passage of time based on the Sun's position in the sky. The fundamental unit of solar time is the day. Two types of solar time are apparent solar time (sundial time) and mean solar time (clock time).

February 11, 2015 marks five years in space for NASA's Solar Dynamics Observatory, which provides incredibly detailed images of the whole sun 24 hours a day. Capturing an image more than once per second, SDO has provided an unprecedentedly clear picture of how massive explosions on the sun grow and erupt ever since its launch on Feb. 11, 2010. The imagery is also captivating, allowing one to watch the constant ballet of solar material through the sun's atmosphere, the corona.

Solar Time Lapse Installation Video, Jeff Stone HERO, HelioPower
Special music credit to Ken Conway of the HERO Financing Program!
