Niton

Niton is a village on the Isle of Wight, near Ventnor with a thriving population of 1142, supporting two pubs, several churches, a pottery workshop/shop, a pharmacy and 3 local shops including a post office. The post office houses a café which serves as a local meeting place.

Geography

Niton village is split into two halves by a break in the inner cliff large enough to house the main road through Niton. Upper Niton lies in a hollow and is set around a crossroads.

The lower part of the village, below the inner cliff is often known as Niton Undercliff, and was a small fishing hamlet until the 19th Century. This part of Niton flourished in Victorian times due to the popularity of Ventnor as a health resort, and many mansions and holiday cottages were built here.

Mount Cleves House was originally constructed in the late 1700s, and substantially remodelled in the early 1800s. Its residents included a Mr Kirkpatrick who owned the Isle of Wight Bank at the time and the owner of the Mortimer Foundry in Newport.

"Niton (The Reason)" is a single by Swedish DJ and producer, Eric Prydz. It was released by digital download on February 6, 2011 on Ministry of Sound. The music video was uploaded to YouTube on December 9, 2010. On February 13th, 2011, the song entered the UK Singles Chart at number 45.

Critical reception

Robert Copsey of Digital Spy gave the song a positive review stating:

Nobody does elusive DJ/producer better than Eric Prydz. Not only does he take yonks between albums singles, but he also goes by no fewer than nine separate monikers - our favourite being the oh-so macho 'Dukes of Sluca'. However, three years after his hypnotic instrumental hit 'Pjanoo', Prydz is returning under his familiar guise, seemingly eager to regain his place amidst today's Eurodance boffs.

After beginning in jangly electronic fashion, 'Niton' soon becomes a suitably uplifting techno-house rocket powered by a piano riff not too dissimilar to 'Pjanoo's'. Thankfully, the addition of bassy synths, thrilling electronic whooshes and surprisingly thoughtful lyrics ensure that this not only sounds bang-on-trend - but, just as importantly, nothing like a certain Gallic knob-twiddler with a very public affection for party jams.

Fadil El Ghoul (born Breda, 2 April 1986), better known by his stage name R3hab (pronounced "rehab"), is a Dutch DJ and record producer of Moroccan origin. Alongside Afrojack and Chuckie, R3hab is one of the proponents of the modern Dutch house subgenre, although his style and sound at the time were usually darker, somewhat reminiscent of early psytrance or gabber compositions. During the 2012 WMC in Miami, USA, R3hab won the IDMA Best Breakthrough Artist Award.

Musical career

R3hab began his career in late 2007 while producing the track "Mrkrstft" with Hardwell. One of the main influences R3hab has listed is the duo Infected Mushroom, whose music has been on the international scene since 1999.

R3hab has remixed for artists like Rihanna, Lady Gaga, Madonna, LMFAO, Jennifer Lopez, Ciara, Calvin Harris, Kaskade, Far East Movement, Pitbull, David Guetta, Dada Life, Havana Brown and Katy Perry.

His most notable releases to date are "Pump The Party" produced together with Ferruccio Salvo, "The Bottle Song", released on Wall Recordings and "Prutataaa", which was R3hab’s first collaboration with Afrojack.
