Georgia i/ˈdʒɔrdʒə/ (Georgian: საქართველო Sakartvelo, IPA: [sɑkʰɑrtʰvɛlɔ] ( listen)) is a sovereign state in the Caucasus region of Eurasia. Located at the crossroads of Western Asia and Eastern Europe, it is bounded to the west by the Black Sea, to the north by Russia, to the south by Turkey and Armenia, and to the southeast by Azerbaijan. The capital of Georgia is Tbilisi. Georgia covers a territory of 69,700 km² and its population is almost 4.7 million. Georgia is a unitary, semi-presidential republic, with the government elected through a representative democracy.
During the classical era independent kingdoms became established in what is now Georgia. The kingdoms of Colchis and Iberia adopted Christianity in the early 4th century. A unified Georgia reached the peak of its political and economic strength during the reign of King David IV and Queen Tamar in the 11th–12th centuries. At the beginning of the 19th century, Georgia was annexed by the Russian Empire. After a brief period of independence following the Russian Revolution of 1917, Georgia was occupied by Soviet Russia in 1921, becoming the Georgian Soviet Socialist Republic and part of the Soviet Union. After independence in 1991, post-communist Georgia suffered from civil unrest and economic crisis for most of the 1990s. This lasted until the Rose Revolution of 2003, after which the new government introduced democratic and economic reforms.

Mona Marshall: [Outraged that the studio has used a double to stand in for her at a premiere:] Thousands of girls think they look like me, and where are they?::Fuzzy Boyle: They're having their faces changed.::Mona Marshall: [to her double:] How dare you go around with a face like mine?::Fuzzy Boyle: Why don't you send your face to Washington and have it copyrighted?::Mona Marshall: It *is* copyrighted. For years, my face has been on the sidewalk, in front of Grauman's Chinese Theatre.::Fuzzy Boyle: Yeah, well why don't you leave it there?
If I'm not over you
By the time
I get to Georgia
Then I guess
I'll be Alabama bound
There was a time when
I'd do anything for you
But this time, baby
I won't turn around
I always wanted
To get married
And I thought
You were the one
But you never
Ever asked me
And I was tired of
Hangin' on
You know a girl
Can only be let down
So many times
Before she runs
And now this
Little bitty town's
Only got room for
One of us, yeah
You always said
I'd never leave
And if I did
I wouldn't go far
So I know
How I must look
With my tank 'a gas
And beat up heart
Well baby
I'm gone for good
You can count on that
Yeah, I'm gonna
Keep headin' west
Till I'm too far gone
To come back, yeah
And if
I'm not over you
By the time
I get to Georgia
Then I guess
I'll be Alabama bound
There was a time when
I'd do anything for you
But this time, baby
Oh I won't turn around
I only got ten miles to go
Before I cross the state line
I can feel my hands shakin'
'Cause they usually turn
The wheel around
About this time
I heard that
Same ol' voice inside
I had to drown it out
So I found me a radio station
Playin' something fast
And I turned it up real loud
And if
I'm not over you
By the time
I get to Georgia
Then I guess
I'll be Alabama bound
There was a time when
I'd do anything for you
But this time, baby
Oh I won't turn around
There was a time when
I'd do anything for you
But this time, baby
Oh I won't turn around
No, I won't turn around
If I'm not over you
By Georgia
Then I'll head to Alabama
Roll on to Mississippi
Or maybe Louisiana
I'll drive all the way
To California
Oh, I won't turn around
No, I won't turn around
No, I won't turn around
No, I won't turn around
(Turn around, turn around)
I won't, I won't turn around
(No)
on slow days
thoughts free to wonder
over to west hurley
and down past ashokan
the reservoir
and georgia waving
from the back of a car
sis holds your hand
she holds it so tightly
she digs in her fingernails
and later that night
she whispers a name
she says it aloud
for the last time
cutting that milkweed
bending down low
in her navy blue dress
I'll never know
which one I resemble the best
Lamps in the windows burnin' bright, over in Santa Fe tonight
Full moon shining down along the border
But the ground is hard and the night is black
Over here by the railroad track
And I wish to the Lord that I was back in Georgia
Blue water in the evening sun,
Calling me when the day is done
Mama mama pray for your son
All of my life I've been told
That the LA streets was paved with gold
Fame and fortune waiting to reward ya
But it didn't take long to understand
California ain't the promised land
But at least a man's a man in Georgia
Blue skys in the mornin' there
And there's green trees and breathin' air
Rockabye in my easy chair
Well the St. Marys River in the Georgia moonlight
Flowing under the Folkston Bridge
The sun comes up through the long leaf pine trees
Over 'round the Kingsland ridge
I may be here but my mind is still
About 90 miles north of Jacksonville
Well I may not make it, it's a long ole road
But mama I've paid all the debts I owe
And if I don't you know they gonna find me tryin'
They took my songs and they took my soul
They made me hard and they made me old
Hell I just been born, but I feel just like I'm dying
Every time my eyes sing that song
I sing for my
Georgia, Georgia
The whole day through
This old sweet song
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Hey, Georgia, oh, yeah, yeah, Georgia
And a song of you
Comes as sweet and clear
As moonlight through the pines
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly, yeah
Still in peaceful dreams I see
On another road, it leads back to you
Hey, Georgia, I say oh, Georgia
No, no, no peace I find girly
Just an old sweet song, God is this song long
Keeps Georgia on my mind
Other arms reach out to me
Other eyes smile tenderly
Still in peaceful dreams I see
Busy road, the road leads back to you now
Oh, Georgia, don't do that, had to know well
No peace I find, won't you hear me now
It's just an old sweet song, I said, oh, I said that
Keeps Georgia on my mind
On my mind, yeah, it won't be so
Keeps Georgia on my mind
You know the little girls that are on my mind
Well
Here we are again
Too good to be friends
Forever, forever, forever
Well
Look at what we've done
Three
Three rolled into one
Together, together, together
How can this be true
We thought that we knew you
Forever, forever, forever
We will watch the morning star
Rising home over Georgia
Dancing in the ruins of the western world
[Hook:]
Georgia, The clay is runnin red
From the blood that done been shed down in
Gergia, Now we weepin to the sound
From the color of the ground down in
[Verse 1: Kno]
Georgia, My state my home
For 17 years learned right from wrong
Cried saline tears when I write these poems
As I made these fears give flight to song
The red clay stains the soles of my shoes
The red clay stained the soul of a fool
My grandparents told me the goal that you choose
When you realize the worlds only open to few
Will measure your worth, tether your hurt
It's that same search that can lead you to church
But if they have the time to hate a whole race
How do ya'll have the time to tel me about my faith?
Do ya'll have time to discuss God's grace
If you're too busy studying the color of a face?
I don't follow man to avoid the disgrace of
The closeminded culprits of southern mistakes
Glass houses built out of empty Coke bottles
Throwing rocks at statues of southern role models
Use to be followed by souls that are hollow
But had to much love to ever get swalloed
By the dark hearted people that threatened my kin
Spit on my friends for the color of their skin
So when I think back to the clay that raised me
I thank God for the strong man it made me
[Verse 2: Natti]
Georgia Lee Andrews, raised a man wearin dad's pants plus her shoes
Never wavered in faith in her lovin embrace
That Garnett Lamar Bush would find a way to be great
Even after plenty meals off juvy hall plates
Calls at prison rates, pushed back release dates
Only to come home to mere months of your smile
While the nigga you married to give me a dad behave foul
Your massive stroke one of luck for him
Kept the house, bought a car and a truck for him
Loved my brother too much to go and orphan him
So his daddy walks this earth the only man I hate
With the bitch he moved in a week after your wake
Sure as Georgia birthed me, in Kentucky my state
Seem empty, without you holding your grandson
Who smiles at your picture, not a tooth in his mouth
So handsome, you'da had him like mile left out
You'da swore I had asthma as my breath came out
Missing you, feeling like the Lord did me bad
But somewhat greater later when he made me dad
Bittersweet symphony simply played in pain
Encored by the tears that I strain to contain
But sometimes I can't help it, sometimes I'm so selfish
Feeling like God don't love you like I do
I'm inconcistant
I'm inconciderate
I'm preying on the unstable
they're gonna fix us with cable televisions
they're full of cruel intentions
and they're coming to get us
Among the ashes of these tragedies
sit in comfort and good company
I'm just waiting for the thief to come for me
My brothers suffer from regret
but don't forget who holds your hands
Among the ashes of these tragedies
I sit in comfort and good company
I'm just waiting for the thief to come for me
break:
I'm exhausted
you curse your children
I can't believe it's coming down to this
I'll sing it out loud
I'll scream it out loud for all to face
This is a song for the gifted
the young
hopeful
This is a song for the end of it
beyond hopeful
Among the ashes of these tragedies
I sit in comfort and good company
I'm just waiting for the thief to come for me
How do you feel about unity?
Georgia take me to the sea where they drown the babies
that nobody can feed,
And in that sick ocean Georgia we'll be born again
Georgia, we'll swim so far in that ocean crammed with
shopping carts,
Georgia's got a tumor in her throat, she grows wild
strawberries on the roof of her overpriced apartment in
soho and I close my eyes but the sleep the sleep
doesn't come to me unless I'm shitfaced drunk. I dream
of traffic.
Georgia, Georgia you know the wedding is tomorrow,
she's a well off girl with rich parents who made a
fortune off of real estate.
It smells like spring is yellow and headphones wail
like widows on designer pillows of Egyptian linen.
We'll I've been here before, where the waterfalls
decompose, and symphonies go blind in the desert,
So grab a microphone put the tape in press record,
Georgia can you hear my heart explode.
Georgia take me to the sea, redesigned by the billion
dollar company. Clean as a brainwashed baby, sugar
sweet user friendly, version 1.2, supernatural blue.
Georgia's collecting broken glass and tires, she's
building an airplane from the lonely hearts of liars.
Split knuckles black bloody sheets and cigarettes from
con-mens teeth, she'll fly around the world on all that
regret.
Georgia I hope the treatment isn't too rough, I hope
your eyes don't go into the fog of the world.
Not everything happens for a reason, I know that it
sounds appealing when you loose something that's not
replaceable.
We'll I've been here before, where the waterfalls
decompose, and symphonies go blind in the desert,
So grab a microphone put the tape in press record,
Georgia
I never knew who you were
All of the faces on this paper tell me everything
Georgia
I wish I knew who you were
If I woke up and you were gone tomorrow how would I
know
There’s only one question
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Georgia
Nikoll Lekaj doesn’t care
And four other people all called Bob Bob Bob Bob want
you out
Georgia
Focus on Daniel Reeve
Cos just like Christopher he can be your Superman
tonight
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Georgia
I never met you, but I think I’m in love
I dont want Georgia to leave! (No, no, no!)
I dont want Georgia to leave! (No, no, no!)
I dont want Georgia to leave! (No, no, no!)
I dont want Georgia to leave! (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
Do you want Georgia to leave? (No, no, no!)
There?s something about the Georgia summer afternoons
When the sun goes down and the air gets cool
And it's home to me, oh, it's home to me
And I've been missing that place too much it seems
Gave up any home just to find my dreams
And it's weighing on me, oh, it's weighing on me
Hey now, it's weighing on me
But I'm only just one second short of calling this my end
If I gave you something different, would you call it the same?
But I'm only just one person, who am I to disagree?
If I gave you simple reasons, would you still be questioning me?
I climbed a mountain simply looking for advice
But all I found were children playing innocent and nice
And everyone was peaceful and everyone polite
No one to whisper dreams, what?s thought to be a part of life
But I?m only just one second short of calling this my end
If I gave you something different, would you call it the same?
But I?m only just one person, who am I to disagree?
If I gave you simple reasons, would you still be questioning me?
I found a poor man once, he was the age of fifty-three
He spoke about the government and the thought of being free
What good does us reason if we fail to see?
I met her down in new orleans
She was hanging out a bit
Having a drink or two
She bought a round, she sat on down
And lit a cigarette and said:
"boy have you got a night ahead of you"
Well maybe i was taken
By the fancy way she walks
Maybe it was the perfume in her hair
Or maybe i just fell for her and the
Southern way she talks:
Talk like she didn't have no cares
She said: "call me georgia, call me a bad, bad girl"
"call me anything in the whole wide world"
"but don't you call me 'baby', cause i ain't your girl"
"just call me georgia and honey i'll rock yer world"
She had a tattooed rose, she ain't afraid to show
Yeah she drinks, she spits, she curses
Drives the wrong way down the one way streets
She keeps a whiskey bottle by her bed
And a pistol in her purse, and she
Can drive a strong man down to his beggin knees
She said: "call me georgia, call me a bad, bad girl"
"call me anything in the whole wide world"
"but don't you call me 'baby', cause i ain't your girl"
"just call me georgia and honey i'll rock yer world"
I see her around sometimes, she's
A hanging out a bit
Having a drink or two (or three, or four)
She starts that walkin' that smooth southern drawl
Lamps in the windows burnin' bright, over in Santa Fe tonight
Full moon shining down along the border
But the gound is hard and the night is black
Over here by the railroad track
And I wish to the Lord that I was back in Georgia
Blue water in the indian sun,
Calling me when the day is done
Mama mama pray for your son
All of my life I've been told
That the LA streets was paved with gold
Fame and fortune waiting to reward ya
But it didn't take long to understand
California ain't the promised land
But at least a man's a man in georgia
Blue skys in the mornin' there
And there's green trees and breathin' air
Rockabye in my easy chair
Well it seems every river in the Georgia moonlight
Flowing up where folks are free
Tthe sun comes up through the lonely pine trees
Over 'round the Kingsland ridge
I maybe here but my mind is still
About 90 miles north of Jacksonville
Well I may not make it, it's a long long road
But mama I've paid all the debts I owe
And if I don't you know they gonna find me tryin'
They took my songs and they took my soul
They made me hard and they made me old
Hell I just been born, but I feel just like I'm dying
(refrain)
I'm so tired
I fall asleep when I speak to you
Tonight
Close my mind
In my dreams I am known by you
Alright
We've been dreaming differently
I said baby that's what you mean to me
Georgia
What's a girl to do?
Georgia
Still in love with you
Love and fear
They should not have been resting here
This year
Feel alright
When we both go our separate ways
Hold tight
We've been dreaming differently
I said baby that's what you mean to me
Georgia
What's a girl to do?
Georgia
Still in love with you
Georgia
What you gonna say?
Wasting all this time away
Georgia
What you gonna say?
I've gotta hold myself
Looking back on everything
Wouldn't change a thing,
No chance, you see,
You were made for me,
Undoubtedly
Look at what we've done
Look at what we've done, baby
Got a special love,
Like in the movies,
Got me writing songs
You know you move me
Caught up in the now
Right here right now
Us right now
This is us
Making memories
Singing melody's
Of longing laughter
Oh, up 'til the middle of the night,
Talking 'bout nothing 'til the morning after.
Oh, this is, this is
This is us.
This is, this is us.
Looking back on all we've done
Growing up in mistakes,
Battles won
Trying out a romance,
And all that fun
We were always swimming fast
Never sleeping, having fun
I'd say that I always knew
I loved you
Like I'd let that go to waste
I'd show you
Anything that I could do
To show you, show you.
This is us
Making memories
Singing melody's
Of longing laughter
Oh, up 'til the middle of the night,
Talking 'bout nothing 'til the morning after.
Oh, this is, this is
This is us.
This is, this is us.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
This is us
Making memories
Singing melody's
Of longing laughter
Oh, up 'til the middle of the night,
Talking 'bout nothing 'til the morning after.
Oh, this is, this is
This is us.
This is, this is us.
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh oh
Georgia, you know that you've been on my mind
Georgia, we've both learned to compromise
I'll be there for you
When everybody's coming unglued
I'll be there for you
I won't say you have to choose
'Cause I dont wanna let you go
And i dont wanna lose you slowly
I just want to let you know
That it's only just a little back and forth lately
... A little back and forth...
Georgia, I'll be chasing you the rest of my life
Georgia, welcome to the roller coaster ride
When I come to you
I know that you'll help me get through
I'll be there for you
We both know we could never choose
'Cause I dont wanna let you go
And i dont wanna lose you slowly
I just want to let you know
That it's only just a little back and forth...
That it's only just a little back and forth lately
You carry it like a heavyweight champ
It's hard to say I can't but I know I can't be right
there standing
'Cause I dont wanna let you go
And i dont wanna lose you slowly
'Cause I just want to let you know
That it's only just a little back and forth lately
I could never let you go
After all that you've been to me
I just want to let you know
That it's just a little back and forth
That it's only just a little back and forth lately
Lately
A little back and forth lately
Well, here we are again, too, too good to be friends
Forever, forever, forever
Well, look at what we've done, three, three worlds into one
Together, together, together
So, how can this be true, we, we thought that me and you
Forever, forever, forever
[...]

Georgia, do you know I want you Isn't it enough to wait the whole night through Georgia, do you know I need you Want to live and breath you my whole life through
To do my heart some good I wrote a song to say "I love you" and I promise not to hurt you or to ever make you blue So hold me tight Isn't it right that we're together and to hang on to forever the whole night through
Georgia, here's a love song Have I done wrong to say what's in my heart Georgia, it's a new horizon We can lift off, flying and never be apart
To do my heart some good I wrote a song to say "I love you" and I promise not to hurt you or to ever make you blue So hold me tight Isn't it right that we're together and to hang on to forever the whole night through
'cause I still dream of your wings enfolding me and when I fall these four walls continue holding me
Not so many years from now,
they'll place my weary bones in the ground.
At least there won't be a blank page
In the chapters that precede my fate.
For I danced upon the earth and the seas
And now it's just you and me.
As we laugh about the birds and the bees,
My memory is fading away.
I am shaken but not stirred.
Maybe I am going insane
And everybody sees it but me.
The Americans need God, like Georgia needs the rain
At least that's what the preachers say.
I've started several fires,
Some are burning bright today.
Georgia, I swear I never seen such a smile
Gorgeous enough to make an angel's heart run wild
Your lazy eyes and small-town lies
Have got me in your spell
Your drive-in boys and back-seat noise
And oh, you learned so well
Oh, oh, oh, so how was I to know
You got me, you got me right now
Georgia, your daddy was high the night he dreamed up you
Georgia, the stars were flyin' the night that you came through
Christmas in your eyes
Oh, what a nice surprise
Oh, oh, oh, and now I miss you so
But baby, I'm comin' back to you
Georgia, we will be together, dear
If they ever let me out of here
They will say that it's not true
But I did it all for you
Georgia, won't you tell them for me dear
Georgia, girl I never lived through a night like that
Sure enough got your lovin' where I like it at
Moonlight through the pines
Oh, oh, oh, but how were we to know
That wasn't moonlight, they were searchlights, oh no
Georgia, we will be together, dear
If they ever let me out of here
They will say that it's not true
But I did it all for you
Georgia, won't you tell them for me dear
Georgia, we will be together dear (oh, my dear)

Kiss the moon at night
and then I run for cover (or “run for Katja”)
She gives me mellonal (?) milk
and then we take the trains all over
The tree of immer
already there in suffering mirror
She swept along the room
She was looking for the faith healer
Then who has started?
don’t know where it has been
Don’t know when he started
and I don’t know where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
I did the bar scrape
you got me filled with confessions
She got picked at night
and it was wet in the morning
She’s got a light that to me
is so familiar
She’s got a coat made of plire (?)
that is lined with fire (?)
Then who has started?
don’t know where it has been
Don’t know when he started
and I don’t know where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
? (4:20), look me girl
This is my confession of it all
*silence*
Let’s be gone
Then who has started?
don’t know where it has been
Don’t know when he started
and I don’t know where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
where he has been
Georgia, Georgia
Georgia, Georgia
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
Country name, country slang
Fiends at the liquor store
Lac Cruisin', crap shootin'
50 on the 10 to 4, overcast the forecast
Shows clouds from plenty dro
And we ready for war in the state of Georgia
Dirty words, dirty birds
It's mean in this dirty south
You ever disrespect it
And we'll clean out your dirty mouth
Bulldawgs is clockin', these look out boys is hawkin'
You gotta be brave in the state of Georgia
I got 5 Georgia homes where I rest my Georgia bones
Come anywhere on my land and I'll aim at your Georgia dome
If you get in an altercation just hop on your mobile phone
And tell somebody you need help in the middle of Georgia
We some ATL thrashers, scope your pumpkin' and smash ya
We'll come through your hood worse than a tsunami disaster
Don't know who they gonna get or who them robbers gonna hit
That's why I keep my Georgia Tech in the state of Georgia
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
I'm from the home of the neck bones
Black eyed peas, turnip and collard greens
We the children on the corn
Dirtier than Bob Marley's pee pee
GA, the peach state, where we stay
My small city's called Albany Georgia
Pecan country like catfish with grits
Candy yams and chitlins
Gram's homemade baked biscuits
The land of classical Caprices and Impala super sports
Ingredients in the peach cobbler called Georgia
I love the women out in L.A.
And the shopping stores in New York
The beaches in MIA
But they ain't nothin' like that GA red clay
Look on your map, we right above Florida, next to Bama
Under the Carolinas and Tennesse, you'll see Georgia
Where Gladys Knights and the Midnight Train
The birthplace of Martin Luther King
Where ass so plump and hips are thick
Where Lac trucks sit on 26's
Know where your going or your get lost
Found on these plum trees in the south
These choppas will tomahawk your top down here in Georgia
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
Now I was born in the belly of the bottom of the map
Where the wet paint drip jelly on pirelliz
And the chrome on the Chevy when I'm choppin in the trap
Country as hell, they some warriors
Told some to spray something the same shape as Florida
Lookin' for me boy, ya find me, out of Dougherty County
In a small city called Albany Georgia
Where they use to call us some bamas
And now they jockin' the grammar
Watch yo mouth unless you out for some manner
Bunch of hustlers run on every corner
Like the Waffle house in Atlanta
R.I.P Camoflauge out in Savannah Georgia
Now you might come for vacation
Leave on probation, home of the strip club
Known for the thick girls
Where the chicks put tips in the tip cup
Of thick chick in a thong with a big butt
When it gettin' on, won't be cheap when it on like Peachtree
Make a chick take it off like freaknik, down here in Georgia
When you see them confederate flags, you know what it is
Your folks picked cotton here, that why we call it 'the field'
I got a Chevrolet on 26's, I'm from GA, GA, Georgia
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
We on the grind in Georgia
All the time, it ain't
Nothin' on my mind but Georgia
We ain't playin' witcha
Georgia, Georgia
Lamps in the windows burnin' bright, over in Santa Fe tonight
Full moon shining down along the border
But the ground is hard and the night is black
Over here by the railroad track
And I wish to the Lord that I was back in Georgia
Blue water in the Indian sun,
Calling me when the day is done
Mama, mama pray for your son
All of my life I've been told
That the LA streets was paved with gold
Fame and fortune waiting to reward ya
But it didn't take long to understand
California ain't the promised land
But at least a man's a man in Georgia
Blue skies in the mornin' there
And there's green trees and breathin' air
Rockabye in my easy chair
Well it seems every river in the Georgia moonlight
Flowing up where folks are free
The sun comes up through the lonely pine trees
Over 'round the Kingsland ridge
I maybe here but my mind is still
About 90 miles north of Jacksonville
Well I may not make it, it's a long, long road
But mama I've paid all the debts I owe
And if I don't you know they gonna find me tryin'
They took my songs and they took my soul
They made me hard and they made me old
Back down memory lane
I began as my fathers bright idea
A short time later
They all watched in awe
and all of a sudden I\\\'m here.
She was also my father so i hardly got to see her
I was afraid of the dark
but it was only because I was a believer
I was told when i was two years old
She swore that i would be special
I took a good look around
and thought don\\\'t worry mama this city\\\'s gonna have you.
Georgia
You\\\'ll always be home to me
Georgia
I belong to you
and yes you belong to me
When they ask me where I\\\'m from
I\\\'m proud to say that I\\\'m your son
I\\\'m movin on
Using mostly dirt roads
Until I find my way
Campbelton road
Cant forget cascade
there is somethin about atlanta that doesnt cease to amaze me.
Oh, after all you even raised the people that raised me.
And my old man is very stealth cant be mad now why bother?
And you have been my mother nature also my godfather.
Georgia
You\\\'ll always be home to me
I belong to you
and yes you belong to me
When they ask me where I\\\'m from
I\\\'m proud to say that I\\\'m your son.
Georgia
You\\\'ll always be home to me
I belong to you
and yes you belong to me
When they ask me where I\\\'m from
When it's springtime down in Georgia
It's winter time up in Maine
You can go from snow to sunshine
If you board a southbound train
You get used to taking orders
But it's sometimes kind of rough
I got everything that a man could need
But it still ain't quite enough
Taking about oh Georgia take me to your Southlands
I sometimes feel my life is rolling on
Oh Georgia lead me through your heartlands
I need to see them one more time before I'm gone
When it's nighttime down in Georgia
It's daytime in L.A.
Where they never seem to do much
But they sure got lots to say
The times are changing down in Georgia
Though not always for the best
Give me thirty five good acres lord
And let progress take the rest
Talking about oh Georgia take me to your Southlands
I sometimes feel that life is rolling on
Oh Georgia lead me through your heartlands
I need to see them one more time before they're gone
Oh Georgia take me to your Southlands
I sometimes feel that life has passed me by
Oh Georgia lead me through your heartlands
