Desilu Productions (/ˈdɛsiːluː/) was an American television production company co-owned by husband and wife Desi Arnaz and Lucille Ball, best known for shows such as I Love Lucy, Star Trek, and The Untouchables. Until 1962, Desilu was the 2nd largest independent television production company in the U.S. behind MCA's Revue Productions until MCA bought Universal Pictures, and Desilu became and remained the #1 independent production company until being sold in 1967. Ball and Arnaz jointly owned the majority stake in Desilu from its inception until 1962, when Ball bought Arnaz out and ran the company by herself for several years. She eventually sold the company in 1967 to Gulf+Western; after the sale, company officials renamed it Paramount Television.
Its entire library is currently owned by CBS Television Studios. The pre-1960 library is copyrighted to CBS Broadcasting, Inc., while CBS Studios, Inc. holds the copyrights to the 1960s library (previously copyrighted by Paramount Pictures Corporation).

The Culver Studios is a historic movie studio located at 9336 West Washington Boulevard in Culver City, California. Originally created by silent movie pioneer Thomas H. Ince, many classics from Hollywood's Golden Age were filmed there, including Gone with the Wind,A Star is Born, Intermezzo and Rebecca. It is currently owned by Hackman Capital Partners.
The studios has operated under a number of names, Ince Studio (second; 1918-1925), De Mille Studios (1925–28), Pathe and RKO-Pathe Studios (1928–35), Selznick International Pictures (1935–56), Desilu-Culver Studios (1956–70), Culver City Studios (1970–77) and Laird International Studios (1977–86).
The Culver Studios was also used for television shows such as The Andy Griffith Show, Lassie, Batman, The Nanny and, more recently, Scrubs, Arrested Development and Cougar Town.
The lot has had multiple owners over the decades from wealthy individuals to business conglomerates. Eccentric businessman Howard Hughes once had a stake in the studio as well as filmmakers Cecil B. DeMille and David O. Selznick.
CBS (an initialism of the network's former name, the Columbia Broadcasting System) is an American commercial broadcast television network that is the flagship properties of CBS Corporation. The company is headquartered at the CBS Building in New York City with major production facilities and operations in New York City (at the CBS Broadcast Center) and Los Angeles (at CBS Television City and the CBS Studio Center).
CBS is sometimes referred to as the "Eye Network", in reference to the company's iconic logo, in use since 1951. It has also been called the "Tiffany Network", alluding to the perceived high quality of CBS programming during the tenure of its founder William S. Paley. It can also refer to some of CBS's first demonstrations of color television, which were held in a former Tiffany & Co. building in New York City in 1950.
The network has its origins in United Independent Broadcasters Inc., a collection of 16 radio stations that was purchased by Paley in 1928 and renamed the Columbia Broadcasting System. Under Paley's guidance, CBS would first become one of the largest radio networks in the United States, and eventually one of the Big Three American broadcast television networks. In 1974, CBS dropped its former full name and became known simply as CBS, Inc. The Westinghouse Electric Corporation acquired the network in 1995, renamed its corporate entity to the current CBS Broadcasting, Inc. in 1997, and eventually adopted the name of the company it had acquired to become CBS Corporation. In 2000, CBS came under the control of Viacom, which was formed as a spin-off of CBS in 1971. In late 2005, Viacom split itself into two separate companies, and re-established CBS Corporation – through the spin-off of its broadcast television, radio and select cable television and non-broadcasting assets – with the CBS television network at its core. CBS Corporation is controlled by Sumner Redstone through National Amusements, which also controls the current Viacom.
"I Love" is a song written and recorded by American country music artist Tom T. Hall. It was released in October 1973 as the only single from the album, For the People in the Last Hard Town. The song would be Hall's most successful single and was his fourth number one on the U.S. country singles chart. The single spent two weeks at the top and a total of 15 weeks on the chart. "I Love" was Hall's only entry on the Top 40 peaking at number 12.
"I Love" was used, with altered lyrics, in a popular 2003 TV commercial for Coors Light.
The song was used in the film For No Good Reason.
"I Like", a parody version by Heathen Dan, was released on the 1983 compilation album The Rhino Brothers Present the World's Worst Records.
Paramount Television is an American television production/distribution company that was active from 1967 until 2006 and revived in 2013. Most of this time was as the television arm of the Paramount Pictures film studio. Its predecessor is Desilu Productions.
The company was known for producing and distributing programs such as The Andy Griffith Show in the 1960s, Happy Days on ABC in the 1970s, Cheers and its spinoff Frasier on NBC in 1982 and 1993, the Star Trek franchise, Girlfriends in 2000 (with Grammnet Productions, 2006-2008 episodes by CBS Paramount Network Television) on UPN (later CW), Duckman in 1994 (with Klasky Csupo) on USA Network, and the daily Paramount staple Entertainment Tonight in 1981, among others.
The predecessor company, Desilu Productions, was originally founded in 1950 by Lucille Ball (1911–1989) and Desi Arnaz (1917-1986) for the purpose of producing Lucy's CBS radio series "My Favorite Husband" and later their sitcom, I Love Lucy, for the CBS network. It later produced Ball's follow-up series, The Lucy Show, as well as such other shows as Our Miss Brooks, The Untouchables, Mission: Impossible, Mannix, and Star Trek (the latter three as well as The Lucy Show would be continued under Paramount Television).
Desilu Studios was the home of dozens of classic tv shows from "I Love Lucy," "The Andy Griffith Show," "The Danny Thomas Show," "The Untouchables," "Mission Impossible," and "Star Trek."
I saw this combo on a "I Love Lucy" VHS made in 2001 by Paramount. This channel has been on YouTube for a Year bringing logos to life:) I'm bringing more logos to end the year right:)
Desilu Productions, founded by Lucille Ball and her husband Desi Arnaz, was one of the most influential production companies in TV history. They changed the existing paradigm in television, producing “I Love Lucy” in Los Angeles instead of New York City, and shooting on film instead of broadcasting live, allowing them to package the show for reruns, and making themselves very wealthy. They reinvested that money into developing more shows. They branched out into genres beyond comedy, working with writers and producers to bring shows like “Star Trek” and “Mission: Impossible” to the small screen. These shows have become multimedia franchises, and the original Desilu Productions lives on under the name of CBS Television Productions. Read more about Lucille Ball's life and legacy: http://ow....

Original version of this video uploaded by: Jordan Rios Inspired by the editing job CBS had done for the Blu-Ray print of Star Trek (TOS) episode 1x18, "Arena," whereupon the Desilu logo theme was eliminated entirely and the CBS TV Distribution theme was heard under it instead, followed by a silent CBS/Paramount TV logo, I've decided to envision the same thing as to if Paramount could not possibly have done the same back in the mid 1980s: as before, the Desilu logo music is gone, meaning the 1979 Paramount TV theme plays under that instead, followed by said logo with NO MUSIC at all! From the "Star Trek: TOS" Pilot 'The Cage'. With less than a week until the premiere of Star Trek: Discovery, I've decided to go back to the original Star Trek and upload some logos I didn't cover when I originally covered the show. This comes from the 1986 version of 'The Cage' (which featured an introduction done by Gene Roddenberry). Currently, you can find this version of 'The Cage' on the Star Trek: TOS remastered DVD and Blu-ray sets.
From the "Star Trek: TOS" episode 'Arena' on the Star Trek: TOS - The Roddenberry Vault Blu-ray. Normally it is the newer logo that may have an older logo's theme by mistake. In this case, it's the other way around. You may be wondering how could CBS let this happen. The answer is simple. All of the other episodes included on this Blu-ray set have the CBS TV Distribution logo plaster this CBS Paramount logo. This is simply a matter of an incomplete plaster. Because of this incomplete plaster, we get the only appearance the "Eye in the Sky" logo has made on Blu-ray.
From the "Star Trek: TOS" Pilot 'The Cage'. Seeing as I have covered the Blu-ray release of the show, it's time I cover the Season 1 prints with the CBS Paramount logo.

Complete Desilu Playhouse season 1 episode 9 originally aired December 8, 1958. This video is from a 16mm film copy - which is how TV shows of that era were distributed to affliliates - and is of reasonably good technical quality. I saw this episode on TV when it originally aired. It was so memorable even to a 6th grader that I chased it down on eBay and found it 53 years later. Then I put it up here for others to see.
