Amelia Mary Earhart (/ˈɛərhɑrt/AIR-hart; July 24, 1897 – disappeared 1937) was a noted American aviation pioneer and author. Earhart was the first woman to receive the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross, awarded for becoming the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean. She set many other records, wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots. Earhart joined the faculty of the Purdue University aviation department in 1935 as a visiting faculty member to counsel women on careers and help inspire others with her love for aviation. She was also a member of the National Woman's Party, and an early supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment.
During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937 in a Purdue-funded Lockheed Model 10 Electra, Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Fascination with her life, career and disappearance continues to this day.

If you head up to Norway and the exceedingly remote Svalbard Islands, you just might have to tangle with a some wild polar bears. The islands are located in the artic, and teeming with polar bears. Tourist flock here every year to watch these majestic creatures in their natural habitat.
2. Howland Island, USA
Howland Island is situated just north of the equator, in the Pacific Ocean. The island is governed by the United States, and was once exploited for its large stockpiles of guano. These days the uninhabited island is a natural wildlife preserve. Amelia Earhart, the famous and pioneering pilot, should have landed here during one of her around-the-world flight attempts, but she never reached the island.
3.Hashima Island, Japan
Hashima Island could once claim the title of the most densely populated spot on the planet. Despite that fact, the island, which was also famed for its coal mining, is now completely deserted. The thousands of Japanese workers, as well as forced laborers from China and Korean who toiled in the island’s deep mine shafts during WWII, are long gone.
4. Great Blue Hole, Belize
Blue holes are round sinkholes located in the Caribbean Sea. While the Great Blue Hole, located near the Lighthouse Reef off of the coast of Belize, isn’t exactly an island, it still deserves a mention on this list. The circular hole is 480 feet deep and filled with aquatic life and limestone stalactites.
5.The Island of the Dolls, Mexico
The Island of the Dolls, or in Spanish, La Isla de las Munecas, is one heck of a creepy spot. The island, which is fairly close to Mexico City, is overflowing with dolls hanging from trees. Some time in the past, a grieving man by the name of Don Julian, who had lost his entire family, heard a woman screaming in the distance. She was drowning in one of the many local canals.
6. Easter Island, Chile
Easter Island (Rapa Nui) is a small dot way out in the Pacific Ocean. It was discovered by a Dutch captain on Easter Day in 1772, hence the modern name. The island is covered with large statues, known as moia. These massive stone monuments, often up to three stories tall, are famous all over the world.
7. Monuriki Island, Fiji
There are plenty of uninhabited islands in the word. Monuriki wasn’t a particularly special one until it was featured in a Hollywood film. This small Fijian island served as the main shooting location for the film ‘Cast Away,’ staring Tom Hanks.
8. The Floating Islands of Lake Titicaca, Peru
The Floating Islands on Lake Titicaca, in Peru, are entirely manmade. These Islas Flotantes, or floating islands, are woven together out of floating totora reeds, which form enormous mats. The mats are fastened to one another and the bed of the high altitude lake with ropes, to keep the mats from drifting off.
9. North Sentinel Island, Indian (Nominally)
North Sentinel Island is one of the most isolated places on earth, and no, you’ll probably never be able to visit there. The Sentinelese, a hunting-gathering people who resist all attempts at contact from the outside world, inhabit the island, which rests in the Bay of Bengal.
10. Socotra Island, Yemen
During a visit to Socorta Island, you could be forgiven for thinking you’ve landed on an alien world by mistake. This striking island, which is east of the Horn of Arica and administered by Yemen, is host to an amazing amount of unique flora and fauna found nowhere else in the world.

Amelia Earhart Unseen Footage Revealed
Unseen video footage of Amelia Earhart - apparently recorded days before she began her doomed attempt to circumnavigate the globe in 1937 - has been released.
The footage was taken at a small airport in Oakland, California, and had sat on a shelf at the home of John Bresnik - who recorded it - for decades.
His brother, Al, acted as Ms Earhart's personal photographer and took dozens of photographs ahead of the round the world voyage.
The film, Amelia Earhart's Last Photo Shoot, will be released in July by The Paragon Agency, along with an 80-page book which documents a journey that ended tragically short of the finish line when Ms Earhart's

Amelia Earhart Mystery Solved? Missing Plane Fragment Found
The mystery behind Amelia Earhart’s disappearance 77 years ago may have finally been solved after Researchers at The International Group for Historic Aircraft Recovery found a piece of fuselage in the southwestern Pacific that they have connected to her plane using forensic technology. The aircraft vanished during Earhart’s last expedition where she was attempting to circumnavigate the Earth at the equator and her mysterious disappearance has been surrounded in speculation ever since. We look at how the metal fragment is being connected to the aviation pioneer’s plane, in this Lip News clip with Mark Sovel and Elliot Hill.

The film, Amelia Earhart's Last Photo Shoot, will be released in July by The Paragon Agency, along with an 80-page book which documents a journey that ended tragically short of the finish line when Ms Earhart's plane vanished somewhere over the Pacific Ocean on 2 July, 1937.

The group is uninhabited except for a few families on Kanton. The United States unincorporated territories of Baker Island and Howland Island are often considered northerly outliers of the group, in the geographical sense. Howland and Baker are statistically grouped with the United States Minor Outlying Islands, however. The United States previously claimed all the Phoenix Islands under the Guano Islands Act. The Treaty of Tarawa released all American claims to the Phoenix Islands, excluding Baker and Howland.

In the first half, journalist and filmmaker Rich Martini shared revelations about the afterlife, as well as his extensive research uncovering the fate of Amelia Earhart. Known as the first female pilot to fly solo across the Atlantic in 1932, and for breaking various flying records, Earhart was a world famous figure when she disappeared during a flight in 1937 on her way to Howland Island, a tiny island in the Pacific. Through his interviews of various eyewitnesses, Martini concluded that Earhart and her co-pilot Fred Noonan safely landed on sand, but were captured and brought to the island of Saipan where they were imprisoned by the Japanese (who may have suspected they were spies). Just three weeks ago, Martini traveled to Saipan (now an unincorporated territory of the US), and said he filmed an interview with an 86-year-old woman, named Josephine Blanco Akiyama who reported seeing Earhart on the island in 1937. "I found at least 17 new eyewitnesses," Martini added. He believes that Earhart was executed by Japan after the US shelled Saipan in 1942.
Martini has culled much of his information about the afterlife through hypnotic sessions, where sometimes spirit guides come through and proffer details. In one case, a spirit guide described the universe as a sentient mechanism, but that humans lack the physical capacity to comprehend God, though they can experience aspects of God by having an open heart. While the spirits of the deceased have moved into another realm, Martini noted they remain accessible for contact. Martini is the conference chairman of The Afterlife Convention being held in Santa Monica this September, a gathering that will explore the scientific evidence for life after death with various speakers.

Martini is the conference chairman of The Afterlife Convention being held in Santa Monica this September, a gathering that will explore the scientific evidence for life after death with various speakers.
Amelia Mary Earhart (/ˈɛərhɑrt/; July 24, 1897 – disappeared July 2, 1937) was an American aviation pioneer and author.[1][N 1] Earhart was the first female aviator to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.[3][N 2] She received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this record.[5] She set many other records,[2] wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots.[6] Earhart joined the faculty of the Purdue University aviation department in 1935 as a visiting faculty member to counsel women on careers and help inspire others with her love for aviation. 1. Svalbard Island, Norway

Phoenix Islands
Phoenix Islands
The Phoenix Islands are a group of eight atolls and two submerged coral reefs, lying in the central Pacific Ocean east of the Gilbert Islands and west of the Line Islands. They are a part of the Republic of Kiribati. During the late 1930s they became the site of the last attempted colonial expansion of the British Empire through the Phoenix Islands Settlement Scheme. The islands and surrounding areas are home to some 120 species of coral and more than 500 species of fish. On January 28, 2008, the government of Kiribati formally declared the entire Phoenix group and surrounding waters a protected area, making its 410,500 square kilometres (158,500 sq mi) the world's largest marine protected area at the time.

The Afterlife & Amelia Earhart
The Afterlife & Amelia Earhart

Amelia Mary Earhart (/ˈɛərhɑrt/ air-hart; July 24, 1897 -- disappeared 1937) was a noted American aviation pioneer and author.[1][N 1] Earhart was the first aviatrix to fly solo across the Atlantic Ocean.[3] She received the U.S. Distinguished Flying Cross for this record.[4] She set many other records,[2] wrote best-selling books about her flying experiences and was instrumental in the formation of The Ninety-Nines, an organization for female pilots.[5] Earhart joined the faculty of the Purdue University aviation department in 1935 as a visiting faculty member to counsel women on careers and help inspire others with her love for aviation. She was also a member of the National Woman's Party, and an early supporter of the Equal Rights Amendment.[6][7]
During an attempt to make a circumnavigational flight of the globe in 1937 in a Purdue-funded Lockheed Model 10 Electra, in addition, this easter egg is not real . Earhart disappeared over the central Pacific Ocean near Howland Island. Fascination with her life, career and disappearance continues to this day.
