This video took me so. Freaking. Long. I started it over a year ago, and I gave up after getting a fourth of the way through. It felt too overwhelming at the time, but just recently I decided to finish it. I’ve probably rendered it and then deleted it about 8 times. Every time, I noticed a mistake and had to go back and fix it. I’m still not completely satisfied with the result, but I hope everyone can enjoy it! I don’t think I have worked so hard on a video before. Usually I’m proud of the product, but this time I’m just exhausted. I hope you like it! I know the idea of “101 reasons” is very overdone and was popular years ago, but I did start this video when the idea was first circulating. It just took me this long to actually finish it. I first started it because I could never find a Doctor and Rose video about “101 reasons to ship.” If one does exist, please let me know about it! I would love to watch it. Deutsche Bank’s co-CEOs Anshu Jain and Jürgen Fitschen were shown the door (well, technically they resigned, but with shareholder support plummeting amid skepticism about both financial targets and ongoing legal problems, it’s easy to read between the lines). The bank, which has paid out more than $9 billion over the past three years alone to settle legacy litigation, has become something of a poster child for corrupt corporate culture. Consider the following rundown of the legal problems the bank faced as of the beginning of its 2015 fiscal year: We are currently the subject of regulatory and criminal industry-wide investigations relating to interbank offered rates, as well as civil actions. Due to a number of uncertainties, including those related to the high profile of the matters and other banks’ settlement negotiations, the eventual outcome of these matters is unpredictable, and may materially and adversely affect our results of operations, financial condition and reputation.. A number of regulatory and law enforcement agencies globally are currently investigating us in connection with misconduct relating to manipulation of foreign exchange rates. The extent of our financial exposure to these matters could be material, and our reputation may suffer material harm as a result.. A number of regulatory authorities are currently investigating or seeking information from us in connection with transactions with Monte dei Paschi di Siena. The extent of our financial exposure to these matters could be material, and our reputation may be harmed.. Regulatory and law enforcement agencies in the United States are investigating whether our historical processing of certain U.S. dollar payment orders for parties from countries subject to U.S. embargo laws complied with U.S. federal and state laws.. We have been subject to contractual claims, litigation and governmental investigations in respect of our U.S. residential mortgage loan business that may materially and adversely affect our results of operations, financial condition or reputation.. In April, Deutsche settled rate rigging charges with the DoJ for $2.5 billion (or about $25,474 per employee) and subsequently paid $55 million to the SEC (an agency that’s been run by former Deutsche Bank employees and their close associates for years) in connection with allegations it deliberately mismarked its crisis-era LSS book to the tune of at least $5 billion.. But it was out of the frying pan and into the fire so to speak, because early last month, the DoJ announced it would seek to extract a fresh round of MBS-related settlements from banks that knowingly packaged and sold shoddy CDOs in the lead up to the crisis. JP Morgan, Bank of America, and Citi settled MBS probes when the DoJ was operating under the incomparable (and we mean that in a derisive way) Eric Holder but now, emboldened by her pyrrhic victory over Wall Street’s FX manipulators, new Attorney General Loretta Lynch is set to go after Barclays PLC, Credit Suisse Group AG, Deutsche Bank AG, HSBC Holdings PLC, Royal Bank of Scotland Group PLC,UBS AG and Wells Fargo & Co.. With the bank facing yet another settlement that could run into the billions and with both CEOs on the way out, the exodus continues as Bloomberg reports that Jonathan Pollack, the bank’s global head commercial real estate, is leaving after 16 years.. Here’s more: Pollack's departure comes just one month after the bank's head of structured finance Elad Shraga left to start his own fund. Shraga was instrumental in helping Deutsche become "an award-winning arranger of asset- and mortgage-backed debt." Shraga had been with Deutsche Bank for 15 years.. All of this seems to lend credence to the idea that Deutsche Bank may be in trouble. The employee exodus appears to be gathering steam, while the firm's legal troubles show no signs of abating. Indeed the bank's headquarters were raided just last week by authorities searching for information on client tax evasion.. Considering all of the above, one cannot help but be reminded of William Broeksmit, the former head of capital and risk optimization at Deutsche Bank who tragically took his own life in his South Kensington home in late January of 2014. Prior to committing suicide, Broeksmit told a psycologist that he was, in WSJ's words, "anxious about various authorities investigating" the firm.. Of course if Deutsche Bank does find itself up against the wall, it can always call in a few favors from former employees turned SEC officials turned high-profile attorneys like Robert Khuzami but as we noted last year, "it is usually best to just avoid litigation altogether, which is why perhaps sometimes it is easiest if the weakest links, those whose knowledge can implicate the people all the way at the top, quietly commit suicide in the middle of the night"...

CRUISE SHIP Hit by 80 FOOT HIGH WAVE A freak wave smashed through the windows of a cruise ship on the English Channel, reportedly killing an elderly man. The 85-year-old man and a woman in her 70s were airlifted off the MS Marco Polo after the incident, the vessel's owner, Cruise & Maritime Voyages, said in a statement released Friday. The cruise line pinned the tragedy on "adverse sea conditions in the south western approaches of the English Channel," the Independent reports. Spokesman Paul Foster said the man died before he could be airlifted for emergency treatment. The cause of death hasn't been determined, he said. The woman is receiving shore-side medical assistance. Fourteen other passengers were treated for minor injuries on on board. "Our thoughts are very much with these passengers and their families during this difficult time," the company said. The monstrous wave plowed into the 22,000 ton ship while it was heading for its home port of Tilbury after a 42-night voyage. A man who said his mom and dad were on the Marco Polo told CNN that the wave hit between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. The wave was so forceful that it crashed straight through five of the ship's windows and injured passengers inside while they were eating lunch. The ship's Waldorf Restaurant was inundated with water. As the ship rocked from side to side, passengers were ordered to retreat to their rooms. They were due to end their journey on Sunday. England, which has been lashed by wind and rain since December, had its wettest January since record-keeping began in 1766, and the rain has continued this month. Floods have drenched the southwestern coast of England, the low-lying Somerset Levels and the Thames Valley west of London, where hundreds of properties have been swamped after the river burst its banks. As winds gusted at up to 80 mph (130 kph), landslide and fallen trees caused havoc on the rail network, and some arriving flights were diverted from London's Heathrow to other airports amid fierce bouts of wind. Water came crashing through a window of the ship injuring a number of the 735 mainly British passengers. The 85-year-old man died after being airlifted off the ship. Not being able to finance a home was very upsetting, It was a huge let down but surely not the first one regarding ameriquest mortgage. The only thing I could think of was to try to build a small home out of a shed that's 12x24, So that's what I did. So now 1/2 of us live in this converted shed till I can find some other way. I have been struggling to get help from the Government, they don't care. I have been in litigation against ameriquest mortgage and their attorneys since 2004. They know we are having to use this shed for a home, while they wont answers questions regarding the insurance and the closing our refinance. Being a single mom makes this a tuff time for all of us. I made 2 videos but I can only tape for 10 seconds at a time. Last week I asked that your attorneys provide contact information for Mr. Moore, so far they have not provided that information, so at this time I am asking you for this info regarding the monitor. I never got a reply from you last year in April and June 2005 after sending you letters by fax requesting your assistants. I thought that your company was the American Dream, but all its been is a nightmare for me and my family. We had to live with out our home for 18 months while renting and making mortgage payments and waiting for answers that never come. Ameriquest/attorneys offered settlements that include insurance checks from safeco insurance, but can't answers any questions regarding the insurance. I have asked, is safeco responsible for neglect, negligence,fraud and forgery done by ameriquest and or their employee during the closing? Still I have not received a reply to that questions and others regarding the closing and the ins. I will not cash any checks because I feel that safeco should not have to pay for something that Ameriquest did. Please reply so that we may be able to resolve this soon... Just 2 weeks until Halloween. Is your home all decked out for the trick-or-treaters? Let’s take a look at a not-so-spooky housing market story from this week. “Market Watch” published a story recently focusing on why retirement savers should track the housing market. This is a slight shift from recent years, when many people avoided the housing market as an investment opportunity. Of course with the market meltdown a few years ago, and equity becoming as rare as the dodo, that made sense. Trepidation set in and no one wanted to jump on a perceived sinking ship. However, the old adage “buy low sell high” is in full play right now. Home prices have been low for a while now, and they’re beginning to rise. *# In fact, the article says it like this: The Great Recession saw Americans’ net worth get clobbered by a declining stock market and falling home prices. Since then, both stocks and home prices have recovered. The Dow and the S-and-P 500 have hit record levels, and home prices have also rebounded. Americans' equity in their homes is up to over 50%, and that's from a record low of 36.5% in early 2009. This all means one thing: the housing market isn’t as scary of a place as it was in recent history. Now investment is ever a “sure thing” of course, but the more stable housing market is a good place once again, according to the experts. *# Now to a local housing market in the AmeriFirst Home Mortgage family… I talked to Mark Bynum, helping home buyers in Port Huron, Michigan. Of course I asked Mark about the housing market in eastern Michigan, and he told me the usual points –interest rates are still low, home prices are very affordable and business is good. BUT … Mark shared something interesting with me. He says that NONE of that matters… Here’s why. If hopeful home buyers aren’t talking to a mortgage consultant about mortgage pre-approval and they’re just waiting for “better news,” then they’re wasting valuable time. Think of it this way, Mark says. When you buy your home, you probably have a 30-year mortgage. Depending on situations, most Americans who buy a home end up around 65 years old or older before they pay off that mortgage. Why wait that long? The longer you sit in your apartment waiting…or in your in-laws basement or your parent’s house … the older you’ll be as you’re still making house payments. *# Mark says you shouldn’t let things like an uncertain credit score or debt scare you from talking to a consultant. So often they can help you manage the numbers and get “right” … getting your dream home sooner rather than later. Mark says don’t let your dogs suffer in a 2-by-2 square of ‘yard’ … don’t take away the chance for your kids to have a swingset … don’t throw your money away renting forever … talk to a mortgage consultant about getting pre-approved for a loan and what it will take to buy that dream home. Get on the path to home ownership sooner rather than later.
