Computing is the activity of using computer hardware and software.
Computing Curricula 2005 defined "computing" as:
"In a general way, we can define computing to mean any goal-oriented activity requiring, benefiting from, or creating computers. Thus, computing includes designing and building hardware and software systems for a wide range of purposes; processing, structuring, and managing various kinds of information; doing scientific studies using computers; making computer systems behave intelligently; creating and using communications and entertainment media; finding and gathering information relevant to any particular purpose, and so on. The list is virtually endless, and the possibilities are vast."
The term "computing" has sometimes been narrowly defined, as in a 1989 ACM report on Computing as a Discipline:
The discipline of computing is the systematic study of algorithmic processes that describe and transform information: their theory, analysis, design, efficiency, implementation, and application. The fundamental question underlying all computing is "What can be (efficiently) automated?"

Stephen John Fry (born 24 August 1957) is an English actor, screenwriter, author, playwright, journalist, poet, comedian, television presenter, film director, and a director of Norwich City Football Club.
After a troubled childhood and adolescence, during which he was expelled from a number of schools and eventually spent three months in prison for credit card fraud, he was able to secure a place at Queens' College, Cambridge, where he studied English Literature.
He first came to public attention in the 1981 Cambridge Footlights Revue presentation "The Cellar Tapes", which also included Hugh Laurie, Emma Thompson and Tony Slattery. With Hugh Laurie, as the comedy double act Fry and Laurie, he co-wrote and co-starred in A Bit of Fry & Laurie, and took the role of Jeeves (with Laurie playing Wooster) in Jeeves and Wooster.
As an actor, Fry played the lead in the film Wilde, was Melchett in the BBC television series Blackadder, starred as the title character Peter Kingdom in the ITV series Kingdom, has a recurring guest role as Dr. Gordon Wyatt on the Fox crime series Bones and appeared as rogue TV host Gordon Deitrich in the dystopian thriller V For Vendetta. He has also written and presented several documentary series including the 2008 television series Stephen Fry in America, which saw him travelling across all 50 US states. Since 2003 he has been the host of the quiz show QI.

Cloud Computing is a design philosophy that breaks the Operating System and Applications from the Hardware
Web Applications
Are Created in Web Programming Languages
Generally Use Databases to Store Data
Clusters
Are Generally Used for Database Servers (MySQL, Microsoft Active Directory)
Load is balanced between servers in a cluster. If one server fails the cluster responds by not sending traffic to it.
Servers maintain the same data by using replication
Terminal Services
Based off of old Mainframe and Dumb Terminal Architecture
Now You Use Terminal Services Servers and Thin Clients
Thin Clients can be Hardware Devices or Software installed on a computer
All processing happens on Terminal Services Server and the Thin Client simply gets a "Window" into the server.

Application Servers
Uses Terminal Services but instead of providing a full Environment it only delivers a specific Application.
Virtualization
Uses Desktop Clients Software or Hypervisors to allow you to install multiple Operating Systems on to one physical server.
Hypervisors
i. Hypervisor is installed on the physical hardware to support the Operating Systems, and Management Software is used to configure each Virtual Machine, or Instance.
ii. VMWare uses ESXi as the Hypervisor and vSphere for the Management Software
Hosted Instances

You Pay for Use (Storage Amount, CPU Power, RAM, Bandwidth)

John Preskill, the Richard Feynman Professor of Theoretical Physics at the California Institute of Technology presents a public lecture: Quantum Computing & the Entanglement Frontier.
The quantum laws governing atoms and other tiny objects seem to defy common sense, and information encoded in quantum systems has weird properties that baffle our feeble human minds. John Preskill explains why he loves quantum entanglement, the elusive feature making quantum information fundamentally different from information in the macroscopic world. By exploiting quantum entanglement, quantum computers should be able to solve otherwise intractable problems, with far-reaching applications to cryptology, materials science, and medicine. Preskill is less weird than a quantum computer, and easier to understand.

Might and Magic VIII: Day of the Destroyer is a role-playing video game developed for Microsoft Windows by New World Computing and released in 2000 by the 3DO Company. It is the eighth game in the Might and Magic series. The game received middling critical reviews, a first for the series, with several critics citing the game's length and its increasingly dated game engine, which had been left fundamentally unaltered since Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven in 1998. The character development system, spells, sound effects, many of the sprites, and even some gameplay tasks - including an Arcomage quest - were for the most part recycled from earlier games, with little or non-notable tweaking.
Might and Magic VIII takes place on the fictional world of Enroth, upon the continent of Jadame, and acts as a sequel to Might and Magic VII and Heroes of Might and Magic III: Armageddon's Blade. Over a thousand years ago, the interstellar war between the Ancients and the Kreegan drove both races off of one of the Ancients' many colony worlds. During the millennium since, the original colonists and natives of that world built their own society and culture from the ruin, the stories of the Ancients and the Kreegan having long since passed into legend. Ten years ago, as depicted in Might and Magic VI: The Mandate of Heaven, the Kreegan invaded the world. The heroes of Might and Magic VI destroyed the Kreegan Queen, and the last of the Kreegan were wiped out over the course of Heroes of Might and Magic III: The Restoration of Erathia, Might and Magic VII: For Blood and Honor and Heroes III: Armageddon's Blade.The Ancients, however, anticipating disaster should the Kreegan manage to gain a foothold on the world, had already enacted a scorched earth plan: rather than let the world fall into the hands of their ancient enemies, they would see it destroyed outright.
A servant of the Ancients, the planeswalker Escaton, arrives in the village of Ravenshore on the continent of Jadame. Approaching the center of town, he summons a giant crystal which unleashes an elemental storm across the continent. There is widespread destruction and the boundaries to the four Elemental Planes are breached. Now elementals and monsters from beyond the boundaries are threatening to invade, fulfilling Escaton's plan to draw the powers of the elements toward the crystal and destroy the world, and the player must assemble a party of heroes to prevent this.
The game features several recurring characters from previous titles in the series, including the Elemental Lords from Might and Magic II, the Ironfists from Heroes of Might and Magic, and the necromancers Sandro (from Heroes 1-3) and Thant from Heroes of Might and Magic III.

If one server fails the cluster responds by not sending traffic to it. Servers maintain the same data by using replication Terminal Services Based off of old Mainframe and Dumb Terminal Architecture Now You Use Terminal Services Servers and Thin Clients Thin Clients can be Hardware Devices or Software installed on a computer All processing happens on Terminal Services Server and the Thin Client simply gets a "Window" into the server. Example: http://www.ncomputing.com/ Application Servers Uses Terminal Services but instead of providing a full Environment it only delivers a specific Application. Virtualization Uses Desktop Clients Software or Hypervisors to allow you to install multiple Operating Systems on to one physical server. Hypervisors i. Hypervisor is installed on the physical hardware to support the Operating Systems, and Management Software is used to configure each Virtual Machine, or Instance. ii. VMWare uses ESXi as the Hypervisor and vSphere for the Management Software Hosted Instances Examples: Amazon EC2 , Microsft Azure You Pay for Use (Storage Amount, CPU Power, RAM, Bandwidth) Edge Locations are used by some providers to allow for faster access to servers over the Internet. You may be charged to send data from the main servers to the Edge Servers Hosted Solutions Are pieces of software that are hosted by vendors using the Cloud (Hosted Exchange, Google Docs, Adobe Acrobat.com, Mozy) Public vs. Private Clouds The Public Cloud is Cloud Computing used from Online Vendors Private Clouds are environments on business/organization property that use Cloud Technologies. Final Thoughts.... Security... Most Small Business Security is poor. Security for most small to medium sized business will be better when systems are hosted in the cloud Local and Internet Bandwidth becomes more important with Cloud Computing.
