Waylon Arnold Jennings (pronounced /welən dʒɛnɪŋz/; June 15, 1937 – February 13, 2002) was an American country music singer, songwriter, and musician. Jennings began playing guitar at eight and began performing at twelve on KVOW radio. He formed a band, The Texas Longhorns. Jennings worked as a D.J on KVOW, KDAV, KYTI and KLLL. During the Winter Dance Party Tour, in Clear Lake, Iowa, Holly chartered a plane to arrive to the next venue. Jennings gave up his seat in the plane to J. P. Richardson, who was suffering from a cold. The flight that carried Holly, Richardson and Ritchie Valens crashed, on the day later known as The Day the Music Died. Following the accident, Jennings worked as a D.J in Coolidge, Arizona and Phoenix. He formed a rockabilly club band, The Waylors. He recorded for independent label Trend Records, A&M Records before succeeding with RCA Victor after achieving creative control of his records.

Plot
They Might be Giants chronicles the adventures of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson in modern-day New York City. The fact that Sherlock Holmes is a psychotic paranoid and Dr. Watson is a female psychiatrist fascinated by his case is almost beside the point. Dr. Watson follows Holmes across Manhattan and is, against her better judgment, drawn into the master detective's world of intrigue and danger. This is a sweet, goofy and fairly romantic film that asks the questions "Whose reality is right...and does it really matter?"

When they reach out for each other... they touch every heart... with warmth, charm and laughter!
Justin Playfair: Dear friends, would those of you who know what this is all about please raise your hands? I think if God is dead he laughed himself to death. Because, you see, we live in Eden. Genesis has got it all wrong. We never left the Garden. Look about you. This is paradise. It's hard to find, I, I'll grant you, but it is here. Under our feet, beneath the surface, all around us is everything we want. The earth is shining under the soot. We are all fools. Ha ha. Moriarty has made fools of all of us. But together, you and I, tonight... we'll bring him down.
Justin Playfair: Just keep saying to yourself "I'm adequate."
Dr. Mildred Watson: You're just like Don Quixote. You think that everything is always something else.::Justin Playfair: Well, he had a point. 'Course he carried it a bit too far. He thought that every windmill was a giant. That's insane. But, thinking that they might be, well... All the best minds used to think the world was flat. But what if it isn't? It might be round. And bread mold might be medicine. If we never looked at things and thought of what might be, why we'd all still be out there in the tall grass with the apes.
Justin Playfair: There are no masses in Dodge City, only individuals taking responsibility for their own actions.
Justin Playfair: Watson, your first impression of a detective worker, like it?::Dr. Mildred Watson: No!::Justin Playfair: [chuckles] Good girl! I know how girls are. No means yes.::Dr. Mildred Watson: I haven't been a girl in twenty years, and when I say "no", i mean "no"!
Maud: God bless ya, Barbara Stanwyck!
Mr. Small: Will there be... danger?
Justin Playfair: If there is no Moriarty, then I am not Holmes.
Plot
Rachel arrives in New York from her Amish community intent on becoming a dancer. Unfortunately Billy Minsky's Burlesque is hardly the place for her Dances From The Bible. But the show's comedian Raymond sees a way of wrong-footing the local do-gooders by announcing the new Paris sensation "Mme Fifi" and putting on Rachel's performance as the place is raided. All too complicated, the more so since her father is scouring the town for her and both Raymond and his straight-man Chick are falling for Rachel.

Jacob Schpitendavel: Louis Minsky, are thee father to the Minsky what has the theater?::Louis Minsky: Yes.::Jacob Schpitendavel: If I were thee, I would thrash thy son to within an inch of his life.::Louis Minsky: You are not me, and you may still do it.
Jacob Schpitendavel: I do not know, Louis Minsky, if we pray to the same God.::Louis Minsky: We must. Only a God who could tolerate me, could possibly tolerate you.
Jacob Schpitendavel: Louis Minsky, if you do not now go at once to prevent thy son from bringing my daughter to such ignominy, I shall, as Agnon [?] did, raise the finger of righteousness [raises index finger] to call down the wrath of heaven.::Vance Fowler: My father, an Episcopal vestryman, used this [raises pinkie finger] as the finger of righteousness.::Louis Minsky: Bah! And again, Bah! There is no finger of righteousness. This [raises pinkie and turns it in his ear] is the finger of cleanliness. This [raises ring finger] is the finger of marital bliss [points to wedding band]. This [raises index] is the finger of vengeance. This [levels middle finger toward Fowler, palm downward] is the finger of meddling in other people's lives [pokes Fowler in chest with middle finger]. And this [sticks out thumb] is the finger of transportation. It will get us a taxi to the theater. You speak with the fist of authority, gentlemen, but you do not know your fingers.
Jacob Schpitendavel: Whore! To stand thus so prideful, with thy, thy protuberances. How thou dost shame me.
Rachel: About the protuberances, papa. I think the Lord might feel different from you, since He's the one who gave me them.
Raymond Paine: Ha, ha, ha, ha, you've met a girl. Ah, Chick, my boy, when it comes to girls you have three qualities that are far worse than being short and funny-looking. You have the curse of the three D's: you are decent, devoted and dependable. Good qualities in a dog, disastrous in a man. Women like bastards.::Chick Williams: No wonder they *love* you.::Raymond Paine: Yes, I'm a BFC - Bastard First Class.
Jacob Schpitendavel: I need your help, Louis Minsky. My daughter will not be welcome in my home if she stays the night to dance upon your son's stage. There is a train in 51 minutes. You must tell your son to see she is on it.::Louis Minsky: You see this chair? Tell it to dance. See if it listens. That's how much my Billy listens to me.
Raymond Paine: The Bible?::Raymond Paine: It's a book civilians read on Sundays.
Raymond Paine: The Bible?
Baby doll, where you goin'?
So much to do, so much to see
Baby doll, why you leavin'?
Come upstairs and get high with me
The time iz nigh, for us to fly
Take you where there's no sorry
Time iz right and time iz invisible
If you'll come with me
Shot dead, by you again
You're gettin' closer, girl I'm sensing the end
One more inch, just to the right
You got me hangin', girl
Be back tomorrow night to getcha
I smell a sweet fragrance about you
And I know that you want it too
So if I, I trip and lay one heavy on ya
Please forgive me
You're makin' me want it so
You're makin' me want it so
What I feel inside, I can't deny
You're makin' me want it so
You're makin' me want it so
What I feel inside, I can't deny my love
You know just where I live
I cannot slip you, girl it's useless, I know
Nobody ever touched me before like you did
But you won't do it again, no more
The light upon your face iz takin me, girl
To another time and place
I want to see you so high, little girl
I can't leave you alone
You're makin' me want it so
You're makin' me want it so
What I feel inside, I can't deny
You're makin' me want it so
You're makin' me want it so
What I feel inside, I can't deny

Clyde plays electric bass
Plays it with finesse and grace
Sit on the porch without no shoes
A-picking the bass and singing the blues
Misery loves company
And his old dog sings harmony
Tambourine tied to his tail
You can hear him moan, you can hear him wail
Jody May, she got a dollar
Down the road you can hear her holler
"Get up Clyde, we got something to do
That old dog can sing the blues"
He don't move, he don't flinch
Clyde, he don't move an inch
Just sit on the porch without no shoes
Picking his bass and singing the blues
The silence is deafeningthe moon's face is reddening
the heartache is deadening
the daybreak is threatening
The birds circle over,
dropping feathers,
fluff you up a bed
A train sounds a lonely horn
You hold your ears against it,
now it's gone.
Hold your breath, it won't be long
They'll find out that you won't be moving on
Hot sparks are flying,
metal screeching,
screaming toward the dawn
The passengers strain to see
the gruesome curiosity
of iron and velocity
roaring on with such ferocity
The birds circle over,
dropping feathers,
Just ride with me baby, oh we're speeding on it
This fine with you maybe, we can leave all we got
Okay honey listen don't cry, I'll be the Bonnie and you'll be Clyde
Get the money, don't waste no time, got the gat and I'm clean
He got me in a dangerous state, he got me high like 808
He me on that foul play, roll with us you won't know your fate
Ain't got no problems so he come to a stop
We came from the bottom but we live at the top
Hush now
I can hear them calling
Baby we'll love even when we lose it all
I'll be the bullet in your gun, we can go the hard way
Killers on the run, I'm gon do it all the way
Said uuuh eh eh eh eh eh
Uuuh eh eh eh eh eh
Bullet in your gun, we can do it all the way
If we ain't gotta stop then baby you know the drill
I got a job and boy you know that I will
Hey honey, it's all for you
You give me love so that's what it do
But get it in and you'll get that bill, we're sittin on that mill
He got me in a dangerous state, he got me high like 808
He me on that foul play, roll with us you won't know your fate
Ain't got no problems so he come to a stop
We came from the bottom but we live at the top
Hush now
I can hear them calling
Baby we'll love even when we lose it all
I'll be the bullet in your gun, we can go the hard way
Killers on the run, I'm gon do it all the way
Said uuuh eh eh eh eh eh
Uuuh eh eh eh eh eh
Bullet in your gun, we can do it all the way
Hush now for a little while
Baby we'll love, you're all that I've got
I'll be the bullet in your gun, we can go the hard way
Killers on the run, I'm gon do it all the way
Said uuuh eh eh eh eh eh
Uuuh eh eh eh eh eh
Bullet in your gun, we can do it all the way
I'll be the bullet in your gun
I'll be the bullet in your gun

I really can't stay
But baby it's cold outside
I've got to go 'way
But baby it's cold outside
This evening has been
Been hoping that you'd drop in
So very nice
I'll hold your hands they're cold as ice.
My mother will start to worry
Beautiful what's your hurry?
And father will be pacing the floor
Listen to the fireplace roar
So really I'd better scurry
Beautiful please don't hurry
Well maybe just a half a drink more
Put some records on while I pour.
The neighbors might think
But baby it's bad out there
Say what's in this drink
No cabs to be had out there
I wish I knew how
Your eyes are like starlight now
To break this spell
I'll take your hat your hair looks swell.
I oughta say no no no sir
Mind if I move in closer?
At least I'm gonna say that I tried
What's the sense of hurting my pride
I really can't stay
Oh baby don't hold out
Ah, but it's cold outside
Baby it's cold outside
I simply must go
But baby it's cold outside
The answer is no
But baby it's cold outside
The welcome has been
How lucky that you dropped in
So nice and warm
Look out that window at that storm.
My sister will be suspicious
Don't your lips look delicious
My brother will be there at the door
Waves upon a tropical shore
My maiden aunt's mind is vicious
Gosh your lips are delicious
Well maybe just a cigarette more
Never such a blizzard before.
I've got to get home
But baby you'd freeze out there
Say lend me a comb
It's up to your knees out there
You've really been grand
I thrill when you hold my hand
But don't you see
How can you do this thing to me?
There's bound to be talk tomorrow
Think of my lifelong sorrow
At least there will be plenty implied
If you caught pneumonia and died
I really can't stay
Get over that old doubt,
Ah, but it's cold outside
Where could you be going
When the wind is blowing
And it's cold outside
Baby It's cold, cold outside.
