Genesis - Merriweather Post Pavilion, Columbia, Maryland, USA, 1978/07/25 ("And Then There Were Three" / "Mirrors" Tour) The filming for the promotional video "Many Too Many" was done at this location, though this song was never played live in concert, they did two concerts at Merriweather during this tour, July 25 & 26 Show memories (unknown source(s)): Mike Rutherford loses his footing and takes a spill onto his back while playing the heavy Shergold doubleneck... it appears nothing serious though, still smiling all the while. During "Say it's alright Joe", the little table lamp prop perched on Tony's keyboard tips over headed for the floor. Phil shows off the most amazing lightning fast reflexes as he (somehow) manages to snag the lamp with one hand nonchalantly before it hits the floor and sets it upright again. It really was an amazing feat to witness, probably one only a drummer could do! 00:00 - Intro 00:27 - Eleventh Earl Of Mar 09:47 - In The Cage 18:26 - Burning Rope 26:52 - Ripples 37:12 - Deep In The Motherlode 44:10 - The Fountain Of Salmacis 54:26 - One For The Vine 1:05:35 - Squonk 1:13:02 - Say It's Alright Joe 1:21:33 - The Lady Lies 1:31:23 - The Cinema Show 1:43:00 - Afterglow 1:48:23 - Follow You Follow Me 1:52:35 - Dance On A Volcano 1:56:53 - Drum Duet 1:58:16 - Los Endos 2:04:34 - I Know What I Like (In Your Wardrobe) Phil Collins Mike Rutherford Tony Banks Daryl Stuermer Chester Thompson ***I claim no rights to this recording, support the band by going to their concerts and buying their official releases

David Bowie ( /ˈboʊ.i/ BOH-ee; born David Robert Jones on 8 January 1947) is an English musician, actor, record producer and arranger. A major figure for over four decades in the world of popular music, Bowie is widely regarded as an innovator, particularly for his work in the 1970s. He is known for his distinctive voice and the intellectual depth and eclecticism of his work.
Bowie first caught the eye and ear of the public in July 1969, when his song "Space Oddity" reached the top five of the UK Singles Chart. After a three-year period of experimentation he re-emerged in 1972 during the glam rock era with the flamboyant, androgynous alter ego Ziggy Stardust, spearheaded by the hit single "Starman" and the album The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders from Mars. Bowie's impact at that time, as described by biographer David Buckley, "challenged the core belief of the rock music of its day" and "created perhaps the biggest cult in popular culture." The relatively short-lived Ziggy persona proved merely one facet of a career marked by continual reinvention, musical innovation and striking visual presentation.
