Passion (Kreesha Turner album)

Passion is the first album by the Canadian singer Kreesha Turner. It was released on August 12, 2008, in Canada and was released in early 2009 in the United States.Passion had been available for advanced streaming on MuchMusic.com. a week earlier.Passion was released in the US in early 2009.

In early August, 2008, the album was leaked onto MTV Canada's The Leak on its official website.

Initially, on the back of the album, track 14 was listed as the "Bounce With Me (Rhythm Mix)" but this was an error and the track is actually the "Don't Call Me Baby (Rhythm Mix)". This error on the back cover was corrected on later pressings of the album.

Although Turner originally signed in the US to Virgin Records, a Capitol Music Group label, her first American release will instead be shifted to the Capitol Records imprint, also within the Capitol Music Group umbrella. This will keep a consistency with her Canadian releases under EMI Music Canada which utilize the Capitol Records imprint and are copyrighted by Capitol Records, LLC.

Tortoise heavy assault tank

The Tank, Heavy Assault, Tortoise (A39) was a British heavy assault tank design developed in World War II but never put into mass production. It was developed for the task of clearing heavily fortified areas and as a result favoured armour protection over mobility.

Although heavy, at 78 tons, and not readily transported, it was considered reliable and a good gun platform.

Only a few prototypes of the Tortoise had been produced by the end of the war.

Development

In the early part of 1943, the Allied forces anticipated considerable resistance in the projected future invasion of Europe, with the enemy fighting from heavily fortified positions such as the Siegfried Line. As a result, a new class of vehicles emerged, in the shape of Assault tanks, which placed maximum armour protection at a higher priority than mobility. Initially, work was concentrated on the Excelsior tank (A33), based on the Cromwell tank. There was also a program to upgrade the armour of the Churchill tank. For similar work in the Far East, the Valiant tank (A38), based on the Valentine tank was considered although weight was specified to be as low as possible.

Tortoise (band)

Tortoise is an American post-rock band formed in Chicago, Illinois, United States, in 1990.

Music

Tortoise's almost entirely instrumental music defies easy categorization, and the group gained significant attention from their early career. The members have roots in Chicago's fertile music scene, playing in various indie rock and punk groups. Tortoise was among the first American indie rock bands to incorporate styles closer to Krautrock, dub, minimalist music, electronica and various jazz styles, rather than the standard rock and roll and punk that had dominated indie rock for years.

Some have cited Tortoise as being one of the prime forces behind the development and popularity of the post-rock movement. Others, however, have characterised Tortoise's music as being heavily indebted to progressive rock.
